i love Lylla and Rocket so much. ever since the telltale games flashback, ouch. i've listened to the spoilers, the trailers, the non spoilers, and i'm still going to listen to the movie when it comes to disney plus with, hopefully audio description. I'm blind, so AD is very important. Spoilers that go in sequence with the movie are a next best thing to AD, as you can sort of follow along with the movie if there's no AD on the movie itself. Oh so now they're here, and you hear the dialogue, and then you follow along with a spoiler and you know that this scene is when a thing happens. descriptive spoilers are great for this very reason, as sometimes Audio description is not provided on released movies, Zootropolis is one such, though it was provided by the BBC in my country, though not on disney plus in my country. the provision of AD is patchy at best.

I’m so happy none of the guardians died in this film. They ended everything off perfectly with every character. James Gunn perfectly settled his characters down, but also left room for more without it feeling like it’s forced. I loved this movie so very much. It meant so much to me. The emotions, the comedy, the heart - everything worked. It’s currently my second favourite MCU project, only behind Infinity War.

Just came out of it. It was a much needed “reward” after my math final. This movie had me bawling man, but it was really really great! I wish the MCU could be constantly this. For the Guardians (as we know them) final outing, and for the foreseeable future, my last MCU film, I was immensely satisfied. My one gripe is Adam tho. I think he could’ve been done better. Other than that, I’d gladly give this movie a 9/10, and it’s definitely the best MCU movie since No Way Home 👍

@@brucecrawford_17 I dunno if Deadpool 3 looks bad then this will be. I hope not, but until then it does look like this will be my last MCU movie. Everyone I cared about in this franchise has had their journey complete or story finished. Maybe there’s still more like with Spider-Man and the Guardians, but I’m fine with where they left each franchise. And Shang Chi to me will just be that random spin off that happened after Endgame, and this movie and the last two Spidey movies are epilogues. I can’t find my self to care for any of the new characters or progressing arcs (imo they did Wanda dirty, Hulk too, I don’t wanna keep seeing the destruction of those characters). So yea unless Deadpool 3 looks good this is my last MCU film 👍

@@brucecrawford_17 nope. If Tobey and Andrew show up I’ll just search up the cameos. Now if I hear She Hulk, Ms Marvel, Captain Marvel, Cassie, Strange, Wanda, and all the several other heroes sticking around getting genuinely interesting, worthwhile, entertaining arcs and conflicts, maybe, as that’s the gold of the Avengers movies. These characters coming together with their internal conflicts and personal journeys to fight one big external threat that is the central story that’s been built up to that point. But looking at Marvel’s current track record from my opinion… yea… I 110% doubt that’s gonna happen or feel earned in these next Avengers movies. Oh and imo they’re doing a very poor job of setting up Kang.

I feel like 3 important things you missed which I felt were incredibly powerful were 1) Kraglin seeing the image of his friend and mentor right after honoring his legacy, 2) Rocket with the new Guardians team playing the original song from all the way back to Guardians 1, "Come and Get Your Love", which is how all of this started and how it also ends, and 3) Groot's final words of the movie, where it's set up from the very first movie, he cannot say anything other than "I Am Groot", which is why the "We Are Groot" works so well at the end of Guardians 1, but the fact he actually speaks at the end of this one makes it so amazing, because after all this time, he only says one thing in english and it's how much he loves his family. Powerful stuff

This was my third most anticipated of 2023, and it’s currently my third favorite movie of the year. This was a truly great conclusion to these characters that have meant so much to me. It’s a movie that has all of James Gunn’s humor and mean streak, but it also has everything that made me love these characters in the first place by celebrating them for who they are. It’s a very dark film, but it’s also very uplifting by the time you get to the end of the film. There were a couple of elements that were a bit clunky, but they didn’t bother me all that much. I’m seeing the movie again tomorrow, and I’m hoping I love it just as much as I did when I saw it yesterday. I’m pretty sure this is where I’m going to leave the MCU. While I've been pretty burnt out on superhero movies in the last few years and drifted towards indie and prestige films, I can't deny the impact the original Guardians films had on me growing up. I saw Vol. 3 last night and it reminded me what it felt like to truly enjoy and lose myself in a Marvel movie, hitting me with a level of emotional depth and maturity I would expect from a different genre and target demographic. While I felt slightly underwhelmed leaving the theater, it hit me when i started crying driving home, thinking about all the memories and how much the film provided a carthisis for how much I've changed. This trilogy will always have a special place in my heart and depending on how it sits this could be my favorite MCU movie period. While it definitely wasn't perfect, it provided the satisfying high note to end on; and after this, I think I'm finally ready to say goodbye to the MCU, because it'll never be as good as this.

