Exactly, now let's assume something, let's assume that there was a saga before the infinity saga, and let's say that the saga before the infinity saga was done really well, and everyone loved it. Now, when the infinity saga came, everyone would have complained as they complain now, because at phase 1 you have good movies like iron and captain America, but then you have iron man 2, Thor and hulk, at that time people would have said that the mcu was failing on releasing good movies, and then you have the avengers film, which hypes up every one, but then you have iron man 3, Thor the dark world and avengers 2, at this point, most of the fans would be complaining about the mcu and they would say that it is dying.

Now you see the pattern here, the reason the infinity saga wa successful wasn't only because of the build up, or that there were some good movies, it was because it wa something new that we didn't seen before, if the multiverse saga was the first films from the mcu, the opinions would be different, I mean, some people would still criticise some shows and films, but not as the level is criticized today (after endgame). I'm not saying we shouldn't criticise the films that are not that good, but we should have a wither view, rather than looking at the critics and some channel and say, 'tHE mcU iS dyInG'.

If I’m being completely honest, whatever hope, interest, or anything else I had for the MCU going forward died after watching Quantumania. I still think the movie was fine, but the only selling point was really Kang. Even then, I wasn’t entirely sold on this character simply because I felt no stakes throughout the movie. I was underwhelmed. Majors was great as Kang, but Kang wasn’t given the best intro possible imo. Even tho I know what he is or rather will be as someone who has read some comics. Also, I’m simply not excited by the stuff that’s coming. I hear Loki, Marvels, Agatha, Secret Invasion, etc etc and am just unmoved or unfazed. I literally just sit there thinking “meh”. I am looking forward to Guardians Vol. 3 tho. I will see that. And Deadpool 3 if it’s good, tho I think that’s Phase 6. Regardless, my love for the Infinity Saga and the Marvel universe as a whole will never go away, and I’m still super pumped for other Marvel projects like Across the Spider Verse and Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 👍

I'm optimistic about anything with Kang for sure, Jonathan Majors has shown he can do his part and he's going to be a good threat and a great villain. I'm anxious to see how they'll do with the heroes going forward, and to be clear I didn't hate phase 4 it was just very inconsistent and bipolar (Top tier stuff like No Way Home, and bottom tier stuff like She Hulk)

I don’t take what other people say about movies too seriously. A lot of movie detractors are talentless people that have never done anything creative in their lives and their whole reason for being is to crap on everybody else. I’ve liked movies that other people don’t like but when it comes to sci-fi or superhero movies I check my criticism at the front door and try to enjoy whatever I’m watching. People act like superhero and sci-fi movies should be like Citizen Cane and be the greatest thing ever made instead of just enjoying what they’re watching and suspend disbelief.

I feel they can play around with the fact that Janet didn’t know about Kang at the point of Ant Man and the Wasp, due to the Avengers changing the timeline with Loki being free and then He Who Remains dying, which is why Janet suddenly remembers Kang post endgame

I am of a similar viewpoint. One of the reasons for Marvel's success is they ALWAYS adjust according to what the fans say. For example, when Thor 2 was not well accepted, they brought in Waititi to change Thor in Ragnarok. People seemed to like it, so they let Waititi do another movie, but he misunderstood why people liked his 1st movie and put too much of the "wrong" stuff in Love and Thunder. So Marvel IMMEDIATELY removed him from future Thor projects. They listened to us! The problem is movie production takes years and we all live in a instant gratification society. So we feel Marvel is not making changes fast enough, but they literally postponed ALL their projects and even canceled some because of fan reaction. They ARE listening, as they have in the past, and I will wait a little more before deciding to stop watching the MCU to see their next set of changes.

I am actually more excited after watching Quantumania, and wanted to see more of Scott (Ant-Man) & Hope (Wasp) in the future. I know Scott already joined the Avengers in Civil War & Endgame. But Hope the Wasp gets her chance to shine too with the Avengers in Kang Dynasty & Secret Wars.

