Seal Thin And Weakened From Entanglement

The seal must have been entangled to lose so much weight for a while. He is very thin and weak; he barely fights with the rescuers when they remove a big heap of rope from his body. Naude is convinced that this seal is from "out of town" - Thanks to the bright colors of the rope, the rescue team would have spotted him sooner if he had been around. He urgently needs help. As long as he drags this rope along, he cannot hunt fast enough, and he is well on his way to starvation. Hopefully, he will find the strength to find some fish right away; he needs to fatten up as quickly as possible. 🦭

Some where an injured street cat entered a veterinary clinic, the cat had to get through several doors to get to the cash desk. It had seen hurt animals go in there and understood what the vet was doning.

It's so sad to see an animal suffering due to human carelessness. Maybe that poor seal heard about the rescues at Pelican Point, and knowing you were his only hope, used the last of his strength to swim there so you could cut him free and save his life. Now he can hunt and fatten up for the journey back to his home territory. Kudos to the team!🦭🌊🙏

@@Original-q11 Obviously u never set foot on a trawler 🤦🏻‍♂️ “no carelessness” what a load of 💩. Twine ALONE is expensive enough over here in a first world country, so in a third it’s BLOODY EXPENSIVE, so u use every bit u can. I done 40 odd years at sea working fishing boats and that is fishing gear that’s been torn off a trawl on metal junk (mostly from the wars) on the sea bed. Plus I’ve rescued three seals in my time, so don’t paint us all with the same brush plz ✌️🇬🇧

I often worry about seals all along the coast who don’t meet OCN rescuers on a regular basis. I like the idea of these tourists thinking: “The people are so nice here and the food is great. Nice beaches!” It was great to see that skinny girl saved. These are miserable situations but they’re also uplifting. I have to focus on the good that is done. There are more and more heroes all around the world. Hooray for all of them.
