@@Liusila Same here. mid thirties now, and my teens and early adulthood I watched all the comedy shows I could, it was a big part of my life. The various TV shows; sitcoms, sketch shows, panel shows, quizzes etc, plus stand-up DVD's for xmas every year, you know. I was round at my best mates house on Wednesday when he got a notification. He just looked at the phone, went silent and handed it to me to read. Felt like being punched in the chest. Been watching quite a few videos the last couple of days, of different compilations and "best bits" etc of Sean. There are certainly many to choose from - both "best bits" and tribute and fan videos. I don't think I really knew *just* how popular and well liked Sean was. There is some kind of small comfort in knowing I am not alone in feeling this, this actual genuine grief. I hope Sean knew just how much he was loved by his fans, the public, but also clearly his friends and colleagues, family. I bawled my eyes out watching through this one tbh. I'm legit still crying writing this now. Seeing legends like Bill Bailey so clearly upset, even Dave Spikey, idk, you can see how raw and real their pain. I don't think I have ever been so affected by the death of someone I never met before this. Have to agree with that. Better than I could ever put. I didn't know Sean, he didn't know me. Our paths would never cross, unless, cos I know he went into proper boozers and I saw him there. I've seen semi/famous people all over London. I'm working class Plastic Paddy, with a few quid. I'd never approach him outdoors. In a pub, I'd stand him a good few pints. I loved his mind, his approach, his comedy. It came up on my Twitter feed, as breaking news. Honest to God, it was like a fuckin gut punch. The wind out of me sails. Couldn't take it in. For the rest of the day I was searching me mind and going "Yeah, I remember when he shaved his hair, had the goatee. Some episodes he had a hoarse/croake voice." He kept it 'underwraps', so to speak. And, to me, in this day and age, that's a sign of somebody which I admire. To me, I grew up in the early 90's looking back - at things like music, fashion, comedy, architecture, general TV and revering it. "This is the fabric of our nation." He, not only he, but particulary him, made me think... he is a stardust. One of a kind. Nothing really can touch him on the circuit, what he's doing now. And I think he had a lot MORE, but, the 15 Stories thing didn't work out, and I think people will look back now and go "Fuckin 'ell. SO ahead of it's time." I'm gutted. It's mad. Don't know the bloke. Don't know anybody who knows him/met him. He's a bloke off the TV. That's it. The comedy ripped through me. When I saw him in non-comedic situations, I was pulled in. Loved him. Always will.

Years ago while searching comedians on the net I came across a QI clip with Sean Lock as a guest. That started a friendship that lasted many years. I never met Sean, was never even in the same country as him and he never knew about this friendship. Well that's what it felt like. An amazing comedy talent that, no matter what could bring a smile to anyone's face. Goodbye Sean Lock, from a friend you never met

As people who knew him, worked with him and called him a mate, I don't know how these guys are managing to keep so collected talking about him on camera this way. Christ, I certainly had some tears watching this and I know I won't be the only one. As Bill said, he left one hell of a legacy with his work.

I discovered 8 out of 10 cats does countdown a few months ago and sean lock was in it. I immediately love the vibes he brought and I watched every episode I can find with him in it. In a few months he brought me joy during this hard time and I'm devastated that the man that made me laugh in a short amount of time is now gone. RIP Sean you will be dearly missed.