Five years from now, Quantumania may just be the Age of Ultron of the Multiverse Saga. Where the consequences of the film's events are gonna be felt for the rest of saga to come. Maybe.

After Quantumania, I feel that the Multiverse Saga is really suffering from its only official Avengers-type crossover event being Kang Dyansty and Secret Wars at the very end of the saga. Instead of having Phases 4 and 5 build up to smaller Avengers movies that can be dedicated to progressively building up to the next Endgame-level event, they have to hijack regular releases like Multiverse of Madness and Quantumania to give exposition, which has made this current overarching story feel very rushed and hollow so far.

When it comes to Endgame, there's a thing you don't seem to see: *Edit* TL;DR at the end. There's a lot of time passing between when Tony arrived and gives the Shield back to Cap, and when they finally go back in time. During this time they build en entirely new Quantum Tunnel. They reached out and brought in Thor and War Machine. Nat found and brought Clint back. They spent time brainstorming and formulating the plan. Tony took the time to record a message to be played in case he doesn't make it back from the mission. All of these didn't take a couple of hours, not even a couple of days. To me it's fair to assume that it's during this period that Tony, confident enough that it would work, but not confident enough on his survival (that he took the time to record the message) that he made the program to give to Peter. Maybe hoping it wouldn't come to it. That's the thing to consider too. He didn't know Thanos would attack because as far as he knew Thanos was dead. He recorded the message in case he succeeded but didn't come back from the mission. That said their was a high chance of him coming whole. Where I'm going with it is that he made the program to give the glasses as a "just in case" thing, whilst being confident it wouldn't come to it. Had Nebula never been caught, that would've been the case. Well, it took a lot of words to put this idea into words, but to me it was quite fair to assume the big lines. In the end, adding clarity within Endgame as to how much time passed in between Tony arriving in his Audi and the group leaving. And some clarification could've been added in FFH. Cheers from France! 🍻 *Edit* TL;DR When Tony did it? Probably when he recorded the message. Why? He was pretty confident it would work and survive, but did it just in case. Considering he couldn't know Thanos would come back from the dead.

Because Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania underwhelmed me so much, I’m pretty sure that I’m going to stop watching the MCU after Guardians Vol. 3. The MCU just doesn’t excite me much anymore. The excitement from the fans isn’t really there anymore, the forward momentum isn’t there anymore, and the quality isn’t there anymore. I’ll always love the first three phases of the MCU, but with their best years behind them, I don’t really care anymore. For all of you who want to continue with this franchise, I wish you good luck and hope it gets better. Just understand that the MCU isn’t part of what makes me love movies anymore.

I think it’ll probably take a while before the MCU actually gets some good content again. With the announcement of so many delays on their projects, I think Bob Iger really wanted to scale back and focus on the quality instead. The beginning of phase 5 might still be rough, and there’s some serious red flags with some of the writers for later series, but I do think they’ll end off strong. Bob Iger is only here to get everything back on track and find a new (and hopefully good) successor.

I'm kinda split. If I look at average of the ratings I would give the projects in phase 4 it's the second best Phase for me. But I feel like the clear focus is gone a bit. I really hope we get that focus back because I really like many of the projects the MCU has put out, but they also kinda underwhelmed me a bit with the movies that seemed like they were really starting the overall saga(Dr Strange 2, Ant Man 3(I liked Ant man 3, but still...))

Personally, I think back to Phase 1. Did those movies seem to have "focus"? Not really. It was not until Avengers 1 we saw the overarching Thanos/Infinity Stone storyline coming to play. That's 5 movies (an entire Phase) before the tie-in movie was released. So I see Phases 1-3 as Season 1, with Thanos as the main villain. Phase 4-6 seem like Season 2 with Kang. The first phase is always to set up the story and the new heroes. So that to me is why Phase 4 had no focus. The focus was just introducing characters so when Kang Dynasty movie comes out, we can get right into the action. There were some Midling movies and shows. But Marvel heard us and will re-calibrate for future stuff. Let's reassess then how much we enjoy it

The Only Explanation I Can Think Of For That Janet Thing In Quantumania Is There Are Layers To The Quantum Realm Where Time Works Differently. Scott Was Probably In The Less Deep Area Where Time Moved The Faster, Rtather Than Where Janet Was, So Not As Many Threats Down There Would Notice Him. 5 Years Was 5 Hours For Him, But Where Janet Was, 30 Years Was 30 Years. Plus She Supervised In That Project So She Could Make Sure They Did It Right Without Drawing Attention.

