I think in Ridley Scott's mind Sean Young is small potatoes compared to other actresses' he casts in his movies. Learning that Ridley wanted to date Sean Young while he was married is interesting but not surprising because there have been similar stories of women sleeping with the producers and directors to get roles. A woman years ago published a story about how she worked hard through modeling and through acting school and went to Hollywood to get on movies but she learned quickly that in order to get the prominent roles she had to sleep with movie executives of the studio to get in there. She also shared some unsettling information about actresses having to travel to the Middle East and have sex with the leaders there before coming back to the States to get the part in the movie or movies. Hollywood is more of a cult or club that prevents you from getting roles based on talent and more of what you're willing to give up to be a puppet for amusement.

Sean is right. Ridley hired an old grandpa Harrison Ford, but not Sean? She could've done so much in that movie, she still looks great and fans would've loved to see her back! Instead they made a cgi clone of her to show up for a few seconds. That's just stupid and disrespectful...

How would it make sense for an old Sean Young to be in Blade Runner if Rachel was a replicant? I don't think her not being in it had anything to do with a grudge. I read the story about Ridley, he was a super perfectionist director. The scene with the owl and the room where Ford does the test with Sean's character, there are large tapered columns. Set was built at great cost, no CGI, but when Scott showed up to start shooting, he didn't like these columns were tapering down ward, so he ordered the to change them to taper upward. It took another 2-3 days for the builders to change it, over a minor details, when the movie was way over budget and ran over time. Financers of the movie visited the set and Scott a few times complaining about the movie way overrun production! Scott didn't care, my way or the highway!
