Suffered from really bad depression but kept it to myself mostly. Told my parents once and they both dismissed it. Couple of years later I had a manic episode and ended up in the hospital. My parents came in and were asked by the doctors if there was any family history. My mom told the physician that she suffered really bad post partum depression after her second child and her younger brother (my uncle who I always thought as being normal) had twice been admitted to a psyche ward. I was shocked at never having known any of this and made me realize I wasn't just crazy.