People are being too pessimistic, phase 4 was a transitional phase, it was the aftermath of Endgame, and the introduction of new MCU heros, however I will concede the content in this phase was high too high and too much going on overall. So many shows and movies, it was a bit ridiculous I have to admit. Phase 5 as planned introduces the new avengers level threat. It's still all calculated, though yes, I do have to scratch my head about the still interfering with the Quantum realm and all that stuff even after Endgame events. Slowing down on releasing of shows and movies is the right move, there was simply too much content and being pushed out too fast in phase 4, way too fast.

I don't think there is really an inconsistency between Antman & the Wasp/Endgame and Quantumania regarding Janet. She didn't care that they were doing stuff with the quantum realm, or even going into it. Her issue in this movie was that there were sending out a signal deep into trying to touch all areas that also led right back to their location. Them just opening a doorway and going into the quantum realm was alerting anyone to their location, but a homing signal led Kang right to them. That's why there were no issues from them using the tech up until that point as well.

At this point? The only 2 Marvel movies that I am really excited for are Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. In my opinion, they have lost their magic since Endgame. But, I have never hated any Marvel or DC movies for that matter. Just certain movies? I have had much higher expectations than a lot of their outcomes. I just hope they get their magic back soon.

Infinity Saga. 10 years of build up from 2008 to 2018 in Endgame. Multiverse Saga. 5 years of build up with twice the content from 2021-2025 in Secret Wars.

Imo phase 4 wasn't that bad. I liked the more solo focus on characters like She-Hulk, Shuri, Ms Marvel, Captain America or Kate Bishop as their stories just worked well for me. Even my favourite projects with The Guardians duology and the first ant-man weren't extremely tied to everything else going on. But Quantumania was maybe the worst mcu movie imo. The writing, world building and most performances felt rushed and weak. Even Kang's dialogue was laughably bad in my opinion and Scott vs Kang was ruined by Hope showing up to save him. As a guy who's been hardcore reading marvel comics for 7 years I really don't like Kang as he is just far too messy and complicates for no reason at all and so far it seems they are going down that very bad path. The first ant-man was a cornerstone in me getting into cinema and seeing the trilogy conclude this way really upset me. With some of my personal least favourite writers in recent memory attached to both Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, I just can't find myself excited for. The only upcoming projects I can find myself to even be excited for are Guardians 3, Daredevil: Born Again, Echo and maybe Wonder Man. Apart from that I am just not excites in the slightest with many of the past and present decisions being made

Actually I think it's not only about quality but also a certain degree of emotion related to the audience which they captured us with films like infinity war, endgame and no way home . So it's really really hard to come out with something like that every time. But nevertheless I am still excited for the upcoming Marvel movies and hope they bring us back to this emotion once again.

Alright, I have to be honest here. I won't argue with the Far From Home thing, but the Quantum Realm Janet point is kind of flimsy. In the mid-credit scene for Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scott was only supposed to be in the Quantum Realm for 10 seconds. It was literally an in-and-out kind of mission. The only reason why he was stuck there for so long was because Hank, Hope, and Janet got blipped. Also, in Quantumania, the characters shrunk to an incredibly small size, going past Sub-Atomica. Going past Sub-Atomica would lead directly to where Kang and his empire were, and neither Scott nor Hank had gone that far before Quantumania. I apologize if this explanation was sloppy. I'm not the best at articulating points, but I did feel it was necessary to point this out. TL:DR Janet never opposed Scott going into the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and the Wasp because he wasn't going too deep and he was only planning on being in there for a fraction of a minute.

