Rec therapist Liza Franses leads a seated "head to toe" workout program. This routine is under 10 minutes and features gentle range-of-motions and very light cardio. It is ideal for helping older adults maintain range of motion. WARNING: Please be sure to consult a doctor before using this program or pursuing any form of exercise. CAREGIVERS: Do not use with an older adult unless you have consulted with that person's doctor regarding exercise regimes.
GOALS:
To maintain and improve range of motion
To enhance well-being through exercise
To improve manual dexterity
To facilitate a sense of achievement at the end of the program
To enhance physical and mental well-being through deep breathing and stretching
To help maintain cardio fitness

I am the director of a senior citizen day program. Since we have been on lock down for four months now I have come up with a way to keep my clients engaged. I offer six one hour virtual programs a week and of course that had to include a short exercise program. I've gone thru many different ones.....most that call themselves chair programs really are not....You are expected to stand against a wall or get down on the floor. My folks just can't do that. So, when we found this program all our boxes were checked. We now watch only this video....Everyone is participating in the exercises and we are happy. Thanks you soooooo much.

Not only do they really like your exercise program, but they now all chime in when I click onto your site with "Here she is!". I have noticed that by using just your program my folks have become more relaxed with it and since they kind of know what to expect they are getting better at each segment. Must tell you have we all get such a kick out of your matching pink sneakers and zipper!! Linda

At last! An exercise program that doesn't assume someone is an Olympic athlete! I have chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy that has affected my balance and causes my feet to feel numb - most exercises are painful and uncomfortable. I was able to do this easily and without any pain or discomfort, yet feel energized! Your manner is calm and encouraging, not browbeating - thanks so much!!!

Wow, after having many months of Covid-19 mandated stay-at-home orders plus emergency shut-down at my part-time place of employment, it was hard for me to stay motivated. I am age 65 with health issues which slow me down, desperate for needed exercise and a more positive mindset. I found this video to get back on track. What a life-saver! Perfect starter for me. It was so helpful and I enjoyed it so much I plan on subscribing. You have made me so happy! A game-changer for many of us.. I can't thank you enough. Please, keep this great stuff coming.. and don't stop!!!

I haven't been able to go without a walker for 2 years; when the time comes for me to have my hip replacement, I'm going to be really happy I found this workout, I think I'll have no problem walking again.

how wonderful to find this video - it's "doable" even when I'm in pain (not unbearable, but pain from various issues, fibromyalgia to arthritis to tendonitis) - I'm in my 70s and out of shape and it's a now or never situation to try to not go "downhill". I'll keep coming back to your channel, I was so happy to complete the above sequence. Thank you so much!

I was spending some time traveling around utube etc keeping my mind active and came upon your video. I want to thank you for what I think is an important video of exercise movements. It is very doable to me and as simple as these excercises sound they are very important. What is more important to me is your dedication to helping me exercise in a very calm and controlled manner. It is your very professional and calm manner that makes me actually stay here and complete this very important activity. I have MS and in a wheelchair. I am glad I found this video. I was swimming 3x a week but this virus stopped that. I'm just sad it took so long to find it.

I enjoyed your video! I broke both of my ankles 14 years ago and they give me trouble. They keep trying to give out on me and I get bad ankle pain when I try to walk on the treadmill. I'll be doing more of your videos. Thank you!

Click the little "settings" wheel along the bottom of the video screen, then click "speed", then select 0.75 or 0.5. The video will play slower :)

I am trying to work my way back and gain some strength and stamina after a really sedentary period while I was trying to recover from surgery for breast cancer and to slow me down I also had knee replacement surgery. I LOVE your exercises that I can do while seated to give my poor knees a break. Even in my bunged up state I can do them. I added them to my favorites so I can pull this up (I'm thinking morning and evening) and exercise along with you. Thank you.
