15:50 *BRUH* The Royal Navy BB do NOT RIVAL USN BB AA! Only maybe French and DEFINITELY Soviet T10 BBs have anywhere near the AA, of Montana! The ONLY thing Conqueror has got going for it is that the 3.5 km medium range is 627 DPS - but it has NO short range, and its long range is PATHETIC at only 77 DPS and 4 Flak! Meanwhile Republique has 189 DPS at 6 km with 8 Flak clouds, but then a 3.8 km mid range of 497 DPS. Kremlin has a long range aura that goes to 6.6 km, and it has 8 flak clouds and 192 DPS, and a 3.5 km mid range of 392 - but then a "Short" range of 3.1 km that gives a further 287 DPS - this is well AFTER Kremlin has received several AA DPS nerfs too! She used to have over 220 long range, and a mid of over 500! Montana has a 6 km long range with 8 flak clouds and 175 DPS, a 3.5 km mid range with 507 DPS and a normal 2 km short range of 371 DPS - so she DEFINITELY has the highest DPS overall, but that 2 km aura is only effective when planes need to fly over you basically - meanwhile Kremlin short range is 3.1 km! Still my point is, that as an AA Platform the only REAL Competition is Kremlin and Repub - because Conqueror AA sucks at range - which is the most important BB AA factor, especially lacking a long ranged mid - that is to say a mid range of 3.8 to 5 km instead of the normal 3.5 that Conq has - the Conqueror is NOT a good AA BB, she can barely defend herself with that piddly long range and no short to back up the powerful mid to kill off dive bombers and other aircraft that has to fly within 2 km or less of the ship. Also Conqueror loses its mid range mounts easily.

North Carolina, Alabama, Iowa, Missouri and others still rival other T10 BBs in overall AA power! Montana's biggest gain is that 6 KM long range aura with a massive mid to back it up!

The reason USN BBs are avoided by CVs at T8+ especially is because even their long range does ~150+ DPS and has 8 Flak which will tear apart aircraft that hits it - this is why long range DPS matters, it is the greatest deterrent apart from catapult fighters at this point.

The Colorado is a satisfying bote. Suffers on harsh uptiers, but what doesn't? Stay in the middle of the map and use the good range and large shells to make the reds pay.

I am currently playing the Colorado and I feel like people are too harsh on it. I have had many very good games and thoroughly enjoy playing it. I think the improved US heal has done a lot to help her stay alive and make her fun to play now.

When bow tanking, it helps prevent your turrets from being knocked out, you could take PT if you desire, but I personally take PM

Iowa is my favorite so far (still doesn’t get Montana though). Maybe because I played Alaska a lot before when I grind DM line. (I’m CA main btw) Alaska is like a light armored Iowa for me. Iowa speed is great to play her middle or flank to middle. When I’ve won a flank I’d rapidly sail back to help other flank or exploit the middle if both flanks are undecided.

2:04 I still don't get how USN battleships are considered to have only 'average' armor. Sure, the Soviet battleships are the tankiest, but wouldn't the USN battleships be second place in that category? Upon comparing the armor values of battleships at each teir, I have noticed that the USN battleships seem to usually have thicker main belts and athwartships than most other battleships of each teir. Regarding the German battleships with their turtleback armor, It seems that although they are often immune from being citadelled, it seems that the turtleback armor scheme is not able to bounce shells as effectively as the All Or Nothing scheme. Am I missing something?

4:00 You serious? 26mm plating literally everywhere in a T7 ship... not really I enjoyed the Colorado anyway tho. Yes, it gets overmatched by everything, and it is terribly slow, but those guns are just pure love. By far my favorite of the US Dreadnoughts. Still like playing it.

The US battleship line is the most boring line to grind from tier 3 to tier 7 (especially on a free to play account where you don't want to buy upgrades and unnecessary modules). Play your favourite ship instead and use free XP to get North Carolina. There is a reason Sea Lord Mountbatten only showed the tier IX and X ships.

