Ariel said it "we didn't invent the step hull, we perfected it" I'm looking forward to riding in the new Sea Vee Z!!!!!!

Rode in 39Z yesterday at Ft Lauderdale boat show, one word AWESOME !!! In a true 3-4' sea yesterday with 6 people on board we ran 55 mph safe and steady. The turns were tight and true with no slide or excessive turn in . Ralph and Ariel ..Seavee have done an amazing job on this new design hull , and as with everything else yacht like finish. I can't wait to put my order in new Seavee Z.

I am from the philippines and i am planning to make a small boat by myself, the dimensions of the small boat that i am planning on building is just the widest part of the beam would be 24 inches and the lenght overall would be 24 feet, i am hoping you could share me the appropriate planing hull design and dimensions including the hull cut and cut depth, as well as bow rake were it starts and also for the hull v degrees from fore to aft, 😊

How does that hull design work in big following seas?

how is it fuel efficient if you need three outboards to run it.
@windyboy788 жыл бұрын
Agree! with the horses they put on the back, the wetted area is so minimal anyway once on a full plane i wonder what numbers they are actually getting? seems like a marketing ploy to me.
@jamesrudolph41517 жыл бұрын
Yup, why bother investing in building a better, more fuel efficient hull if 1 of your test boats in a video is using 3 engines?..... maybe getting a big heavy boat to perform better is just a huge waste of time and we should still be using the hull designs from the viking long boats from a 1000 years ago.

I would say that one could forget about the stepped hull if the engine exhausts or a compressor was arranged to have compressed air blown at about that point behind where the bow rises out of the water. My experience with fast boats is that air under the hull seems to lubricate the boundary between hull and water and it goes faster. Try moving your boat against the wind or with the wind and one can easily see the difference. Well a stepped hull really allows air to enter under the hull and that is their secret . I would try compressed air under the hull and see how it goes.

but is it more fuel efficient and better performing than a non-stepped hull with 3 engines? That's the point. Can it get up to plane with less RPM's and less fuel burn than a non-stepped hull? That's the point. Number of engines in this video is irrelevant. This is about a better hull. Even if I get a 43 sea vee express at 25,000 pounds and quad marine 7 627 hp engines and a 1000 gallon fuel tank, why wouldn't I want the most efficient hull that also gives me better cruising and top speed as well as turning?

4 outboards? Ok, I don't like it, the through a bunch of engines on it and it will go faster is not a efficient way to go about it. I think the company has the wrong idea...
@modelnutty65038 жыл бұрын
+Walkertongdee agree-disagree both. outboards do have the advantage of serviceability access, unbolt and send to shop. not that it can't be similar with a big block if it's set up for easy mount-dismount, about the same kind of horsepower. "get there FAST" isn't always a great idea in a boat, if speed and efficiency are the big desire, hydrofoil makes more sense and rides smoother too. load could be managed with adjustable attack angle.
@jamesrudolph41517 жыл бұрын
I agree, I've often thought that all the boat builders and customers should agree that Walkertongdee knows what the best way to design, build and run ALL boats is and they should just follow your directions and guidance because your ideas are clearly far and away the best and only way it should be allowed to be done. Just as soon as you start building boats that are demonstrably better than sea vee, you let me know and I will be sure to buy one.
