Prefab Sprout is one of the most underrated bands of all time & Paddy McAloon one of the most underrated songwriters. I think Steve McQueen is one of the truly great albums from the mid 80's. So happy to see this heartfelt version from Seal.

This is a lovely version, an honest, sincere, respectful version. Paddy MacAloon would be smiling about it, I've no doubt. Its one of Paddy's greatest tracks. The lyrical imagery used by him is just stupyfingly brilliant. All my life in a tower of foil..... words wont hold you broken soldiers.. kiss the thief and you'll save the rest.... all my insight's from retrospect.... all I stole that I took from you..... save your speeches, flowers are for funerals. I mean f"ing hell..... why can people write lyrics like that any more? An absolute timeless masterpiece......
