How hard is it to install this vs old school cable steering? My old cable steering finally died on me and I need to install hydraulic steering. Not quite sure the best method to get the hoses to the rear of the boat…any tips?

A little easier in my opinion due to the fact that you don’t have to adjust linkage on cables. It makes steering a lot easier to turn and will last a lot longer than cables

jody, my sea star steering is a lil hard to turn. I have a 115 Yamaha on a 18' frontier bay boat. just bought the boat used and the steering is a lil tight. will bleeding help out?

I would first disconnect the steering cylinder from the motor and make sure the motor is turning freely. This way you can see if the hydraulic steering is the issue or the motor.
