Performance is 90% when it comes to a live recording. Mastering for the studio. I was at this concert and everything you hear (including that tantalizing delay on his vocals was present there and then. Mastering has likely just been compression and limiting to raise the average level.

Have you been able to go to the tour he is doing right now/recently? I went to his Dallas show, and it was great! I'm a newer fan who was introduced to his work by my dad, and it was convenient that the concert was about his first two albums as they were the ones I am most familiar with right now.

He just finished a tour in celebration of that album. That album's producer, Trevor Horn, played bass on the tour. I saw the show in St. Louis, Missouri USA. I've seen Seal 6 times, in 5 cities over the last 28 years. Every single show was memorable, for different reasons. Talking to the crowd he explained "This isn't about me standing up here singing a song, or trying to sell a record. This is about us sharing an experience."

Just to add to how uniquely talented this man is - did anyone else notice that he is playing guitar "upside down"? It IS a left-handed guitar but it's strung for a right-handed player; he must've learned on a right-handed guitar which was simply flipped over, without reversing the strings. For me, a sign of a truly great song is when you can strip it right back, perform it acoustically, and it still sounds great. I've been playing some of his songs for years and they truly fall into this category. Legend.

Honestly...how good is SEAL. I mean we listen to all his very well know performances & they're absolutely 'FANTASTIC' & then we listen to his lesser known performances & they are equally 'fantastic' He's a purity in voice, persona & charisma. He's a gift & a genuine lovable man that's found his meanings in life. SEAL...you are loved for the pleasure you give to people, the World Over.
