So if I disconnect my antennas I'm still getting a lot of noise on wide band fm makes me wonder if the problem is from the sdr itself, if you switch to USB it's gone

Any advice regarding a nearby AM radio station causing bleed-over to all the Medium Wave (AM broadcast band). It's a 50,000 watt station and I just want to eliminate or reduce that one station so I can hear DX AM stations?

Depending on which device you own. You can enable the MW notch filter. If it still bleeding though you can add an external notch. This one works well www.nooelec.com/store/distill-am-broadcast-am-filter.html

@@mikekd2kog588 Mike I think he actually wants to listen on MW, so the MW rejector would be of no use. A notch for a single frequency is hard to make, as it tends to reduce adjacent stations as well. Maybe the only answer is a rotatable loop antenna so he can null down the strength of the problem station.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, I am wishing to listen to MW, but need to reduce or eliminate the bleed-over of one very strong MW station interfering with all other MW stations. I'll look into the variable attenuator. The loop antenna was also a good suggestion. They appear to be a favorite among MW DX'ers. I went with a simple EFHW antenna with a 49:1 UNUN, hoping for an all-in-one kind of antenna that I can mount outside but don't have to adjust and doesn't require an expensive tuner. It works quite well for shortwave but is too directional apparently for MW. Mike, thanks for your videos. They really help with understanding a function rich program like SDRUno.

I agree that viewing this video on a tiny screen could be hard to see. Here is a recap. Enable the wide noise blanker (WNB) button via the RX CONTROL Adjust the noise blanker slider (NB) via the EX CONTROL (Default slider value is 190) Make this change until the noise drops and the meaningful signal resolves.