I really loved this movie. Loved that the tone FINALLY felt balanced. The humor was there but when it was time to get serious they never ruined it with a dumb joke. This is really what we’ve been wanting and they delivered. A fantastic trilogy to easily some of the best characters in the entire MCU run. Also loved not only Rockets arc but even Peter’s with him realizing that his Gamora is gone and making peace with it, I’m glad marvel didn’t force that relationship with the New Gamora

Can't recall if you touched on it but that one shot hallway fight scene might have been the best Marvel action scene since The Winter Soldier. A few nitpicks aside, it was so refreshing to be sitting in a theater with a good audience and watching a great marvel film. Brought me back to the phase 2&3 glory days of Marvel. Watched it last night, my goodness it was just gut-wrenching. The most emotional MCU movie thus far, a perfect ending to a trilogy. Not even remotely irritated that none of the guardians died, it was a really REALLY good movie, you don’t even need to be massively invested in the MCU to cry watching this. Adam Warlock, to me, was done perfectly. My issue with most of the recent MCU entries are that they try and shoehorn an extra new character in there that doesn’t feel overly natural. Having Adam be in the movie, while posing a real threat in some instances, but also not always showing up or stealing time away from the other characters. Overall, top 5 MCU movies, perfect trilogy ending, fighting back tears multiple times. So happy this was a brilliant film.

I'd love to see a Ravagers TV show with Stallone and Zoe Saldana leading the way, and Stallone himself is a big enough draw to make it easily the most watched Marvel show on Disney Plus. Unfortunately it's the longest of long shots that'll happen. But I love the rag tag stuff and those guys fit the definition perfectly.

The fact the original Guardians went their separate ways to find themselves personally was a very satisfying conclusion without needing to kill any of them off. I felt like if any of the OG guardians died, with all the other dark themes going on, it would've been too far in cruelty. I loved this film 9/10 definitely my third favourite MCU film. Teared up when Rocket almost died probably shows how much I care for his character. Loved his backstory felt that present day Rocket felt a bit bland compared to his other appearances that’s my only complaint of the movie though. The rest of the guardians were all great and as good as usual. Mantis has definitely grown on me with this and Guradians Holiday special. Loved how he managed to end of everyone’s character arcs without killing anyone off. The villain was purely evil which I loved. Can’t wait to rewatch this!

Imma be honest here. I thought in the last scene where Quill looks like he’s gonna die in space, I thought Gamora was gonna go out there and save him with his head piece like he did to her in the first Guardians movie. I thought that’d be a nice way of Gamora accepting of this new family that she isn’t familiar with but they still love her. Also, where was Quill’s headgear and jets boots(idk what to call them) from the first two Guardians movies, IW, and Endgame? Kinda coincidental that he doesn’t have them for this movie so it would make sense for the final scene to look as if he’s gonna die.
@JevinLevin
@JevinLevin Жыл бұрын
regarding the headgear, it got destroyed near the end of volume two and i think what happened is that the russo brothers included it in the avengers movies not realising or caring but gunn wanted to keep it destroyed for this third movie, so he somewhat retconned it back into being destroyed. thats just speculation though

Rockets final flashback where he sees all his die in front of him is probably if not one of the best scenes in the entire film. The showrunners managed to brilliantly make it dark and heartbreaking at the same time. It made me cheerful but yet tear eyed at the same time.

