With regards to Seb's future, I really hope he only races a couple of headline races a year (maybe endurance races like Le Mans) but does it with the renewable fuels and proves their viability.

Sooo... The 24h Nürburgring alternative fuel class (AT)? It's been in existence for a couple of years now and could use some international publicity. The whole event could actually. I feel like they get pushed to the side because no single seaters... So someone like Seb could really get some attention to them.
@dsb19842 жыл бұрын
@@vhe9560 not exactly what I had in mind, more like the LMDh class (which may necessitate some changes to the regulations since currently everyone is currently required to run the same fuel.)
@vhe95602 жыл бұрын
@@dsb1984 I understand. I still think to prove general viability to the masses the slower classes are just fine. But naturally if you want to make a point for it's widespread use in racing you would need to somehow get it into the prototypes and so on. And not just electric which seems to have the focus right now. How to get it in there is the question though, and I believe getting more attention to the races already taking place would help in changing the regulations. Maybe? Oh well, we will see what happens and what Seb will do.

Awesome Romain! I really like Seb, wish I had gotten to watch him. I had fallen away from F1 After Aryton's crash . I was solid into F1 during Nigels great era and into Michaels but then faded away. So I didn't really know who was racing or winning until a few years back the racing world lit up over Lewis Hamilton where he was money in the bank every weekend. I've only fired up that passion of F1 since watching the DTS series. Then I discovered, I didn't know any of these drivers and almost none of these teams. I did catch a race now and then because Of HAAS, so would've seen your early stints with them. Alonso I knew, from the beginning of his racing and wining and when he came to America and raced the Indy 500 everyone was rooting for him because it was like royalty came to Indiana to race with us Murican's. But that day, those flippin Hondas blowing up..... Where was he? 4th? 6th? something like that? He had a legit shot at that race till the puff of the turbo.....I think that's the year Sato dived into turn 1 on the last lap and made it stick to go on to win in a last lap pass. Or, I'm just old and mix a lot of stuff together LOLOLOLOL!! So yeah, I wonder whats' going through Danny's head right now?

Romain…thank you for sharing your thoughts; much appreciated! Looking at the careers of Vettel and Alonso, a few things come to mind for me. Cannot dispute the stats for Vettel. He is a very talented driver who has been very fortunate to be in the right car at the right time, until now. Alonso has suffered as a result of poor timing on most of his decisions. I have seen no other driver in the past 20 years who can get the most out of a car like Alonso. He rarely ever makes mistakes. Can’t say the same about Vettel, who wasted a championship winning car at Ferrari. You cannot compare Hamilton to Alonso on stats, given Mercs domination since 2014. If Alonso was in the same car as Hamilton the past 8 years, I guarantee Lewis would have half the championships he does now. If’s and but’s…mean nothing at the end of the day…results do. Kudos to Vettel and wish him well.

"He's been taking too much criticism, and I don't think he deserves all of it, the situation was far more complicated and it was wrote down as driver errors what happened in those two seasons, it was really difficult to take it to the end" - Alberto Antonini (ex-Ferrari press officer) on Vettel's 2017 & 2018 season
@willjam4652 жыл бұрын
@@sjaadbj5564 don’t disagree with that; I am a Vettel fan. But I do believe Alonso in that same car gets at least one championship during that period. I think Hamilton and Verstappen would as well.
@sjaadbj55642 жыл бұрын
@@willjam465 i have to disagree with that based on ferrari history alone. As you can see this year, the 2022 car is probably the best Ferrari car in decades but they still can do errors after errors. This year is strategy. In 2017 its reability but in 2018 it is the upgrades, after summer in 18, they developed the car more towards kimi style which is wrong because Vettel is the one fighting for championship. I admitted he made few errors but ferrari is the main issue. Charles this year also same. Because of ferrari's error, the drivers have to push harder than ever to pick up points and its because of that errors happen. And Alonso also made mistakes. They are human, they also can make mistake. Its just that i think its unfair to judge performance based on that alone when other outside factors can affect a lot such as Ferrari management.
