Receiving unsolicited gifts and romantic gestures from someone you don't have feelings for is monumentally uncomfortable.
@meganmadson85885 ай бұрын
yeah, as a woman who is not neurotypical, i say things bluntly but a lot of the time i forget that it can be taken as a hint by someone else, even if i’m not intending for it to be. this happens a lot with men i speak to, and it’s uncomfy every time. i wish people wouldn’t try to read into everything i say and use it to win my favor or anything. i’m not being coy, i’m just making a comment :/ also, someone who gives unsolicited gifts like that could easily be the kind of person to hold it over you later. it’s not always kindness, often it’s just trying to buy you
@ravenwolf27465 ай бұрын
Yeah but at the same time, don't be an ass about it and just kindly reject them and tell them you don't think it's appropriate for them to do that since you don't have any feelings for them. The other person might just feel like they are doing something nice for you and want to impress. Don't go behind their back and call them a creep just because they gave you a gift. That's wildly judgemental.

@@ravenwolf2746 them calling him a creep sounded not at all due to just the gift, but to other things, such as them feeling they need to BRING SOMEONE with them to receive a gift because they are afraid of what said person will do/say. plus the fact they chose to only meet them in person twice kinda speaks volumes in of itself
@Jessica-uo4qk5 ай бұрын
My own understanding for the Valentine bear story: the girl said she wasn't with the guy, she barely knew him. They just happened to meet once in a bar then he immediately (literally next day) got her a valentines bear. So it's more stalker vibes than a crush misunderstanding a hint. At best he's flirting way too strong way too soon so I get her reaction, especially if he gave her creeper flags.
@DubThirtyThr335 ай бұрын
Said they talked BEFORE they met in person, it sounds to me like she just wasn't attracted to him and that automatically makes her see his kindness as "Creepy" which is sexist buffoonery

@@DubThirtyThr33 idk her needing to bring someone to feel safe when receiving a gift isnt giving at all what u said
@its99pm5 ай бұрын
The dude just didn't handle it very well at all. Regardless of how long they'd chatted, that was their first IRL meeting and you don't know if you vibe/have chemistry until you meet someone. He should've sent her a message saying something like "hey, wanna meet up for coffee/lunch/whatever and then go to Build-a-Bear after? You could get that valentine one you mentioned - my treat!" - it'd have been cute and no pressure. Him going out and getting the bear made on his own removes the fun of her getting to make it & name it herself, and him then approaching her saying he has a gift to give her for Valentines adds all kinds of expectations and pressure. If someone gets you a pricey gift the social implications of responding that you'd rather not meet them again are pretty damn heavy + I don't think a finished build-a-bear can be refunded. Simply suggesting to go out for coffee and then get the gift together puts her in a position where she can--if that's how she feels--gracefully decline and no money has been wasted and no one will feel like anything is owed.
@DubThirtyThr335 ай бұрын

@@kamukamukazumiyes that's just juvenile buffoonery. "Creepy" is just immature girl talk for "I don't like him". They were in contact they were flirting, it seems obvious from the entire context that it was a romantic endeavor, there probably met on something like tinder. If you don't like someone just fucking say it, accepting someone's advances just to say they're creepy at their back and SHRED their present because their "name makes your sick"? What's your malfunction?
@AbBeiBei5265 ай бұрын
To the girl w the build a bear query, and coming from another girl: If the man was truly being a creep and you gave him hints that you weren't interested, then ghosting him was the best option bcuz you don't know what the man could've been capable of. It's better to be safe than sorry and protect yourself when you can 💕
@its99pm5 ай бұрын
And to the guy in that story, next time you should suggest going out for coffee or lunch and then going to build-a-bear *together* as a cute little date! Half the fun is making the bear yourself, damnit. Plus it gives her the option to gracefully decline if she's not into you, and you won't be out any money.
@TtySprnklz5 ай бұрын
Did I miss some context. Does she explain why she accepted in the first place? Or is that the context they are also saying is missing. Because I took it as this creepy guy had a gift for me and i accepted which would equally be off.
@StephArdicki5 ай бұрын
I had to listen to it again, but in the beginning of the story, she says she was not romantically interested in him. I think the guys don't even realize how terrifying it is as women to turn down men we are not romantically interested in. It could literally mean life or death, especially since they only met once in person. I totally agree. Ghosting is the best option. There's not enough info on the story on if they had given hints that they were not interested. Women gotta trust their gut a lot of the time. He could be nice and give gifts, but if he's acting in any way that makes you uncomfortable, especially if you aren't even together, you gotta look out for yourself.

