Thank you Jackie. I like to recycle too. I packed 100 wine bottles, old golf balls and tennis balls, old clean golf towels, lots of sea shells and sea glass. Now I am making some sea glass from my tumbler. I am very interesting your Mosaic technique. Thank you for sharing your beautiful art!

Wonderful result! Could you show a close up of the crack on both sides to see if you can see it. So neat! TY, I'm learning a lot from you.
@SeaGlassArtbyJackie5 жыл бұрын
I will post the photos on my community page next week. I will have a chance to get to the location where this one is hanging. You can see the cracks if you look close but they are camouflaged by the sea glass.

Where to beging? I learned so much from you Jackie...awesome, beautiful all of your mosaic. I work with all kind of materials for my projects...and I'm so happy I bumped into your channel beacuse I wanted to do this long ago, but I didn't know what kind of adhesive to use. Thank you so much for great tips. You have a new sub. Love from Delaware

Hi Jackie, can you peel the silicone off if you want to reposition a piece? I usually use PVA on my ordinary mosaics which is easily removed when dry, although I grout it in after, but I'm new to sea glass.
@SeaGlassArtbyJackie4 жыл бұрын
Yes it does come off if you want to reposition pieces. I find it easiest t clean off either right away before it sets or after it has fully set. Otherwise it can be messy.

Im New to this, Your work is beautiful!!! I can only get sea glass from Micheals craft store. The pieces are so big. Do you use a glass cutter to make smaller??? I need a hobby but don't want to spend a lot of $$. So y questions are You use glass cutter? Alsowhere else can I oder seaglass???
@SeaGlassArtbyJackie3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I use sea glass that I’ve found at the beach so I’m not sure of a good source to buy. I don’t cut the pieces. I use them as I find them. You can check some Facebook sites for buying. Not al is authentic sea glass.

How can anyone find all that sea glass….do you tumble frosted glass to get it? Very beautiful.
@SeaGlassArtbyJackie Жыл бұрын
No it all comes from the beach. I’ve been collecting my whole life.
@Karelaw12294 жыл бұрын
Basic question, but is the sea glass on the outside or inside of the piece?
@SeaGlassArtbyJackie4 жыл бұрын
It’s on the outside of the piece. I hang them so you can see the side with sea glass. But I find they look good on both sides so when it hangs in the window it looks good from the outside too.

Does this technique work with non sea glass? Or will the silicone be seen underneath?
@SeaGlassArtbyJackie5 жыл бұрын
I can only comment on the use of clear silicone with sea glass, shells, driftwood, and sea pottery as this is all I’ve used with the silicone. I’d suggest doing a small project to “test” before doing anything to big or significant. If you can see through the glass you will see it underneath.

That is so pretty Jackie! Question is that silicone UV protected? To avoid turning yellow? Im a newbie and dont want to have the sun turn a piece yellow!
@SeaGlassArtbyJackie5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I have had pieces hanging in the windows for several years and the silicone hasn’t yellowed. It doesn’t matter which clear silicone product I use. I have had glue products yellow on me.

How do you glue the glass to the frame?
@SeaGlassArtbyJackie5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandy. I use clear silicone. Check out my video what to use for glue.
@davidhill12205 жыл бұрын
Did you grout? Patricia
@SeaGlassArtbyJackie5 жыл бұрын
No I don't. I don't want to cover up the frostiness of the sea glass so I rely only on the silicone to adhere the sea glass.
