I just watched a video by Doc Harley [A qualified HD tech with some 40 years experience] from Low Country HD and he says the Phat 10mm wires are compatible with the ion ignition systems. I have them on my 114 M8 and it seems to me HD would not sell them for the M8’s if there was an issue. Just remember to change all 4 wires and not just the 2 that are visible on the left side. As for my experience, I think they look great and although they say they make no difference to performance I’d swear they do.

@@KrakensGarageandAdventures Well, I went to the HD shop this morning with full intentions on returning the plug wires. One of the youngsters working at the parts counter swears up and down that they will work on my bike without any issues. He took me to the back area where he showed me his father's mostly stock '07 RK which has the SE wires installed and told me he has no problems with it. He says his personal '16 Road Glide also has no issues with the SE wires. I guess if the engine is completely stock there might be a chance of the EFI sensors having malfunctions, but I'm not an expert. My bike has a SE intake and V&H Bigshots, so I hope that means the parameters are within parameters and all that technical stuff. I was reading a couple of installation comments on these Phatter SE wires on later model touring models. They state that these Phat 10mm wires will not secure in the clamp(s) under the gas tank which are designed for the thinner OEM plug wires without alteration. I did have the worn spot on the front plug wire on my 2016 CVO Limited so what I did as a temporary measure is to slip a similar diameter size rubber hose slit lengthwise over the front plug wire and secure it with a cable wrap.

@@KrakensGarageandAdventures Well I got it. Self explanatory pain in the ass. Didn't realize the wires I ordered were about as big around as my thumb. If I do it again the factory stuff is going on. Due to the frustration I didn't get the desired placebo offect of increased performance...

1. It proves the parts staff aren't well rehearsed on what parts might cause an issue. 2. Unless you have a really built motor it's just anesthetics 3. If you experience intermittent running it may be the phat plugs causing the issue. Genius? No, I spoke with professionals in the know and reported the news. Thabks for watching. Eric
