The only thing I've ever heard about Nettles not being a genetic dragonseed was a theory that she used blood magic (perhaps unknowingly) to bind sheepstealer to her. It was an interesting theory, wish I could remember more about it. I know that in season 1 Laena brings up the idea that there is more than one way to bind a dragon to you. The passage in Fire & Blood that was cited was 1. That nettles brought sheepstealer a sheep every day, slit its throat herself, thus spilling all of its blood. And 2. Nettles kills another sheep this way before Daemon sends her away for good, getting covered in the sheeps blood before mounting the dragon and taking off. I always liked the idea of her not being a dragon seed but instead is a brave little low born girl who unknowingly performs blood magic and binds sheepstealer to her that way. Hearing anyone doubt it because of her skin color would make my head explode.

Daemon was very interested in the riderless dragons. What if Daemon goes behind Rhaenyra’s back and has Leanor killed to free up Seasmoke? So on the beach, Adam announces he claimed Seasmoke & pledges himself to Rhaenyra. Rhaenyra is upset because it means Leanor is dead but maybe she’s also wondering about whether Daemon had something to do with it? Pure speculation of course.

It's possible that Cregan will already know about the "Song of ice and fire" prophecy before meeting Jace. If Aegon the conqueror shared the prophecy with King Torrhen (which seems more than likely at this point) it would make sense that he'd pass that information down to his descendants much like Aegon.

I think the criticismo of Laenor abandoning his family is more because in Westeros, and even in our world, it is usually seen as someone’s duty to protect their family from harm, and leaving your family to fight a war while you gallivant around in Essos isn’t protecting your family. Doesn’t necessarily mean he had to keep playing the Game of thrones to the people’s disadvantage, Spicetown was burnt down(a dragon would’ve been useful guarding it), and the fleet carrying Viserys and Aegon, Rhaenyra’s kids, was attacked and sunk(dragon would also have been useful here).

The shot of Erryk doing a downward swing is definitely towards his brother Arryk. The arm you see poking through has a silver/white armour brace of the Kings Guard. But also check the sword. I seem to remember one of the twins having a guard at the front of their sword. But also the downward blow is reminiscent of the book fight.

Aegon spinning the council ball...When I saw that scene at first I actually thought that he might "spin the ball to make a decision". Like, if the ball lands in the hole, he will go with what everyone is suggesting, if it doesn't...they don't do it. It shows such a stark contrast to Rhaenyra who was taking part in the meetings ever since she was young and learning from them, whereas somehow the Greens didn't seem to train Aegon despite plotting for him to ascend the Throne all his life. Like...Otto Hightower really should have taken an interest in making him fit to rule and teach him stuff, but Aegon seems 0 prepared for any of it. And with all the abuse he has suffered from Otto, he's also not likely to just "hand over the decisions" to him, either. He might even go against the advice of Otto out of spite and vengeful pettiness rather than listen to logic, it would fit his overall character as we currently know it.

I don’t know the reasoning behind them letting Lenore live in the first place. There has to be some pay off or twist for it to play into the story. One of the things I always loved about Martin's writing and this show is the Byzantine(Eastern Roman) empire connections(and of other middle ages kingdoms but Byzantine in particular) . Soooo many things in song of ice and fire can be traced to that period. Especially the succession "problems" in Fire and Blood. Really enjoyed this video and wanted to thank you for the work you both put into this. I'm excited for this new season and also so nervous because of the things I know are coming for some of the characters. The way Heleana looked in her veil made me wonder if, because she's a Dragon Dreamer, they'll wind up bringing in some elements of supernatural horror. Kind of like Dany in the house of the undying with the warlocks, but even moreso here because they're not shying away from the magic in the series. The angle, the veil, the look in her eyes, everything was just extremely unsettling in the best way that draws you further in!

TBH I think it works better for the story that way. 1) The Triarchy is supposed to be a relatively minor enemy; they are roughly on par/weaker than just the Velarions by themselves. How is it realistic that they could possibly sack Spice Town when the entire Velaryon fleet is deployed in the gullet AND all the blacks' dragons are also present (minus Caraxes)? It should be a complete massacre in the black's favour. How much time do you think it would take Vermithor to destroy 90 ships even with an inexperienced rider? If the battle gets moved to after the capture of king's landing, that means that most of the Velaryon fleet and most of the Black's dragons are in King's Landing, leaving just Jace and Baela to defend the Gullet. And now this is a much more realistic fight for the Triarchy to be winning. Just 2 smaller dragons and a small number of ships, not the entire Black military at the same time. 2) The damage done would now be the result of character choices and their ambitions. You can now say that Spice Town got sacked BECAUSE the blacks decided to move their forces to King's Landing. It is a result of their ambitions to take the throne. Or alternatively you can get the idea that if Corlys had decided to stay out of the war instead of picking a side, he might have had enough forces at home to defend it. Or you can say that Rhaenyra is bad at strategy and allocating military ressources. Whatever way you want to spin it, it's better than "the Triarchy won because the plot demanded it"

I think Visenya's birth in the show is very different than in the books. It was much quicker and she was very premature, maybe 5th or 6th month? Visenya in the show was much smaller and maybe the birth didn't hurt Rhaenyra as much as in the books. And we saw that she was walking to Alicent in episode 6 after delivering Joffrey, so if she was very determined she could endure much even though she was in pain.

Walking around right after childbirth was no problem for me, but riding in a car was horribly painful when we drove over pot holes 😣. My baby had to go to a more advanced NICU in a different hospital on the other side of the state, he was taken in an ambulance and I followed behind in a car. Let’s hope Rhaenyra isn’t hitting any turbulence on her dragon ride even if it’s been a few weeks since the birth. I definitely enjoy this series realness in its representation of birth and lactation that you rarely see on TV.

That said, I kinda hope they play Rhaenyra's later stance on either bastards or Nettles more like Daemon's "Heir for a Day" toast or their jaunt into the brothel weaving between the various versions instead of completely suface-level straight, just on the grounds that "romantically jealous, bloodline-obsessed queen" is old effin' hat and something about the phrasing from that bit of F&B always seemed a lil' extra traditionalist/maester-y. Anyways, Rhaenyra's got plenty of other hypocrisies and potential jealousies/paranoias to explore that'd be more interesting to me. Really enjoyed comparing the cast's war faces and the usual Vhagar simping. Thing're gonna get dark, and it's good to know where to find the fun alongside. Thanks for another fire stream!
