As asked, here it Is: - Aang is from the Southern Air Temple. - The refugees, like Teo and the Mechanist, have made a home at the Northern Air Temple. - The Guru resides in the Eastern Air Temple - The Gaang here are at the Western Air Temple, the temple closest to the Fire Nation.
@briandavi13 жыл бұрын
I think part of the confusion was arising from Aang's familiarity with the temples. Before the war, Aang visited and lived in all of the temples. They were called Air Nomads for a reason. The one he called home, with Monk Gyatso, was the Southern Temple. But Appa was raised in the Eastern Temple, and that's where they met.
@vindifference3 жыл бұрын
Also, it's easy to remember. They started the journey in the south pole and they visited Aang's home first; so his home is southern. The temple they visited right before getting to the north pole is naturally the northern one. The current temple is the western one, so by elimination, the guru was at the eastern one.
@TheBc993 жыл бұрын
@@vindifference Also they visit the Eastern while they're at Ba Sing Se, which is in the east, and the Western while they're in the Fire Nation, which is in the west.

I love the attention to detail when it came to making the air temples distinctive. If you ever rewatch, notice details like that the North and South temples are the home of male monks while the East and West are for female monks, based on the statues.
@TheFrizor3 жыл бұрын
Yup The Southern air temple is really close to the southern north pole, and it's the place they visit in the third episode The northern one is by the north pole (right before the season one finale) Eastern is semi-near to Ba Sing Se Western is close to the fire nation

Everyone loves Katara's "I will bloodbend you into a fucking raisin" threat. Only a few minutes earlier she doesn't know how to threaten him when he first tries to join the Gaang. My interpretation is that she's a very kind and loving person at heart, but she is prepared to steel herself if the people she loves are threatened.

Yeah, she was definitely in the mind space of . . . . "If you even THINK of hurting MY MAN again, I will disembowel you!" that 2nd time around. I would say, she doesn't HAVE to "steel herself" when the people the loves are threatened. In THAT circumstance, it just naturally comes out. But she DOES have to, in order to "fake it" in different circumstances, because of her gentle nature doesn't jive with being threatening.

1. Southern Air temple - Aang's home. Very close to southern water tribe. That's why Katara and Sokka, the southern watertribers found him. 2. Eastern Air Temple - Appa's home. After picking Aang, Appa moved to the southern air temple. During Apparently lost days, this is the temple which Appa returns to and finds Guru Pathik. This is also the temple where Aang tried to open his chakras with Guru Pathik. In the beginning, when Aang originally ran away, they were going to send him to the Eastern Air temple to further his training. It is also the closest temple to the earth kingdom. 3. Northern Air Temple - This is where the mechanic and his son live with a bunch of other earth kingdom refugees. The Gaang came here towards the end of season 1 it was ep 17. They had the huge sky battle here where The Gaang used Hot air balloons and ended up blowing the mountain to win the battle but the fire nation got the technology of hot air balloons as a direct result of this conflict. This temple is the closest to the northern water tribe. 4. The Western Air Temple - This is the first time they visited this temple in the show. It's empty just like the other ones except the northern one. It is upside down tho which is pretty cool. This is where the Gaang was joined by Zuko. It's also the closest non fire nation owned land to the fire nation. Which is why Aang decided to go here when they needed to retreat after the battle. Another fact, the Western Air temple was the first to fall during the air bender genocide because it was the closest one to the fire nation and all the other ones where high up in the mountains but this one was the most reachable. Since it was the first one attacked and defeated, the fire nation has know about it, where it is, how to get there and that it's empty for 100 years. That's why Zuko went there first after he was banished. He needed to get out of the nation quick but also needed a place to stay and rest till his eye healed and and he could get there easily since they've know how for 100 years.

And he had a personal vendetta against the gaang, because they hurt him when toph hit him with a pebble. That’s why he didn’t care if he was ordered to stop Aang is from the southern air temple The earth kingdom survivors live in the northern air temple The guru lives at the eastern air temple And the gaang is now hiding in the western air temple, the closest one to the fire nation Speaking of the western air temple, it was made for airbenders, the air nomads were the only nation that its population were all benders

Aang is from the Southern Air Temple, that's why it was their first stop after leaving the South Pole in the beginning of the series. The Northern Air Temple is where the Mechanist lived, it was one of their last stops in Season 1 before arriving at the North Pole. The Eastern Air Temple is where the Guru lived, it's not too far from Ba Sing Se, which is in the Eastern Earth Kingdom. So the one they're at now is the Western Air Temple, which is not too far from the cluster of islands in the west that make up the Fire Nation.

I just realized, we never see the side characters (Haru, The Duke, Teo) react to Zuko joining them, or his proposal to join them. They were mostly just exploring the temple. I wonder how that went down. “Guys! Holy shit! Zuko’s here! We gotta do some-!” “No, it’s okay! He’s with us.” “Wait, what?!” “Yeah, he’s gonna teach Aang firebending. And he helped us take down Combustion Man.” “Who?” “Oh yeah, this assassin guy Zuko hired with metal limbs who could blow stuff up with his brain.” “Metal li-? With his brai-? HE hire-?!...you know what? Never mind.”
@rdennis13 жыл бұрын
I mean, none of these characters had any experience with Zuko. He wasn't involved in Haru's prison escape, the Duke wasn't around when Jet teamed up with him and fought him, he wasn't involved in the attack on the Northern Air Temple, and he was busy resolving his daddy issues during the invasion. 5:40 Unlike the rest of the nations, every single Air nomad was a bender due to their greater spiritual connection. So having upside down buildings wasn't really an inconvenience.

I can't wait for you to watch every episode of this show and Korra, but I also don't want you to be done with the shows eventually.

That’s my feeling too! But we got AVATAR studios at Paramount + and a bunch of other cool shows, so we’ll always be here!

The Combustion Man was really just ignoring Zuko and hell bent on killing Aang and the gang because last time they encountered him they beat him both hurting him and humiliating him so it was personal.

I think if I remember correct from lore the North and South Temples were where the monks lived and the East and West Temples were where the nuns lived so it's more like a 'Marilyn Monroe secret sex room'

I think Sparky Sparky Boom Man was still attacking them because Toph hit his third eye earlier. It’s a personal vendetta at this point.

Them- He doesn't have a lot to learn. Me- *Laughs in Korra* Afterall, she's still Aang, right?

There is fanmade comic that explores a reverse alternate reality, where Aang is still himself, but many others are on an opposite role. You'll find a Dark Katara there ;)

You know the name of it!?

@@SeanTanktop I'm not sure which one they meant specifically, but there's one called Avatar: Distorted Reality (tapas.io/series/Avatar-Distorted-Reality/info ) where Aang teams up with Zuko and Azula against the dark versions of Katara and Sokka. I think that's the one they're talking about?
