About Dimash and American. Americans need to know that american is really a dialect. Not being American myself, I very often have difficulty understanding what is being said, especially in music. Dimash sings in multiple languages, most fans really do not care , he has his own accent we understand him very well, and hope he never loses it. So you are right , so called english speakers should just learn to appreciate the amazing vocals that Dimash shares with us. Thanks for your reaction.

To hear improvisation, you must hear Dimash cover Lionel Ritchies' "Hello." If you want opera, Dimash sings a "solo" opera, Olympico ( Ogni Peitre), for vocal fry, "Love Is Like A Dream." Dimash has sung with other singers in China he tones down his voice so as not to outshine the other person. He was invited as a guest to do a duet with Chante Moore for the show. The young lady in the black dress, Fauzia Terbaru, wanted to be the one to do a duet with Dimash. Dimash whispered to her, that the producers wanted her to perform with a Chinese male singer, Zhang Jie. He competed against Dimash on Singer 2017. You really should also check out " Sinful Passion." For sorrow and passion, "Ikanaide" would be the go-to song. Were you aware that Dimash does vocal training for 3-4 hours every day, more if he's preparing for a concert?

Dimash has a bachelors degree in Classical music with emphasis on vocals, after which he was offered a position with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respecfully turned it down to persue his own more contemporary musical career. He has a further batchcelors degree in Contemporary music Jazz and Pop vocals, a Masters degree in composition with a top mark of 100%, and he is just about to complete his Ph.D in musicology. I cant wait to call him Dr Qudaibergen 😅 ❤ he has been in formal education in music for 25 years, since he was 5 years old. He was playing the piano when he started school and comlpained that the piano was out of tune, thats when the teacher found that he had absolute pitch. He won a national piano competition at age 6. Dimash has his own production company and is a completely free, independent artist. He is also a music producer, multi instrumentalist and composer. With regard to this cover and covers he has done in the past he never, ever sings them the same as the original. Why would he? He is an artist, he does things his way and they are very often better. Lional Ritchies song Hello is a prime example of that. Please dont complain that he does things differently, Dimash is very different, and that is why he is a world class artist and he tours constantly with his worldwide stadium concerts. I have travelled from my home in the United Kingdom to Istanbul for his 30th birthday concert. Wow what a birthday party that was. As for Chante Moore she is a 57 year old American R&B singer who was at her most famous in the 1990s. Dimash was an inveted guest at the Singer programme in 2024, he gets invited every year and has gone back each year apart 2020 when the show finished, but 5his year it came back and he was singing with her as a guest in the duet round, she was competing and all competitors have to take a partner. There were two non chinese performers but neither,despite being incredible, got to win. It doesn't matter as Dimash didnt win in 2017 but went on to become a hugely respected artist in China as he still is. He gets invited to participate in most important events there. If you want grit, try When Ive Got You, Screaming the 2021version, and TheStory of One Sky, Music video first, live after as you really do need the visuals with this epic composition. Dimash composed the song, had his words put into English lyrics. He came up with the idea for this short film and was the writer, screenwriter, scriptwriter, main actor and he worked very closely with the director to make sure that his vision was made perfectly clear. It really is an important movie, its his masterpiece that took him 3 years to complete in between all his studies and worlwide performances and his other work as ambassador for various high end brands and charities, and now the United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for Migration in Asia. Dimash is a very busy man. ❤

In this presentation, back to "The Singer" (I'm a Singer 2024), Dimash participates as a guest and Chanté Moore competes for the award. In this context, we see (just as it was with "You Raise Me Up" with the children, in China) a more restrained Dimash and serving as a "ladder" for Chanté's brilliant performance. It's a shame they didn't win this duet and it's a shame Chanté didn't advance in the program, after her other performances! time: Chanté Moore is already an experienced singer: Born in 1967 (57 years old) and maintains an impressive youthfulness! Chanté has over 30 years of experience singing R&B!