I think that phase 5 will have a more cohesive story, but the content itself won't be very good just because Disney and Marvel haven't been making quality projects with consistent tones and writing. So I am excited for the eventual endgame in Phase 6, but I don't think the specific projects in Phase 5 will be good overall.

I think the new star in the MCU should be Mr. Fantastic aka Reed Richards. The way John Crusinski portrayed him in Doctor Strange Multiverse In Madness made me believe he can be the leader; that paternal figure in the MCU.

I think think it is possible for Marvel to stay in top at least for another decade if they prioritize story from the comics and character devopment over all this modern Identity Politics Disney has been trying to push, most fans of Marvel do not want to watch movies and shows where they are preached to about these things. They are great stories and awesome characters in the comics that I know fans including myself would love to see brought into the MCU as long as its done right. It is too easy the source material is right there in the comics.

I really hope that we get new writer(s) for Kang Dynasty, I bet that Jeff Loveness probably can write a good movie, but I have no trust in him going from Quantumania to Kang Dynasty. Overall, I just want Marvel to hire more credible writers for their projects. They got lucky in The Infinity Saga, but with the juggernaut Marvel is now, it shouldn't be that big of an issue to get writers and directors with some credit on their names

Yeah, that’s pretty much my take in fandom. If you’re going to criticize, make and effort to make sure it’s constructive and helpful, not just to mark an agenda against diversity. @@michaelnally2841 Actually they have been box office bombs because Disney, who owns Marvel has to not only spend money on production costs, but they also have to pay distribution( paying a portion of the film’s profits to the owners of all theatres it was played on) and combined the total budget of these movies are far higher than just the production. Black widow, Shang-chi, Eternals, ant-man 3 have all failed to break even in these costs, even Spider-Man No way home was produced by Sony, so Disney only got a small portion of the money. Did I mention that Disney lost 4 billion dollars on the Marvel tv shows in 2021 alone? You need to do more independent research on the financial state of the MCU right now because it really is not good.

SPOILER DISCUSSION OF QUANTUMANIA: I don't think Janet knew about Kang in Antman 2. After Endgame is Loki Season 1 where Sylvie killed He Who Remains and brought back all the Kangs that were "erased" earlier by the TVA. The Kangs did not exist in Antman 2 but now it is Back to the Future logic that now Janet HAD interacted with Kang in the Quantum Realm only because Sylvie changed the past. That is at least what I thought, and the KZbin channel, New Rockstars, also felt that way too.

I honestly love the concept of Kang's character. I would love this saga if it was basically, Loki, Quantumania, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Moon Knight, Fantastic Four, Secret Invasion, Kang Dynasty, and Secret Wars. The rest feels so apart that I couldn't care less based on what they've done so far.

Just saw Jesus Revolution. Highly recommend it. As a film, it is one of the best Faith Based movies I have seen. Good story, well paced, avoids cliches and stereotypical stuff. It's pretty down to earth and grounded. The acting is phenomenal. All of the leads deliver a great performance. The score is great and compliments the film well. Go check it out!

I'm taking a hiatus from the MCU. Mainly because the comedy was overstaying its welcome in some Phase 4 properties and some movies were fun (No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness and Shang Chi) But they feel like they've lost the magic after Endgame said their farewells to some of these characters. Unless its a movie that Has to be experienced in theaters, I'll most likely wait until they're available to stream.

think Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania is hands down the best MCU film of Phase 5 so far… I agree with your thoughts and criticisms. For me, I felt that Ant-Man 3 was a missed opportunity to really set the stakes high and make us feel the danger of Kang, but unfortunately it felt more underwhelming because once again, the MCU played it too safe… I’m still excited and hopeful for Phase 5 but I’m becoming more and more concerned about their lack of quality! There has been so many projects since Endgame, but in all honesty, only Spider-Man No Way Home has genuinely impressed me. That’s not a good sign? I’m happy that the MCU is going to slow down a bit though so I hope this works… There’s a lot of potential here and there’s a lot to be excited for but they need to up their game again! I feel that superhero fatigue is kicking in now though unfortunately for the majority of audiences…

