It’s unfair , the question. How would he know? I mean we all know who his father was. He’s always had money, he’s never been put in a situation to where he had to makes ends meet, it’s always been there, it was there before he was born. On the other hand, maybe he’s always been like this, not greedy or conniving for money, because it’s always there.

Exactly. He’s part of the leisure class, picking and choosing how he spends his time. That’s what financial freedom provides.

Sean means well. He's just damned if does or doesnt in just about every aspect of his life.

Yeah, it's kinda sad because everybody compares everything he does to his dad which is very unfair.

He’s always had money so he can’t know how important it is to him. You have to not have money to know the difference.

I have not heard him play the guitar but his interview is refreshing and I too like guitars and I always look at new songs and enjoy the learning of any song that comes my way.

Sean Lennon is an amazing guitar player. First time I heard Cheshire Cat Cry I thought it was John playing guitar. Raw and real. Sean is a great artist. Rich or poor, he will be fine.

I've been watching several of the Sean Lennon and Elliott Mintz interview videos, and I see Sean is a very intelligent guy. As it has been said, 'the acorn doesn't fall too far from the tree'. As for having a boatload of money, he's got to always be on the lookout for people that only want to know him for his fame and fortune. That would be a drag. It seems like he knows what is important in life.

that was actually a very good answer. It is almost like asking a typical person 'how their life would change if they won the lotto?' Hard to say, yet if you enjoy x, y + z when poor; then logically, you'd also enjoy x, y + z when rich. This is basically what Sean is saying, yet in reverse.

‘I think I’d be fine’- Good answer Sean, to how you’d be without money. Like how down-to-earth he is.

Money are not important for people that have money, basically. But Sean looks like a smart guy he would be able to make his own money from scratch.

The greatest gift of having a lot of money is ‘freedom from survival mode’. Until that freedom lost, or was never there to begin with, people think having money is all about extravagance…that that is the greatest gift. It is not…the greatest gift is ‘knowing you don’t ever have to think about money again! Legitimate question, naive answer. But someone who has always been rich may have a very hard time grasping my point.

He may not have written it, but John killed that song! I prefer his, to the original. Same with Twist and Shout. Sean appears to be an intelligent, artistic and together guy. He should've turned that around on Elliot, and asked him the same question, regarding money. Mr. Mintz, who I like, is fairly well off, too. I liked Sean's response though.

If I imagine that I had all his possessions, my honest answer would be; “I have no clue what that would be like. I’m not trying to be glib or anything, but c’mon, man, everyone knows who my father is and what I got out of the deal by virtue of my birth. How am I supposed to answer that question? Who wouldn’t trade places with me. If I wasn’t the lucky offspring, I would”
@jeffjohnson55443 жыл бұрын
Great insight. And I think because he didn't answer Elliott's question like that shows he is out of touch with just how different and difficult normal living would be. Not that he doesn't work hard, but you cannot say that his work is the same as someone who is expected to show up at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning and who HAS to earn a living.

He doesn't know what he'd do because it's never been his situation, and that's not his fault. I'm sure he enjoys the comfort his situation has given him very much and isn't going to give it up anytime soon, but that doesn't mean he's hungry for luxury and consuming like there's no tomorrow, or scheming ways to fatten his coffers even more just because. He's probably more or less telling the truth. His lifestyle is probably really expensive compared to yours or mine, but at the same time, not as much as it COULD be.
