we enjoy your videos very much. Cemetaries/ graveyards need recorded. do you know who could be contacted to set up an official way to get these cleaned up? This is our history no matter what color you are. These cemeteries are all over. We watch other youtubers who find these and record the info. Someone needs to set up a business that goes around and properly cleans them. Any ideas?

I don't see these old places as creepy, but sad that they have deteriorated nearly to the point that their story is soon to be (if not already) forgotten. Thank you for bringing their history back to life! I enjoy your videos immensely! Blessings!

The timing of the train whistle while you were at the head stones added to the creepiness--but also the sense of resilience & beauty of those stones & their oak guardian....

I often think that because I live a stones throw away from the railway in the UK. Going to work early morning I'd cross a footbridge over the line. And when it's pitch black a freight train is usually underneath as I walk over. Then the freight train slowly moves away and the noise with the grinding of steel and iron is kinda creepy.

I froze the screen at the moss-covered epitaph. I think it says “To do justice and judgement is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice”. Also, I wonder if the guy that died in 1861 was a Civil War soldier. He was about 20.

The headstone I'm seeing now, seems to say, "that justice and judgment is more acceptable to the land than sacrifice." Having worked for close to 20 years at the National Archives in Washington D.C., I always brought items I might need. Noticing you don't. And, having watched your vlogs for awhile, I do have a few suggestions. On a tool belt, you wear around your waist, I carried pruners (for thorny tree stems), a Fiskers tree trimmer (very light weight), a spray bottle (for spraying the headstone), a brush for lightly scraping the stone, a hand rake and shovel (for scraping debris away), parchment paper with a construction pencil, and last but not least, I've seen you beginning to use a flashlight! You might not be able to read the headstone, but we definitely can when you angle the flashlight correctly. Great job you are doing. These stones were great to read.

I’ve used a flashlight for years - that is the safest way to read a headstone. Rubbings are generally frowned upon now by most preservationists

1850 census records shows William Stallings (Sr) living at house #354 in Talbotton. His wife (Shady Ann) passed away in 1848 so she's not shown in that census. However, William Stallings (Jr) then 9 years old is shown, along with an older sister Nancy and a younger sister Elizabeth. William Sr is listed as Farmer whose land value is shown at $10,000. There was another family living at the same address named Weeks. The 1860 census shows William Sr (a Planter), Nancy and William M.C. (19 years old) still at the same address but young Elizabeth is not shown. The land value dropped $200 to $9800 but William Sr's estate is now shown at $52,825! That was a ton of money in 1860! According to a CPI Inflation calculator, todays value would be $1,952,271.98!!! It's highly likely that Shady Ann and her son are the ones buried there.

When bears pull salmon from the river and leave the carcass on the shore after eating some of it, some of the atoms from the salmon will get absorbed into the local vegitation. This has been proven with studies. So I would think that some of the atoms from those two people are in the Oak tree. They live on in the nature around them.
