More great work Sean! Always trying to incorporate some of your tips. Can't wait to see the full paint video and the cricut markings...that damn cricut is the bane of my existence, I still struggle trying to use it (even with your old vid on it). Anyway, fantastic work on this Corsair so far.

Always an informative enjoyable video tutorial, Sean. The pilot figure looks amazing. I built two of the 1/32 Tamiya F4U-1Ds in an unconventional way as subjects. One posed in flight with pilot figure the other, wings folded. One aspect I liked was the surface allowed for removing material to create stressed skin effects without having to redo the detail.I found the Tamiya Corsair kits and the 1/32 Mosquito to be two of the best engineered/enjoyable models to build of their latest 1/32 WW2 series.

Hi Sean, the Corsair is looking good , it is one of my favourite US WWII aircraft, mainly because my home country New Zealand flew them in the Pacific, looking to your next video, very best regards from Australia, Les

I'm always happy to see your work. I wonder why you don't use magnets for pilots and / or ejection seats. You are master of it. I use them and work fine. You can pull the pilot/ seat out and show the cockpit details as well. 👍
@seanerk5kt9Ай бұрын
@@farflyer I never thought of that. I typically only use magnets to attach bombs and external stores on models that I intend to sell. That makes it easier for me to ship them. You have an interesting idea though.

I think I mentioned on the first part I’m literally in the middle of a 1/32 scale course from Tamia. I’m using voice text so I know how to spell it but it’s not capturing it. Lol. Anyways this has been very helpful because I painted some of theinterior parts on accident and the little bit of gap that the paint created cause some sea issues so I’m having to go prescribe it later and fix it all, but I haven’t really practiced that a whole lot so thanks for the video.

love tuning in! I first prime the model with gray Mr. Surfacer 1500. It seems like 50/50 mixing ratio gives best coverage(maybe just a touch more thinner after 50/50). I get the occasional spatter with this mix. If I go like 60/40 it goes on thin and poor coverage. Sometimes after cleaning and starting over it lays down good with the 50/50. Do you find its a bit tricky to spray, and any advice? thanks..rob
@seanerk5kt9Ай бұрын
@@Plydrms it can be a bit tricky. You have to find the right air pressure for the airbrush you’re using. I use an Iwata HP-CS with a .3 mm nozzle/ needle and my air pressure is set at 13 psi. I typically mix 40-30 paint to 60-70 thinner ratio to start off. I also don’t just blast it on opting to go slow to get the coverage that I want. Once it get the model completely covered, I’ll thin it to almost 90 percent thinner then spray the entire model to even out the coat. Once dry, I’ll sand the entire model with a 4000 grit sanding cloth. That gives me an extremely smooth finish. I’ve already primed this one and didn’t cover that part but will be sure to demonstrate it on the next one I do.
@PlydrmsАй бұрын
@seanerk5kt9 yes, thanks. I have the Iwata neo, .3mm. I think that Mr Surfacer dries quickly on the needle too. I use the leveling thinner to retard. It still builds up on needle though.
@seanerk5kt9Ай бұрын
@ you may already be doing it, but if not, try blowing out just air a few seconds everytime after you stop spraying paint. That’ll blow off excess wet paint still on the tip. May help

Sean, Just out of curiosity (and I apologize if I missed it) why did you fill in the step hole on the right side flap? I don't know that I've ever seen a Corsair that didn't have that, so I had to ask.
