What is the difference between the 633 and the 633A ??? I like the metal table you have that the transmission is laying on Redzz02.. Good fact to know about transmissions made by WH and Roper fella. Nice video too.

If its horizontal input it should be the same as this transaxle. If its vertical shaft input with 3/4” axle shafts, look up a mst series locking video, they are would be very similar internally and you should be able to follow along enough to successfully do it, id be willing to lock it for you if you pay me

I just got a Sears magnum 6000 G. T. And i'm trying to find out what fluid I use for transmission and what spark plugs I can use in this Motor And i'm missing the adjustment screw for the Belt I'm trying to learn whatever I can from any of you guys on KZbin. And i'm not been getting lucky you're and anybody it will tell me anything I just Subscribe you again. Only think i can help you with, is if its a roper 633a transaxle 3spd hi/lo its 5 quarts of sae30 weight non detergent oil If its a hydro i do not know what fluid it takes

Yes this will work for the gt5000 with a roper 633a transaxle. Like the title says Sears/craftsman gt

I just picked up a Craftsman GT tonight! Up until now I've just been messing with mst 206's so I'm stoked to have a 633a to play with. Would you consider the 633 a pretty bad ass transaxle? Which is your all time favorite strong transaxle? Keep up the great vids and thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge

welding takes the hardness out of the gears , axle like that just flip the gears around so they mesh together and nothing turns I locked my wheel horse like that and my suburban no problems

Matts Madness youre not wrong about the hardness, although I’ve only had one welded locker break and I have been doing this a long time. Wheel horse axles you can flip the gears with no worries, they have 4 sets of planetary gears unlike the 633a that only have two. It puts a lot of stress on the gears and they do break. I will continue to weld the 633a gears or moose knuckle the newer style 633a with splined axle shafts

Anti Government4life 30 weight non detergent oil is what it calls for I believe, I do not know the capacity though, I believe the newer splined ones like what you have are slightly stronger than the older style, and no problem I try and answer questions to the best of my knowledge

Hey redzz02 I locked my sears tractor by flipping the gears and I put it trough hell and back and also we did it to my freinds trans and it’s works fine if I where you I would have flipped the gears

Jb Custom’s a lot of people have had good luck with flipping the gears, and a lot of people have had horrible luck with flipping the gears, we are pretty hard on our builds along with really aggressive tires. I’d trust my welds more than flipping gears on a 633a so that is why I went that direction, especially being it’s someone else’s tractor

I have a Craftsman tractor with what looks like the same trans axle with the high and low range. It suddenly seems like the reverse is stuck but will go forward. I've done a lot of modifications to it. I've got a big snowblower on the front that has it's own power head that came out of a Sears SS/16. Would love know if you can help me with the reverse issue or can I use the trans axle from the SS16.

I can not help you with your issue, your best bet is to pull it apart and look inside, the craftsman gt and the sears transaxles are the same BUT different the mounting width on the transaxles are different. So the ss16 should not work in your gt chassis without modification

I’m pretty sure I didn’t order any new gaskets for this transaxle, but google is your best bet to find gaskets for the roper 633a, sorry I do not have the exact info you’re looking for

Unfortunately I can not tell you wether the 633a is Ropers “best” transaxle, but I can tell you that it is very strong transaxle, hundreds of thousands of people are running them. I do not know the production years of these transaxles either
