I'm in the US and when I heard, I told my husband, son, and elderly mother because we watched 8/10 Cats Play Countdown and played along competing with one another. Each of us were stunned, just as if it were a family member. I have health problems and Mom is in her 80's, so we all stayed in our home for almost all of the pandemic until we were all fully vaccinated. Cats Play Countdown was a fun way to pass the time and keep our brains active. His bits about winning rectum of the year and the one about creating a Nazi Island make me laugh until it hurts every time. He was one of a kind and will be so sorely missed.

I’m actually torn up, I grew up watching Mock the week, 8 out of 10 cats, countdown. Sean always was my favourite comedian on the shows, never in your face or over the top. Subtle, extremely clever, witty and just plain hilarious. With the familiarity of a good friend telling you a story. He’d tell his jokes with a casualness that it almost caught you off guard when it turned out be the funniest thing you’d ever heard. Happened every single time he opened his mouth. Rip Sean ❤️

About three years ago I was lying on the grass in Highgate Woods and in amongst all the families playing the classic ball games or letting their kids play on their own was a man setting up various hilarious races, games and challenges, getting totally involved with his kids and being so inventive. What a brilliant Dad, I thought.. then I realised it was Sean Lock. I would love to have spoken with him briefly, just to tell him how I still hadn't forgiven him for killing an imaginary budgie with a teaspoon... but there's no way I would have interrupted the time he was spending with his kids. My thoughts go out to his family right now - what an enormous loss. Rest in Peace, Sean.
