Fuck me that was hard to watch. No copper grease, what torque? Using a wall to sand down a component, hammering in brake pads.... Bullshit

Literally following all your videos and doing the same mods/touchups to my cupra. Best on YT for a mk1 by far couldn't of done em without you. Was gutted, thought you stopped uploading but you're back =)! Keep up the vids bro!

My brother thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement and support it is comment like these that keep me going. Not stopped uploading and lots more to do on the cupra. Just had second kid, working two jobs at the moment etc so little time but I'm still here, more to come. Plus new car coming soon (still keeping cupra of course). Thanks again for your comment I was gonna do rear brakes but calipers are jammed so new calipers on order should be here soon and I'll get that uploaded.

Great tutorial of how not to do brake rotor and pad refresh. Axles stands ? Correct tools ? Torque wrench ? Cera Tec Lubricant or any anti seize compound ?

Ffs this is one of the worst videos I've ever seen of someone working on a car. I really hope you guys don't work on other peoples cars like that. Manhandling shit like that wtf. Maybe a bit of cleaning Solvents to clean up the parts and a bit of copper paste to make your life easier, but that's common sense and knowledge for even the least experienced home car mechanic isn't it?

How to change disc and pads with a rubber mallet and flat head screw drivers 😂😂What the fuck have I just watched
@johnwright47686 жыл бұрын
I am glad you are not working on my car, when you remove the caliper it should be supported and not dropped, the brake hose looks like its needs replacing. Did you exercise the pistons as they can stick in the calipers. When you replaced the discs did you clean the drive flange ? When you put the disc in place it makes life easier if you put a couple of the wheel bolts in the hold the disc in place and it makes fitting the pads easier. The new pads should slide into place and not need the use of an hammer! When you have both sides finished pump the brake pedal and make sure everything is OK. Finally you should use a torque wrench on the wheel bolts, not an overlong bar.

I have the exact same discs from mtec and they are brill. Stay rust free and haven't scored either. Heard horror stories about drilled disks cracking but mine are fine. You must seriously have to abuse them for that to happen. You now need the rears to match.. 😉
@RedlineRevs6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I don't think for my use they would crack either. I was looking at 'c' hook style which were sold out on their website, but their ebay listing said these were dimpled and when they arrived they were not... So for the money I've spent on them I'm still pissed off they sent me the wrong thing. If anyone else had that experience please let me know.

mate, how are the disc and pads combo in action?
@RedlineRevs Жыл бұрын
I still have the same discs on the car lol. They brake fine. Brembo pads are not the best though, but I keep using them as they are readily avaliable. Ferodo pads I had on one time and they were night and day better than than brembo oem replacements.

Does it matter which direction the grooves point on these discs
@gabrielvanya82454 жыл бұрын
Yes they do. When the discs are turning, the dust and gases should be transported from the middle to the outside of the disc

@@MrOtoreniloleg Now really is the time to get one. Cupra R is so cheap now that everyone who wants to should upgrade from TDI or Cupra 180. Why do Leon owners that have nearly 280-300 bhp always skimp on brakes? Mtec? Seriously? Yeh they're coated but I bet they don't last. As soon as you take it to a car jet wash the chemicals stain that coating and rust appears instantly.
