As a Brit living abroad for some time this is one of the few things I have watched that makes me feel homesick. Great video and please all you fantastic fish and chip shop owners keep up the great work. Well done.

I live abroad from UK and Ireland too and it's the only thing I miss. I cook it myself now but I love the chipper because its not only about the fish- all the pies the Savoloy the sausage on batter and the range where it is shown. Reminds me lots of memories too.

Great Competition ... It would be great if all the F ish sold in our UK Chippies was actually caught by our UK FISHERMEN ...as PROMISED AFTER Brexit ...sadly there are no changes and the French Dutch German Spanish Potuguese AND Japs are still allowed to rape and pillage our UK 🇬🇧...Waters ... RISHI THIS WAS PART OF THE TORY MANIFESTO...PLEASE SEE OUR UK FISHING RIGHTS RIGHTLY RETURNED TO UK FISHERMEN ... I had a brit living in BC, Canada. He owned a fish n chip at white rock. he got very old and retired. no one could cook a good fish and chip like him. you need a passion for fish n chips.

Im 45 years old . scouse product. When me mum and dad would take us home from the states, i would eat at the local chippy 14 lunches and 14 dinners! Brilliant food! Id be dead by now if i lived there full time!

I love this guy's keep it up especially the learning I also think it's very important. I hope I get to come over & try each & everyone of you lot because honestly you guys serve way bigger & thicker fish then here in New Zealand fish n chip shops, mind you I'm still keeping an eye out nz. 🍻 everyone & keep safe.

yep and in many parts of the uk the way they cook them are different. some parts they cook them in batches 10 pounds at a time ect and dont use a basket but just into the oil loose and then use a skimmer to pick them up.. other areas do it like in nz in baskets. i belive its just the original way it was done.. thick short chips boiled the night prior and then dried and then fried in a pot of lard. so some of the older shops keep doing it

Idk but does ALL fish and chip shops sell Chicken Nuggets, i suppose some children like chicken nuggets at chippys tho I thought all fish and chip shops would sell fish, cod, chips, sausages and pies but u can have chicken nuggets as well 😅

Me and mam had chips from simpsons I took my mam out for the day and said do you fancy a bag of chips, really disappointed as it looks likes we had scraps from the bottom of the pan and the fish in batter was in little pieces , really disappointed 😔 as my mam does like her fish and chips but we didn’t kick up a fuss I just enjoyed my day out with her.

dunno if im a traitor but I just dont get fish n chips. never liked it that much. A good hearty roast beef sunday lunch is more "traditional" and more tasty imho :) (english btw) fish and chips really became popular after the second world war due to the exemption of rationing so it isn't really a long tradition is it?

Look at all of these skinless boneless fishes, bland! The british only want bland fish like cod and haddock. There are way tastier fishes to fry like red snapper. Removing the skin is sacrilege in france, it loses its taste. My local offers skin on cod.