You are absolutely not an asshole. They quite literally tried to drug you. Marijuana may not be the harshest of things but to give someone something in a misleading way is disgusting. I have had plenty of people in my life ask me why I don't smoke or tell me I should try it. I at one point due to chronic pain and it being legalized tried it the first time. I was horribly sick. I've always admired people who never drink. I think if you respectfully decline that should be that. For all they know addiction could run in your family and that's a cycle that doesn't need to be repeated. What is harmless for some can be harmful to others. Long winded way to tell you as someone who is with someone who uses THC he never has pressured me. Me saying no once is enough. I occasionally will par take on the rarest of occasions but I initiate that or it's a short polite offer. I'm not belittled. My 2 friends would always get mad at me when we'd go to this one café restaurant, complaining they wanted to go somewhere else. I have celiac disease, and they knew that and that place was the only place I could eat without worry. So when I said ok we can go elsewhere, I'd just drink something and not eat while they ate. They also got mad at me for not wanting to go to parties and hang out with them often, they lived in the same city and i didn't. I had to take the bus & train to get there. I also had and still have depression, anxiety and social anxiety too, and they knew that too. There were also times when they wanted have a sleepover during the weekend, or something and I was working that weekend. So when I said no, they got really mad at me. Then one day, after working for 9 days straight (i know to some of you that isn't much but to me it was plus my work requires a lot of customer service) they asked if I wanted to come over. I said I've been working for 9 days, I'm so tired I just wanna go to sleep and they said almost unanimously "figured". I left the chat and blocked them in all platforms and haven't spoken or seen them since 2019. They made me feel like I was insignificant, like I didn't matter. What I wanted or felt didn't matter. I also have blonde hair, and the amount of times they would call me stupid because of that went from okay haha funny to not funny at all. Glad I cut those toxic people out of my life. What a rant but that one person cutting ties with their smoking & drinking friends reminded me of myself.

I like the term “birth giver.” My mother was a verbal and emotional abusive to me all my life and I finally cut her out of my life 10 years ago. Calling her a mom never sat right, but birth giver, I think is more appropriate a title.

That girl who trashed the guys car is definitely not cheap property damage Depending on the amount of windows she painted that’s like 2 grand to replace along with like another 500 to 1500 replacing the fuel lines and injectors and cleaning the tank after the mashed potatoes gums it up Cheating is horrible but going to jail for months or a criminal/civil suit for doing 2-4 grand of damage to a car isn’t the wisest thing to do

I wholeheartedly agree!! Reminds me of that shitty Carrie Underwood song! Just dump the chump and… you know… possibly look into seeking some therapy.

Everyone leaks here. It's absolutely unhinged. And the winky face is horrifying I've been cheated on so many times. I cry it out and get help. Definitely sounds like she absolutely snapped. Hope she finds help or something.

I'm 23, I smoke/vape marijuana for pain and anxiety management, that being said if my friends ask I don't smoke around them because my issues aren't their issues. I managed my anxiety for 21 years prior to finding out weed helps and I have ways to manage without smoking it's just easier when I do. I don't smoke around kids, in buildings I have not been given express permission to, and most public places. I step of the sidewalk when I hit my vape if I am taking a walk. This all feel like bare minimum smoker courtesy to me.🤷 That girl is definitely not the asshole.