@DiaLinwen

I disagree with all who wrote that Dimash here purposefully held back to let Chante shine. In order to shine in a duet, it should be the best it can be in its entirety, from both singers' side. Dimash did what he thought the most appropriate for this specific performance, without imitating anybody, or without trying to outshine the other or let the other outshine him. Dimash would never compromise a performance, he is a true professional and he knows it will only make the entire performance worse. Dimash never imitates others, never performs songs like the original, he simply found his own way to perform this song. Naturally, some might prefer the original, some his version, but he will do things his own way no matter what. What's the point to sound like somebody else? He has nothing to prove. And he obviously had a lot of fun and those singers cooperated and complemented each other, not tried to win or let the other win. And, by the way, Dimash doesn't have the objective to do some crazy vocal tricks in every song and performance. That's not what makes a performance great. He does what he believes is needed in each specific case. It doesn't mean holding back in the sense of not doing his best, it means to do his best for each and every song.
@caithlin4306
@caithlin4306 2 ай бұрын
i think its safe to say that, given what we know of Dimash and his vocal ability, 'holding back' for someone of his callibre would in no way adversely affect the outcome of the duet. Dimash's idea of 'holding back' is very likely the best singing most other singers would aspire to.i think though that there's nothing more uncomfortable and unpleasant than a duet where the singers are not evenly matched especially if one outshines the other or the other is shown to be inferior in some way so 'doing your best' for the song would therefore also include holding back when appropriate. It is a well known fact that he is always respectful and considerate of the people he's singing with, doesn't like competing with them for the spotlight and supports and encourages them to shine and that means not trying to out sing anyone so he just chooses not to just like he refuses to sing in competitions against kids. Knowing what he's capable of can you honestly say he reached his limit with this? Id say no and that doesn't mean it was bad or he didn't do the song justice. But to say that he did or didn't hold back is speculative and such an opinion can only be based on what we've seen and heard from him in the past so given what he is capable of and his usual approach to singing with others I'd guess he absolutely held back!! 😅
@DiaLinwen
@DiaLinwen 2 ай бұрын
@@caithlin4306 Doing one's best for the song isn't the same as holding back. This is a certain genre and not everything Dimash is capable of doing is suitable for it. Making the right choices for a song is the opposite of holding back, it is performing this song in the best possible and befitting way for this specific song. This genre is something Chante has been doing her whole life, so that's why they are matched here, she is just extremely good

@@DiaLinwen hey Dia, i really do hear what you're saying but i still disagree on the original opening statement.. Chante IS an incredible soul singer, warm beautiful tone full package but genre is not what im talking about which is why i talked about his vocal ability. The fact is you can find soul singers all over the world in all shapes and sizes some are incredible some not so good but it is a do-able style for many people but i have never heard anyone with the vocal ability that Dimash has and if he went off within his own style in that song he would have been unmatched because no one can do what he does as well as he does it. He's a unicorn. By holding back his ability and matching her as best he could withing her genre he balanced it out, she shone and he stepped up to the plate as he always does.
@DiaLinwen

@@caithlin4306 Why does Dimash sing his native songs and folk songs the way he does, for instance? Nobody denied Dimash's incredible technical abilities, I am perfectly aware of them. That's one of the reasons why he is by far my favorite singer on this planet. But there is one even more important reason - Dimash's ability to be a storyteller and give each song exactly what it needs, vocally and emotionally, his ability to move me. If he sang Qairan Elim with some of those abilities that he potentially has, it would look ridiculous and only detract from the song. The greatness of Dimash, among other things, is to know what's appropriate for each song. His abilities would have become detrimental if he abused them. They won't make the performance more amazing, quite the opposite. What is fit for SOS, for instance, because it creates the contrasts between ups and downs, which are the essence of this song, is totally unfit in some other songs and genres.

Dimash is the king of staccato! In one interview he said when he was a child he listened her mother (a soprano singer) doing staccato all the time and for him, if you sing well, you need to learn to do a staccato. So it was something he learned when he was a boy. In his first MV when he was 16, you already can listen he doing staccato. Hug from Brazil!