*AA Build is POINTLESS in current WOWS! None of it makes enough difference without the slot 6 AA mod! And giving up accuracy or reload for that is still STUPID! Optimal modern AA Build = BFT, nothing else!* North Carolina up has good enough AA that you need NOTHING! Anything added will only barely change things!

They are called Standard battleships because of their speed of 21 kts, that's what they were designed for. However, they are still called dreadnoughts and super dreadnoughts because of the era they were built and their design.

I would disagree what you said with the AA, if AA is so unreliable, why a single BB manage to shot down a whole torp squad, this is either the CV player is bad, didn't dodge flak, or the player is prepared. I've seen countless players complain about AA even they are AA ships, that's because they don't know what's the point of playing CV then they complain in the forums saying CV is weak, then they say is OP, so basically, is based on the player skill to manage CV and the ships AA. Not the mechanism.

Well well, where do i begin from? Yeah, 2:22 Royal Navy BBs' AA isn't nothing special compared to US BBs' AA, the dreadnoughts have slightly above average AA but nothing special, somewhat on-par with the French and English, the fast BBs have good AA but rivaled/slightly surpassed by French BBs, especially Alsace and Republique, while the only russian BB whose AA is better than US is the Kremlin (however someone in comments made a detailed AA comparison). 4:05, big bullshit, US dreadnaughts have crappy plating, especially felt at T6/T7 compared with russian BBs, yeah they're thick and under their plating have a solid armor so usually you don't eat massive salvos but you get pinned constantly because of the weak plating, and as you further say they're broadside isn't nothing especially tanky, and if you get shot by anything with 16" guns... you have to be sharply angled to mitigate the damage. 6:15 well, T6/T7 US BBs have decent turret angles, so you don't have to give all that much broadside to use all of them. Another abomination is using the fighter on US BBs, as you said you have slow shells and the arches really high so you want to have spotter plane high vision to lob shells over islands and catch broadside ships, US slow shells are really made for that, lobbing shells over islands. Regarding builds, i think you really underestimate the importance of priority target, like you have never specked it on any of your BB builds, but it's super important to know if maybe a DD is drooping torps on you, how many ships are aiming at you so maybe you can commit to a turn... surv expert it's yeiiish, i mean you aren't supposed to brawl and if you take primary armaments in slot 1 the turrets get tanky enough. In fact i don't uderstand why you should spec secondary armaments in slot 1, i mean your primary guns are your main armament, you don't have secondaries and the AA at the end of the day isn't so important to spec into... in slot 3 there's another BIG ABOMINATION: the AA module has been nerfed so much that it has become useless, it really sucks, on dreadnoughts you should spec the plotting room for range because you have faster shells, while on fast BBs turret rotation module is literally made for US BBs now because the reload nerf has been cancelled and you haven't nothing more useful to slot in there. Like every other wows youtuber has recognized this but still. Seen that you're gonna ran a tank build (fire prevention + basics + fire flag) slotting fire control isn't worth it because the improvement is minimal (like Flamu said, these reductions of fire duration are percentage based so the more you stack up the less the improvement is) rudder module is much more useful on the US BBs, especially the fast ones. You can fire, go stealth undetected and manoeuvre, and on Montana the rudder is just necessary to bring it on par with other BBs. So the rudder time is much more usefull to be coupled with the good speed and the sharp narrow bows of the ships.

Am I the only one who absolutely hates Colorado? I'm fine with 21 knot speed, it's fast enough for bb, but the armor and the gun dispersion sucks. Can't tank 380mm or higher caliber shells, garbage dispersion despite its high sigma value. What's even worse is its low dps. 12*356mm from NM just out perform 8*406mm from Colorado. I spent 35k free experience to skip that piece of crap.

Lumping multiple ships into two categories like that is just lazy. You spent more time and effort getting your pointless intro clip done than you put into the actual video. It's also a pretty good indicator that you don't really know much about the American BB line. The New Mexico, and certainly the New York, play nothing like the Colorado. Maybe your German ships all play pretty much the same, but the US and IJN lines had some actual care and attention devoted to them, hence every ship is unique.
