I absolutely adored this movie. I saw it with my best friend and we had a blast, and especially went crazy over the post-credit scenes! Very fun overall, like you said, and while there were some issues with it such as the jumbled storylines and reshoots that made the movie kind of a mess, the story played out quite nicely and got the point across with good pacing. It's not enough to make it a bad movie. It's not a game-changer for the MCU, but a very much welcomed addition to the roster, and I really loved it and I am really excited for the future of these characters. Sure, thw villain was relatively bland in comparison with other Marvel villains, she was not the worst. There have been much worse villains in the MCU who were much more boring. At least she had a motive behind her actions, and was a descendent of a previous villain (Ronan) That made her slightly more interesting in my opinion. She was menacing and showed no mercy, which was a nice tone shift for this movie. Overall, not the best MCU movie, but a very good one that I am sure many people enjoyed it as much as we did.

Thanks for the review. Personally, from the sound of it this film represents everything that has made me disillusioned with the MCU. I'm a very busy man who doesn't want to have to watch anything to enjoy or have a movie make sense. Marvel used to understand this. There was a time when the humor of the series was fun but it begins to become grown worthy after 30 films and series. I am am not anti MCU, but hearing the description and having seen a coupke other films with similar issues, im very quickly losing faith in the franchise as a whole

I personally don't hate Love and Thunder and Wakanda Forever as much as others. Love and Thunder is one of those bad MCU films I've grown to enjoy. I love the entire Zeus scene. True, Bale was underused. Too much unnecessary humor. Didn't care for the kids scene at the end. But I don't hate it. I know everyone is hating on Taika Waititi lately but I look at Thor 4 as his mulligan. He still gave us Ragnarok and Jojo Rabbit, two of my top 30 favorite films ever. If I saw Love and Thunder playing on TV, I would stop to watch it for some scenes like the entire thing with Zeus and his Zeusettes thirsty for Thor's 🐓. I thought Valkyrie was fun in it. But yeah, it's still a bad movie. I can't excuse it for being a bad movie. Where Phase Four gets brought down... She-Hulk 🤮 Ms. Marvel Eternals Moon Knight (I hated it after Ep 1) The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (meh) Didn’t care for Hawkeye either. I found Kate Bishop to be annoying but most fans didn't when Hawkeye aired two years ago. What If...? is still quite mid and can be hit or miss with every episode. I'm not excited for their S2 next month. Their scenarios have no consequence and impact to the sacred timeline. It's like watching the Anthology of Interest I and II episodes from Futurama. Now Phase 5 only has 1 good movie as I'm hearing The Marvels is in the running for worst MCU film. Kristian Harloff who usually sounds like a shill went hard at it while Chris from Film Stocked did not and he didn't care for Blue Beetle. Perhaps level of expectations from each individual? I personally didn't care for GotG3 as much as others did and I absolutely HATED Quantumania as it made beating Kang look so easy losing from a bunch of giant ants! 🤣 I think I hate Quantumania more than The Dark World. It's like a bad Star Wars movie similar to Attack of the Clones and The Rise of Skywalker with ugly CGI. So from the 11 films after Endgame, how many rotten ones? Maybe 5? We're talking only films here... Sure fire garbage - Eternals Quantumania The Marvels Then toss in Strange 2, Thor 4, and maybe Wakanda Forever? They're really not that terrible. A generation loves the Star Wars Prequels and it only has 1 good movie out of the 3. Post-Endgame really hasn't been that bad if we don't include the worthless Disney+ series with the exception of Loki and WandaVision. Take the first three phases and you will find at least 2-3 clunkers from each one. Phase One - Incredible Hulk Iron Man 2 (I personally like this) Thor Phase Two - Iron Man 3 Thor: The Dark World Phase Three - Ant-Man and the Wasp (I still like this) Captain Marvel I personally didn't care for Homecoming. Phase Four - Eternals Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Thor: Love and Thunder Phase Five - Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania The Marvels Future MCU Films Phase Five 34. Deadpool 3 (2024) 35. Captain America: Brave New World (2024) 36. ThunderBolts (2024) 37. Blade (2025) Phase Six 38. Fantastic Four (2025) 39. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2026) 40. Avengers: Secret Wars (2027) We get only 1 MCU film in 2026 and 2027? Good. It's getting so played out. Only three that looks interesting... 1. Avengers: Secret Wars 2. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty 3. Deadpool 3 I don't care about ThunderBolts or the next Captain America film with Falcon. Fantastic Four has had two different iterations and it keeps on failing that Guardians succeeded bringing a family dynamic to MCU. Phase Four really isn't that bad but Phase Three still wins my top 10 favorite MCU projects... 1. Loki S1 & S2 (4 & 5) 2. Thor: Ragnarok (3) 3. Avengers: Infinity War (3) 4. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2) 5. The Avengers (1) 6. Captain America: Civil War (3) 7. Avengers: Endgame (3) 8. Spider-Man: No Way Home (4) 9. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2) 10. WandaVision (4) Phase One: 1 Phase Two: 2 Phase Three: 4 Phase Four: 3 Phase Five: 1 (Loki S2) Phase: 3 > 2 > 1 > 4 > 5? Or should I put 4 above 1 and 2? I only liked 5 projects from 1 and 2 combined. I like 5 projects from Phase 4 if I can include WandaVision and Loki. Then again, Phase Four still has She-Hulk.. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Not sure once we get to Secret Wars, it will set it up correctly because viewers won't care about most of the characters. And bringing dead characters will only hurt Endgame. MCU wants to milk a dead character like Star Wars does with Anakin. Bringing back Tony is a Hail Mary play. MCU film #6, #9, #13, #17, #19, and #22 are my absolute favorites. Age of Ultron (#11) and No Way Home (#27) do have these glaring flaws that prevents them from being in my top 6. I'm mostly attracted to Avengers 1, 3, & 4, Cap 2 & 3, and Thor 3. Only the Avengers films holds importance. You can argue Phase Four did start off promising specifically in 2021. WandaVision, Loki, and No Way Home are all good to me. I enjoyed Black Widow and Shang-Chi. It's the 2022 stuff like Strange 2, Thor 4, Panther 2, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk that really brought it down. Eternals from Nov 2021 is in MCU's bottom 5. I guess MCU Phase Five is now the worst one being worse than Phase Four because it has Quantumania, Secret Invasion, and The Marvels. That's 4 projects in 2023 so far and 3 of them are bad. Not sure Deadpool 3 is good enough to save it. Were people going crazy for Deadpool 2? I'll stick to Scorsese and Tarantino films like The Wager and The Movie Critic which are their upcoming films. Zemeckis has Here with Tom Hanks and Robin Wright reunited after 30 years. They maintain a higher quality. When directors rip off Marty's style, he said he doesn't watch their films because he learns nothing new from it. Most of the movies I want to see the rest of the year aren't coming from a franchise. They are not another sequel, prequel, remake, or reboot... Killers of the Flower Moon Priscilla Napoleon The Bikeriders Poor Things As Francis Ford Coppola said, you won't feel enlightened from watching the same kinds of movies over and over again. I don't even know why these KZbin reviewers are even showing us their reactions or their review for The Marvels when a lot of people will NOT see it! 🤣 It's going to flop. Why the need to tell everyone what we already know? It sucks. Move on reviewing the next film worthy of our time.

