You put the fabric the wrom way round. The long part is the seat, the shorter is the back. Look at pictures of an original car.

You'd never expect to find seats to fit in there and look right - but these are perfect. You have to love people who keep things that they have no use for.

Jeg skal hilse fra min far Peter, som er super glad for at have bidraget til dit spændende projekt 👍🏻. Sæderne klæder bilen og projektet

Have you heard of the painter, Bob Ross? The welding, painting, and age-matching restoration along with your VO happily reminds us of his public TV show, The Joy of Painting.

I take that as a huge compliment! :D

Hi Seaside Garage, there are also inside excenters on every break shoe !!! . If those are missing, its almost impossible to gain a good pressure point and because of this a good brake value. Its key to regulate this all drum system perfectly!! Those round „excenters“ were sold quite often in 90ˋs, but were absolutly forbidden though ! Greetings from Germany, H.😊
@SeasideGarageАй бұрын
They are there... did not touch them.. as long as the pads are centered it should be fine :)

Should the owner ever decide to sell the car, the seats are by far the best USP ever. Not only do they look absolutely fantastic, the backstory to them make them priceless. Who wouldn't want to drive around in an AZU sitting in an aircraft seat!

Good call with the seats , absolutely perfect 👍 I’ve got VW stuff in my garage loft , had some of it 15 years already 😊 I don’t think I’ll be getting another old VW but you never know 😂 Ps the branch across the garage door makes me laugh every time, I notice it a while ago and it’s still there 😂

11:46 Looks like the break pad is missing 1/3 of the pad. I tried that too with some brand new off brand brake pads. it then destroyed the brake drum (bremsetromlen) too because then the bare metal scratched the drum

If you want to let the new paint look "old" you can use a scotch red / or grey , a used piece . It make nice swirls😮

I'm not sure of the science behind why, but I was told by more than one 2cv mechanic (when I asked) that you are not supposed to put boot clamps on the outer lip (wheel side) of the driveshaft. It is meant to slide easily up and down the shaft, not be clamped in one spot, even though the boot is the accordion style...
@SeasideGarageАй бұрын
hmm it rings a bell....

Been watching a few videoes on youtube while waiting for bed time, and a few videoes after i watched yours the guy is showing 6 months test of lanolin. Lanolin does react with rubber as one side effect. Then i wonder, can it renew and soften old rubber that is used for your seats?. It might be worth a test if you have the stuff or can get it cheap.

Love this vehicle. I don't understand your countries traffic regulations. You cannot put turbo on a car, you have to have those intrusive turn signals on the side of the car, and many other rules. BUT you can put a seat like this in a car. I understand the nostalgia of the build, but these seats are a dead trap!
@SeasideGarage17 күн бұрын
Hey! Love reading all your comments on so many of my videos! you have been seeing quite a few videos lately! The rules are, that a car can not be changed much from what it was born like... so you cant put a turbo on a car that is born NA unless you get everything tested and approved (VERY expensive like 5000 euros+) Turn signals on the side is needed on all cars... I have no idea why its not like that everywhere? makes so much sense to have them there... The 2cv is a death trap no matter what.. :P
@mehrzahl2219Ай бұрын
Somehow I don't think these 2cvs are so easy to work on. But maybe I am prejudiced.