The MCU has fully committed to a direction called the multiverse. Something that is so “Science fiction” like is going to ultimately lose the general audience. It is unavoidable. It is very hard for the average fan to connect with this, much less even really understand this. What I believe drew audiences is that these characters were relatable and there seemed to be stakes. But the multi-verse kind of removes all of this. When there are multiple versions of characters and nothing seems permanent in regards to stakes and characters sacrificing themselves it gets very hard to care. But ultimately for the fans that buy into the multiverse thread will be happy, but the audiences will shrink. It doesn’t really mean it is broken, but it means that when a franchise goes this far into sci-if the casual movie goers will check out. Not to mention these movies are so interconnected now, that if you fall behind in this, a lot of audiences give up keeping up. I really hope that the MCU resets and gets more grounded after this. It is a good time to reintroduce a new MCU with X-men included the right way. Get a new set of the main heroes as it will be 25 years by the time a new iron man is introduced. It will allow people to get back on board and start a new generation of fans.

I mean the main final but with kang, was seriously brutal and very serious and there wasn't one joke in that whole fight scene. I'm still really hyped for the future

To your point about the MCU lacking that ONE titular character, that one focal point just like Tony and Steve were as characters, I hate to point out the obvious but I think there’s a very good chance one of those characters would’ve been Chadwick as T’Challa. His passing had to have changed soooooo much in terms of the narrative In regards to who I believe it’ll be, it’s quite simple for me; Reed Richards will be THE character. He not only is the head of Marvel’s first family, but he’s one of Marvel’s most prominent characters period as an individual. For decades when someone in the Marvel universe needed help solving a problem, you go to Reed Richards. He can interact with ANYONE in some capacity. Not to mention, he IS even smarter than Tony Stark so his technological and scientific discoveries will be profound. And I’m still holding on to hope that it was him who has the Avengers tower now, but has been rebranded into the Baxter Building

Oddly enough after the love Thanos got, Marvel seemed to replace their star in RDJ with a villain in Johnathon Majors and they are overselling him tbh. They need more than him. I think Tom Hiddleston could be a big draw at the box office but for whatever reason, they don't want to turn Loki season 2 into a movie. They should make a season of Moon Knight season 2 into a movie with Oscar Isaac and have him fight Ramu Tut Kang. Like there are things they can do but instead, they want to make shows like Echo which nobody, and I mean nobody is asking for.

Most of the fans complaining as phase 4 isn't as good as phase 3. Make the comparison even. Phase 3 had cumulative stories from phase 1 and 2. And some projects in phase 1 and 2 weren't that good. If they're going to compare phase 3 to anything isn't it only fair they compare it with phase 6 which hasn't even began as we've just only entered phase 5.

I loved Quantumania and I don't think it fair to say Ant-Man didn't learn to tone down the humor when one could argue Ant-Man is the one who brought the humor to the MCU and the rest copied off them. Or specifically Taiki Waititi def copied Ant Man formula when he made Ragnorok and TLnT. But I will agree there are 2 scenes in the 3rd act that cut the tension and both involved Cassie who I liked this movie but they were so close to really nailing that 3rd act which was a huge issue with the last couple phases in MCU actually. They need to stop cutting the tension. In fact Ant Man moved at such a breakneck pace it was insane, they should of made the movie longer. Another issue I am noticing is they have to really do a better job of spelling things out for the audience because there are so many critiques of QM which are just wrong or answered in the movie but it's implied and not overt. Like for instance, Janet was fine when she was monitoring them going into the QR and coming right back out, what she freaked out about was them doing it behind her back and sending a signal which transmitted like a beacon across the entire QR and then back to them. Like trying to get away in a boat at night is not the same as building a lighthouse and broadcasting ur presence.