They’re simply criticizing what they see, acknowledging and elaborating on the flaws of the movie itself, not the people behind it. Wakanda Forver imo is a 5/10. However, I greatly respect that the crew still made the film given all their bad hands and all they had to deal with. I think Wakanda Forever is a 5/10 for the movie itself, not for the people working on it 👍

But when you're talking about a movie that "people knew would fail in more than one way from the very beginning" and then saying that's its "hilarious" that it turns out as expected is disappointing to me as a film fan. It's like you're actively rooting against the film from the start while all these people are working on it. Acknowledging and elaborating on flaws after you've seen the film is helpful and I'm on the same page as you are regarding Wakanda Forever. But this film has been written off as a failure for years. I like to see films actually turn out to be good and succeed despite the negative rhetoric. When it turns out they aren't good, I personally wouldn't find it hilarious, I wouldn't be laughing about its failure and by extension, the failure of those involved in making the movie. I would shake my head, offer constructive criticism and maybe stop supporting a studio that doesn't seem interested in making good movies. But a film's failure (whether it's The Marvels, The Flash, Haunting in Venice, Indiana Jones etc) isn't funny to me.

SOME SPOILERS: I feel like the movie should have began shortly after the first film but from the perspective of the Kree people or the main villain. Seeing how peaceful the people are and all the family and then seeing Captain Marvel destroy the AI and everything. It would have given us more heartbreak and emotion for the Kree people and understanding as to why the villain wanted their revenge. We would also understand why she has the nickname “The Annihilator.” This would have also fixed the issue where it felt like we were missing something in between Captain Marvel and this movie(like some people are saying this feels like Captain Marvel 3 with how much is missing). I still enjoyed the film.

