Okay, took a break from the mine to try to figure out how to best try to get my drone back and most importantly, get a camera with lights down there. I figure half of that out.
@CookingWithCows2 жыл бұрын
Use sticks to build a kind of tripod/trellis above the hole and lower your camera with a light on it down that way, like the winch of a well. You can put a bit of rope on you camera rig with a hook on it to try and hook it on your drone if you find it. Wifi might be a problem to see where your camera is at any point in time. Very difficult if you naturally don't want to approach the edge of the hole
@tomwilliams86752 жыл бұрын
I hope you'll get some help and not and do it alone. That shaft definitely needs to be cleared then get your drone back and sealed forever. All those open shafts in that county should be searched and sealed.

I’d probably drop a camera down there on some string first to see where your drone is situated. You can tie a piece of string to the front and back of the camera so you can angle it up and down to look around. If you can figure out a way to see what the camera is looking at on your phone or something in real-time then all the better.

Beau from a Firefighter point of view the piles of cans and bottles was from a accident on the Interstate involving a Tractor Trailer, It was a close place to dump them and clear up the travel lanes. That's my thought when seeing it.
@rossmacintosh56522 жыл бұрын
I went back to review Beau's footage. The cans appear to have been opened suggesting they aren't from a spill. I'm thinking they are suggestive of a mining camp, military tank/training range, or maybe a work camp when the nearby highway was built?

It's amazing how some of the most inhospitable places can accumulate so much trash. The cans and bottles remind me of the hunting camp sights I used to find when exploring my family's property as a kid (much smaller dumps). But we lived backing into a swamp (which I also explored), so plenty of birds to hunt, unlike the desert. This was in rural areas outside of Darwin, Australia too. A world away from the Mojave! Lots of burnt out cars (presumably stolen), spent cartridges, and sadly the remains of dogs and horses from the not so reputable racing breeders in the area. That was decades ago, and before the place became so populated. But this video brought all those memories back.

The fact that he said he left her there is a hint that if he killed her he probably left her somewhere else. The critical question is when was she last seen by anyone except her partner? Her phone record is not necessarily useful since it could have been in someone else's possession (his?) when it was last located. A truck pull over is not a good place to get rid of a body since you have to take it over 100 meters or more away from the road to find a suitable, unlikely to be recognised, burial spot. The ground looks pretty hard so digging a grave would be tricky and take time and increase the likelihood of being spotted. The mineshaft is worth examining but unless you knew it was there is would not be sensible to wander around the desert carrying a body in the hope you could find a suitable mineshaft. He would not drive his rig into the desert so the place she was dumped had to be in easy reach of the road. Important to check the local possibilities but I suspect he would find an isolated spot not far away to pull over with a ravine close by and drop her there if she was murdered.

Hello! Those cans and bottles are from where they use to pull major wreaks and burned out vehicles off to the side for later cleaning and pickup. Usually, back in the day with no regulations the owning companies wouldn’t never clean them up, so they continue to sit for Mother Nature unfortunately.