I took the credit scene of this movie as he’s now domesticated. It’s nothing grandiose because the grandiose thing on display is that he’s now just living an average human life. If there was a Kang connection there then that would be awesome to see or hear about but James Gunn also said he wasn’t concerned with anything beyond what he wanted to do with the guardians. I’m sure Star Lord will come back in something like The Marvels but I think he’ll come back in The Kang Dynasty and, for sure, Secret Wars. I can see his grandparents being affected or killed by a Kang variant when they invade earth 616, specifically the centurion and Star Lord going to the avengers afterwards and calling Rocket and the guardians to come to earth to help fight Kang, especially now that they have two super powerful people, Adam Warlock and Phyla Vell, on the team and they’ll need all the power they can get to fight Kang

Sean thanks so much for this review! I'm self conscious about how my thoughts jump around and I move my hands or look away from the camera, but you have similar mannerisms and I feel like I'm on the right track😅 @26:45 I think Drax has always been coded as someone on the spectrum, he says what he's thinking because he may not understand it's inappropriate. He's oblivious to metaphors and some social cues. Has sensory issues ("MY NIPPLES!!😂) So I think he's always empathized with and cared for Mantis, despite him speaking to her the way he does. He even saves her at his own expense when Ego buries them all in GotG2!

Couple thoughts and 1 suggestion for everyone (in general): 1) (my suggestion and most important for Marvel movies) = Try to skip the trailers. Try your best not to watch any of them and to avoid social media talk about these movies. The reason is, while some do trailers well, Marvel does an awful job with them. I do NOT want to enter a movie feeling like I've already seen it, and I don't want things to be placed in a trailer, but it's out of context because they need to avoid spoiling everything. I stopped watching all Marvel trailers after Eternals, and have enjoyed most of the movies since, mostly because I didn't know what to expect. Especially No Way Home, I had NO IDEA Garfield and McGuire were going to be in the movie as I didn't have social media or trailers spoil that for me, so I got to experience that live and it is an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. Try it if you can, because let's be real, most of ya'll, like me, are going to see the movie anyway, we're too invested at this point. 2) Every Marvel movie can't be Endgame. Many of these recent films have been dissected negatively, but we're in a transition where they're trying to find the next destination while finishing off arcs for the original franchises (clearly). Give Marvel time, they'll get it up and going again. 3) ROOT ROOT ROOT for James Gunn! The more successful he is in the DCU, the better quality films we will get in the MCU, because NOTHING kicks your a$$ in gear quite like competition does. Dunn did a masterful job here, and if he did this with all the red tape Marvel puts up on their movies, IMAGINE what he's going to be able to do at the DCU when he's the one running the show. I am super pumped for what is to come in the DCU now, and it will force Marvel to step their game up

I was soooo emotional during all of the runtime! The scene where Peter refuses to let go of Rocket and brings him back to life broke me to pieces)) This movie has a heart) And it's something to treasure)) I love the main message from James Gunn about found family and power of real friendship) It has no woke stuff! And its a Huge win))Gunn really pushed all the boundaries) Certain scenes are just horrifying) It was so bold) Especially for Marvel) Spoilers ahead! The whole advertising for the movie revolved around one of the Guardians dying) And it seemed kind of strange when I finished the movie) It felt like it was missing this tragic moment in the end) I think James Gunn was told not to kill any of the Guardians)It just felt like James intended to give a heroic sendoff to Quill, but was confinded by contract) Because Kevin needs to put Starlord into other projects) Personally, I think that the ending with Peter actually dying, while guardians frantically try to save him, would be poetic) The perfect ending for me - Rocket taking up the mantel of a captain in order to show his love and gratitude for Peter, so the Guardians would continue to live on) The last scene would be all the Guardians dancing to Peter's favorite music, trying to hold back the tears)) I just don't like that Marvel doesn't let go of the characters for good to cash in later) It would be so much more impactful)

This should've been example for the MCU small franchise: 1. A trilogy for solo film like this should've been standalone. This trilogy proof that could work. We don't need everything has to be related to the MCU. Save that for the team up movie and the post credit scene 2. Let the directors do their own thing. Sure, you can stop them when they get too far (looking at you Taika Waititi) but please let them give their own flavour to their own movies That way, we can get a director movie in the MCU franchise not just another MCU movie that created by MCU machine.