I agree on what elements were good, mixed, or bad, and why, and by and large also on the final assessments. It was a fun ride. I don't regret it. 9:00 Baffling take. My sister had no problem following anything. Unless you have a deep need to know exactly - down to the nitty-gritty details - how Kamala and Monica got their powers, the film tells/shows you everything required. That said, you did list exactly which parts are relevant.

Just got back from seeing this. Movie was good, but not great. I’d probably give it a 7.5/10. Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 3 and Loki Season 2 were the 2 projects this year that I think Marvel did a great job with!

My biggest question is if you is if there was anything concerning that in hindsight you felt wasn’t great for your 9 year old? I am considering taking my 8 year old daughters just for fun (they haven’t seen any MCU). Obviously not every MCU movie is appropriate for kids under 10.

What Sean is saying about the Captain Marvel 3 is technically stuff and consequences of events that occurred in the first film?! I don't think they are meant to signify another event after that film specifically. The stuff that happend with Jude Law's character and finding out about Carol's earth memories in that film past is directly linked to the events he is talking about. Though, there is one new scene added to make the narrative for this film tie in more clearly.

Kamala is the best part of the movie because she's the only RELATABLE character. She's human, has flaws, etc. That was the magic from most of the golden years of Marvel. Aside of Kamala and Peter Parker, NONE of the current characters have it.

I'm gonna see it with no expectations because I'm tired of the whiny ass MSheU haters. Especially those who want this movie to suck and bomb at the box office just so they can taunt Marvel and more importantly, Brie Larson, like five year olds more than they already do. I know how hypocritical I sound considering I wanted The Flash movie to bomb because I didn't want WB to keep that POS even after they reboot the DCEU. But that's the difference. Brie Larson hasn't done anything wrong. Her words were taken out of context and seems to have an awkward personality and I can understand how that can rub people the wrong way. I don't have the mental capacity to explain it further and would rather recommend watching the second part of CinemaWins' Captain Marvel video he gives the movie fair criticism while also examining why people hate her so much.

I saw this last night and thought it was a real mess. No character development, no emotion, nothing was really explained. It was just a collection of stuff. The cuts and reshoots are obvious. I'm actually surprised Marvel have put it out in this state. Very disappointing.

Definitely going to be the first MCU film I skip. I am tired of the poor quality content since End Game. I think there have been 3 or 4 watchable movies since 2019 and maybe 1 or 2 good movies. The rest of been let downs or just okay.

Dude, you need to work for Marvel. You just made the perfect pitch for both Ms Marvel season 2 with Kamala and Monica (and then bring Carol Danvers switcheroo at the end of that) AND Captain Marvell 2 ( which would have set up a proper introduction of Dar-Benn and Carol's off-world adventures and ended with her switcheroo with Kamala and Monica - just as Carol reaches the cliffhanger realization she was gonna need more firepower) AND THEN stitch the 3 Marvels to together in "Captain Marvel 3" (continuing the Dar-Benn fight). Excellent breakdown. One thing: Carol has always been awkward and weird. And although she had a connection with Fury in the first movie, she was a bit of a weird chick even then and throughout the Infinity Saga......

Ultimately we do not have superhero fatigue evidenced by box office performance of sub mediocre products from these large Movie Houses. What we have is writer, screenplay, producer fatigue that is taking the audience for granted. We need to actively reject these projects This genre is not dead.. We can have well writer low budget movies in this genre outplaying Marvel and DCEU reboot 10 across global cinema if we would just look. Western audience give these movies a watch or rewatch 1. Minnal Murali - Netflix, Language Malayalam 2. Maaveran - Amazon Prime, Language Tamil 3. Chronicle - not sure where its streaming but I regularly watch my dvds.. Language English. 4. Leo - currently in Theatres, Language Tamil. As an adaptation from History of Violence Graphic Novel it's a bloody fun ride 5. RRR - I Keep going back to this. Streaming on Prime and Netflix in Telegu and Hindi and other languages.

I saw this movie and this movie is not perfect I agree but it's definitely better than some people are saying I think people just hating it because it's the first movie and what they do with the characters and because of the reason mcu films I don't care I don't care how bad people say the movies are going to be I'm going to still be here and watch him just to see what I think of it so I don't like to guys if you see this with you don't let people's opinions revenue opinion because that's what it's called opinion guys we can have our opinion as so they can have their's I think it's a fun movie you guys can disagree but in my opinion is a fun 8.5 look it has got his issues I will agree I think it does have I do think it struggles who's on things but I don't think quite well they don't quite give miss marvel and the one Wanda I keep forgetting a name but at the end of the day this movie is not bad it's better than the first one by quite a bit but the first one wasn't bad