Dimash started music school at age 5, his first competition at around 6 was piano. Dimash's brother Mansur attends the same music college Dimash attended. Dimash loves all music. Although he is classically trained, his undergrad degree at university was pop-jazz performance, his masters degree was in composition, and he is completing his PhD in musicology. Dimash has always followed his own path, despite early criticism he got trying to blend genres (which is what made him famous). He turned down offers with the national opera company (because he wanted to experiment with his voice), and his teachers and industry people tried to discourage him from pursuing more mainstream career. He has remained independent with his own production company, so he can do what he wants. If you want to know more about Dinash, he has a great 40 minute interview (with subs) on his channel, and I have a playlist of severall documentaries.

He almost does an incredible guitar riff with his voice in "When I've Got You" and some lovely riffs and scatting in "Know" and also in the Volcise version of Know... look forward to you next one!!! 😁

Dimash's favorite artist is Michael Jackson. He has listened to MJ since he was a child. He has some of his mannerisms, like shaking his hand, some facial expressions, which is surely from imitating his dancing for years. (He can also moonwalk)😄 Dimash wasn't really big on dancing but he has trained over the years to please the audience. There are usually dancers on stage with him. He always has things to look at during his concerts besides himself. (Which we all know he doesn't need. 😄) He loves Queen, AC/DC, Celine, Frank Sinatra and even Eminem. He is into everything. If you ever see videos of him watching other performers, he is always moving, drumming the beat or raising his fist when the artist hits an amazing belt. He has a few Queen covers! Mostly with groups he was invited to sing with.

Wonderful reaction! Love how you break things down. ❤ This duet is stunning! Chanté kills it and Dimash is his usual perfect self. 😊 Can‘t wait till you hear him sing with Plácido Domingo. 😊 Just don’t expect pure opera technique. (Even though their tones sound beautiful together. To me even better than other opera singers that sing the same song). Dimash is classically trained but has not been singing purely classical for a very long time and hasn’t had the time to prepare for this performance. They decided to do this particular duet just two days prior. And only practiced it the day before.

In order to be able to recognize Dimash's peculiarities as an artist, someone has to immerse himself in his work. There are different paths he takes. One way to see more of his abilities is to watch his live performance of "The Story Of One Sky". To hear his incredible voice: Almaty concert, part 3, from 23:10 - The OMV shows the message of Dimash. To see Dimash live on stage and especially with this masterpiece, I can only recommend to everyone.

This is in Dimash's beautiful Kazakh language and he composed both the moving, very personal song and its lyrics. (Then you can watch the stunning music video of the song!) I also suggest his performance in China of Dudarai, in which he shows how a Kazakh folk song can be transformed into a funky jazz version! (CCTV-1 recording)

So a flash in the video of another singer sitting in the backroom waiting for her turn, named Faouzia. You should check out her performances from this show. I'd recocmmend her cover of Desert Rose and Cry Me A River, and her original song RIP Love. She's Moroccan born Canadian singer who actually took China by storm, much like Dimash did when he was on the show in 2017. She has a large range as well, writes most of her own songs (not allowed to sing them on the show except for the finals night) and is a multi instrumentalist. Has a duet with John Legend. Also if you want Dimash's gritty runs side, check out his recent MV - When I've Got You. It's a total change of vibe from what he normally does - darker, rock/bluesy vampire theme.

He doesn't even sing his own songs the same way 🤣 Although this cover was already amazing, I'd love to hear what he would have done with it if he'd had more than 24 hours to prepare for the performance. I think one of the most exciting things about his music is that you never know what he's going to do next, he moves through music like a tidal wave and when he finds something new that interests him he will learn and incorporate that in a new song, so when he was living in Los Angeles he was working on blues and RnB. He spent time working (and playing) with Stevie Mackie and he wrote 5 songs in the process, only 3 of which have been released so far.

Hola.

This is a great performance by both performers. I see a lot of comments about letting people shine, this is not how a duet is supposed to work, the goal is not to outshine or to let anyone shine, the goal is to highlight both singers. This was done was perfectly. Chante has incredible range, the notes that she can hit are out of this word. Dimash is incredible, it is not a competition, they are both great.
