So with the help from this video I replaced mine yesterday, however I wish I had purchased a much better quality seat cover for my 2011 F-150 XL. I purchased the "AUTOKAY Gray Driver Bottom Seat Cover" from Amazon. The cover did not come with any holes pre-cut for the lumbar knob or trim screws and tabs. The long plastic pieces that are supposed to snap onto the metal bars and hold the cover in place did not want to stay on the back or passenger side very well at all. There was no padding attached and the cover did not come with any installation instructions so I am very glad to have found this video and that I watched it first and knew I needed to order some hog rings and pliers. I will also add that in my case I did NOT need to remove the seat from the lower frame/rail to swap out the cover. It wasn't really a bad job in large part thanks to this very informative and helpful video.

Thank you for your kind encouragement! It's an unfortunate truth that not all seat covers are created equal, but we're so glad to hear that our video helped make your project easier!

Outstanding video! Always us a plastic interior trim tool set when removing plastic panels or covers of any size and shape. You can purchase them on Amazon or at any automotive parts store. These will help prevent marring or scratching plastic panels or covers.

When you're cutting the holes in the fabric, you can use the old seat cover as a template before you apply the new cover to the foam seat.

You do not need to unbolt the lower part of the frame to do this. Just release the 4 long clips that hold the fabric to the upper frame. Neither the plastic trim around the rails when removing the seat from the truck. Otherwise great job👍

Getting ready to replace the front driver's seat pad on my 2011 F 150 XL. Wondering if anyone has done this without the hog rings and how it turned out if so. Thanks!
@doublejaylar Жыл бұрын
It turns out poorly. I had to lift the cover back up & put some new hog-rings on. They are needed to keep the cover secured properly otherwise it'll shift around over time & literally be a pain in the ass.

ohhh you skipped over the part I was watching for what about the lumbar dial and the 6way seat adjust how do you get those off.good battery /rag trick

Hi there! You can see the lumbar dial removal at 6:50. To remove the 6 way switch all you have to do is pop the switch cover off. Thanks for watching!

I have an '09, but I'm part of the STX underclass, which includes no power seats. Are the disassembly instructions similar for my truck?
@hopfammedia3 жыл бұрын
I believe that they should be similar! Naturally the process for disconnecting the power seat won't be needed, but the bolt placement should be the same. Thanks again for watching! :)

Hi How did you take apart the lumbar adjustment knob?
@1ode2joy2 жыл бұрын
It pops off. It's really hard to get off but it does come off. A big pry bar helps.
