I found out a long time before I discovered Orthodoxy is that forgiveness is less for the forgiven and more for the person who forgives. Forgiveness removes the bitterness from our hearts that hurts our relation with God and with others. We are commanded to love and when we do, we ourselves are healed by love we show others. I'm not sure if this is how Orthodoxy teaches forgiveness and love but I found it often to be true.❤☦

2 Peter 1:3-5 God Has Given Us Everything We Need 3 Jesus has the power of God. And his power has given us everything we need to live a life devoted to God. We have these things because we know him. Jesus chose us by his glory and goodness, 4 through which he also gave us the very great and rich gifts that he promised us. With these gifts you can share in being like God. And so you will escape the ruin that comes to people in the world because of the evil things they want. 5 Because you have these blessings, do all you can to add to your life these things: to your faith add goodness; to your goodness add knowledge; rcc and orthodox say they have more. they do not.

I'm sorry but I find it a peculiar innovation, to let a lay person say the prayer, in the presence of a canonical Orthodox priest, maybe I'm a conservative Orthodox Christian from the old world, but it's truly bizarre

I understand what you mean, but Dr. Jeannie opens every one of her shows with the same prayer and typically does not have a guest present.

@@sofiebult Thank you for judging me and condemning me, I truly appreciate it. I'm from the old world and we do things a bit more traditional than in the new world. I know her, I've watched her videos elsewhere and she's a great scholar no doubt
