Oh my gosh, the first stop of our jollies is to pop to Jacksons for bacon, sausage, burgers or whatever else we're taking shine to, then up to Beacon farm for a tub of ice cream. All that Whitby sea air and walking around gives you an appetite! Hope Mrs M enjoyed her pie 🙂

Wot oh Simon, I really must get my ear trumpet looked at. I mean, love your accent. But sometimes???. Just now thought you said Mrs M was at home with the Shieks(John Hanson or wots his name? Rudy Nearenough the dancer💃🕺) Didn't for one moment think you said Sheks😳Any which way, I share her pain. I started small with cocktail sausage rolls,moved up to full size. Then Pasties, until I hit the skids Main lining pies or puddings. It were only the stagger to the pub stopped me ballooning to the size of the BIG TOP🎪 Wot about bits on the side?? Chips, mashed potato or peas. The pictures do not lie - Jacksons is a top quality butcher that in the mornings has folk queuing out the door. The pies are excellent - what really makes them is the quality of the pastry that while a hot water pastry is heading towards a short crust pastry. Never had a pie with a better pastry.

On holiday last year went in and got a breakfast cob, the best I have ever had and I have had many .. The reason I went in was because I lost the bloody cinder track to Bay lol. I have no sense of direction .. so got on bus and walked from bay to Whitby on coastal path .. and a few sherbets at the brewery at the finish ...

Was over Whitby at the weekend and was sat on the West cliff overlooking the East pier and heard a lot of shouting and groups of people attacking each other. I initially thought it was a Palestine protest and thought what the hell. Until I got to the B&B and they said it was Bollywood making a film about Ghandi. Phew 😂 had a look in the Pescado lounge but didn't stop as it was busy and didn't see a beer that I fancied. None of that new fangled muck for me. Might have a walk to Sneaton next time as the stuff in the butchers looked nice.
