the spoiler stuff is strange cause while i get not wanting to have a preplanned leveling route in the spirit of the season, they said they like the community information sharing aspects of the game. i wouldnt be shocked if they are totally aware of what is going to be datamined and what isnt and are taking that into account to make the season a cool experience for both casuals and sweaty mfers

Rokman specifically pointed this out somewhere around the hour twenty minute mark. He pointed out that all the new gear and many other things that we KNOW are in the build were encripted. I probably shouldnt assume, for reasons, but I assume Blizzard could have encryped everything if they wanted to.

i dont think this season is about bridging retail and wow though i think eventually they'll try to link the two in some way, i think this season is about tricking everyone in a dad guild to make an alt so they play more and have a better chance at spending more money on the game

How can the person incharge of classic wow only think there will be 3 new runes when they datamined 8 or 9 slots of runes

There will only be 3 rune slots for the level 25 cap for Phase 1. We will unlock new rune slots in phase 2, phase 3, etc

Everyone can be an asshole at times. I can only think of one time you've been an asshole or at least were frustrated and said something in a mean tone towards me. But it was out of frustration and I didn't take offense to it. Unfortunetly I have not been on my A game as of late. Getting hacked right when ICC came out and then BlizzCon has left me way further behind the curve than I'm used to. And many of the mistakes Ive been making just shouldn't happen. So that fact you haven't been an asshole to me a lot more makes you A OK in my book. :)

yeah i'm not expecting it this phase or next but i'd be surprised if some of the really abysmal trees dont get tweaked once they know how the runes play with everything else @@mashthosebuttons

The problem with sod, is without complete reitemizazation, you might as well be naked at 25 as atleast rogues and feral. Everything decent is from 30 elites and 40 dungeons. Still extremely excited but that is disappointing

All the gear in the BFD raid is new and re-itemized. All the stuff we looted in the BlizzCon demo was stuff we had never seen. I also think they might have reworked a few quest rewards along the way as well.

The raid encounter has all new itemized gear. Raiding naked does sound exciting though, new hardcore challenge maybe?

Listening to 'Classic Only' people talk about why they don't play retail always makes me bust out laughing. "New class/race choices, unrepairable." As if the the worst thing about retail is that druids can now be trolls. I'm going to laughing to that one all day, good looking out Rokman.

It was more about the changes that made the game stop feeling like wow for me :P but ye it is funny after like 10 years of additional bad changes to the game, that one doesn't even seem like a big deal anymore. But it was a big deal when cata was coming out

For context I quit 2 weeks into cata back in the day due to the changes and have since played BFA mid cycle trying retail again, shadowlands launch and s1, dragonflight launch. As a player who's only played classic for the last 16 years except those occasions mentioned my biggest gripe with retail is the serious lack of class identity. I honestly like any race any class but most of the time you end up picking whatever race benefits your class the most. But the class identity is a killer, its honestly feels like no matter what melee class I play it feels exactly the same, you just get a different lights show and thats it. I really want to play current wow but its just so bland, the gearing is so jarring as someone who is basically new to retail because the gear pathing and the borrowed power items / objectives just make the game feel cheap. Its why I can get into a portion of the game with quests, dailies dungeons farming and then in lfr maybe because I'm more of a solo player when I do it I don't get as invested but the melee classes at least just feel so samey yet base classic has so much identity and its like 900x more simple to play lol I dunno I don't know how you can bridge the gap from classic to retail when they are so different

I say it constantly, I don't know enough about retail to bash it. I just know from what I see and hear from the outside it doesn't appeal to me. I think the only thing I would enjoy in the game is raiding. But TBF thats all I enjoy in most expansions around the time the second raid releases. Vanilla is the only expansion I didnt start raid logging until the final Teir.
