Everyone saying he's acting now are idiots. This was his first UFC fight. People get more outspoken once they find their place and get comfortable. Even in this interview he showed tiny glimpses of cockiness. Nobody shows up on the first day of work at a new job and is going full bore goon. That might happen now days cuz the UFC is like WWE and shit talking sells fights just as much as skill.

@heroe1486
@heroe1486 8 ай бұрын
@@mags6946 No it doesn't have anything to do with that, you have successful people who are still shy, or just naturally cautious, some who don't even have families and even some who are cocky for nothing, even as kids. And most people care about what other think and are also even hypocrites, even as adults, that's just a fact these days, even for some of those claiming the opposite. Here it's just a young fighter vs someone wanting to make a bit of self promotion, without that self promotion he won't even have fought Adesanya for that matter. You seem a bit brainwashed to be fair, those leftists made you crazy and you thus try to reach for the extreme "opposite" with over manly discourse, just ignore w*kes and have coherent discourses
@mags6946
@mags6946 8 ай бұрын
@@heroe1486 man, you say it like Strickland is some BUM who can't climb his way up the rankings lol. This what you don't understand, fighters like Weidman and Rockhold became champs and they didn't do any self promotion like Colby did. They basically climbed up the rankings and are not a boring decision wrestler like Colby. Pretty sure Strickland on the same spectrum as Rockhold and Weidman when it comes to fighting skills so he definitely can fight for the title even if he didn't have a sellable personality. Just so you know, nobody was available to fight Izzy when Dickus pulled out. Strickland himself just came off of a fight. UFC didn't want him to have a shot because of his personality but Izzy himself said he CONVINCED the UFC to let the fight happen by saying Strickland have NO shot of winning.

@@heroe1486 you seem a bit full of yourself to think ALL people are the same lol. Yes we have people who have CONSISTENT personalities since childhood but there are a LOT of people who have to behave ACCORDINGLY so they don't have to get kicked out of school or get fired at work. And when they start to be. a man of their own, they just start to SPEAK what's in their mind rather than BEHAVE accordingly like they used to when they were kids.

I mean the difference between me at 18 to 25 is two different people. As u grow wiser you become more out spoken. especially when it's your job to stand out and your only way to get a pay raise is to say things the media can use to make headlines and to beat tough @$$ guys just to come back 3 months later and beat an even tougher guy I'm pretty sure only the dumb fighters stay the same. Being humble in mma won't get u far. Fact: Colby Covington had to become a fictional character just to keep his job! To which at that point he had won 5 of his 6 first fights in the ufc. Ufc would much rather have the slightly above average shlt talker than the world class level nice guy. Trust me Mr Joel, you would change your name to roel and dye your hair pink if it meant you'd get paid another 50k. Funny thing is with your statement is that it's actually the complete opposite. Sean Strickland was acting here. What you see now is a Sean Strickland who is 110% himself. Actually the ufc may have started to tell him to slightly act a little less Sean Strickland so they can start to market him better . Sean Strickland is a guy I admire because he walks up with millions of people watching him and is completely transparent with every subject he is asked to talk about. He's the guy we all wish we could be sometimes. The guy who says things that we the average Joe also think but have never dared to say those words outside of when we've said it in our own head to ourselves.
