I saw this decades ago! This was awesome! Diane was a Maverick in her efforts to observe, study and protect the mountain Gorillas! What an Amazing woman she was! Dedicated her Life to her passion, which inevitably brought about her gruesome death! Her efforts and sacrifice enlightened the entire world to the bleak future of this magnificent creature. Diane may be gone, but her spirit will live as long as her beloved Mountain Gorillas continue to survive!

It's amazing how much we have learned since then. Especially about orangutans. Many of the things they believed then turned out to not be true.

Great strides have been made to protect these creatures, but we're still on the brink of the sixth great extinction. It's heartbreaking. And infuriating, actually. Happy trails, all.

Thank you so much for uploading this. This has always been one of my many favorite National Geographic Specials. A true classic that never gets old. Say I was wondering, do you have "The Soviet Circus" and "The Grizzlies" by any chance?

Jeremy Brackeen I do. I’ve had some of the uploads removed but some are still left alone. I’ve stopped because I don’t want my channel deleted.

old VHS version ideal version watch if it originally came out on VHS because version which might be on DVD or BLU-RAY might be shorter than VHS version because it might been edited which happens sometimes. only time should get HD version is if it originally came out both VHS and DVD but personally pefer old fashioned VHS National Geographic specials like this one.
