You are right ! Clean diet helps, anything which is hot/sour/spicy can aggravate SD. One need to cool down body as well.

SD is caused by candida overgrowth on skin, and autoimmune too, inflaming it. It can be on face, behind knees, armpits, chest, back, scalp too. I have it around nose/mouth. I got a flare up. I used apple cider vinegar 1:1 and water. Shake bottle b4 use. Put it on Let dry. It will burn but it should only be annoying. Mine stopped burning in 3 days. Then put virgin coconut oil on it. It went from red to pink overnight. I did it 2x a day. Of course it was my skin and not scalp. So maybe do 1x a day. In a week it's almost gone. I also take probiotics 1 pill 2x a day and Vit c/d. Eat a tsp of coconut oil, or put in coffee daily. I didnt change diet. I also just tried candida probiotic soap. Amazon 10$. It made my skin feel like silk. Not drying. Some use on scalp too. If u eat sugar double probiotics for a few days or eat a tbsp of coconut oil for a few days if you can. Soap contains tea tree, coconut oil. You dont have to go on severe restrictive diet. I'd use the shampoo over the acv since it works on scalp. Glad u got rid of it.

I have this as well and have been using the Trader Joe's shampoo and conditioner for some time now. It definitely helps. To switch things up I started using the Head and Shoulders Royal Coils system after reading about it online. It is formulated for natural hair and it works wonders. I still use the TJ conditioner because it's great but the H&S system really helps keep my scalp clear and the itching minimal.

I've literally had it since I was 13 and I'm almost 28 😭 it gets way worse in the winter time and clears up quite a bit in summertime. I went to the dermatologist and they prescribed me this stuff and it had like baby oil and idk what else it was super oily. I would have to sit with this on my head over night and than my parents would use a comb and scrape all the flakes off. Let me tell you I'm tender headed idk if that has to do with it but it was so painful and I just couldn't handle doing it all the time. The only thing that helps me is using the tgel a once or twice a week and head n shoulda prescription strength once or twice a week. And it really helps. I hate the way it smells I just wish it would go away. I haven't gotten my hair cut in years cause I'm so embarrassed by it. I've ready scholarly articles on it and they literally dont know why people get it. Its super sucks 😭

I used to always have very thick curly hair. I only had to wash once a week bc my hair wouldn't get oily throughout the week. Over time I started feeling dry pieces of skin on the back of my scalp, that I would pick at...after that I started getting bad dandruff and my hair would literally get oilly after a wash. At this point I have bad dandruff, Peeling at the back of my scalp and MAJOR hair loss. Thankfully I had very think hair, but it is very heartbreaking to see all that hair fall. My dermatologist diagnosed me w/ Seborrheic Dermatitis, and just prescribed a shampoo for the scalp, my concern is hair loss... someone help
@sarahrucker354 жыл бұрын
I’ve also been diagnosed with it. I use Glover’s shampoo and the Salicylic acid solution it’s a God send. The shampoo the dermatologist prescribed me took out my edges so I’m been using Glover’s and slowly but surely they’re coming back.

Castor oil, Olive oil, and Tea Tree oil is the best topical solution for me. And trust me it works !!! But more importantly cleaning up your diet is a must, or you will go bald.. I tend to have flare ups after eating salty potato chips with MSG in them.

It’s so crazy. I’ve been going to the hair salon since I was 11 and I JUST found out that I have this at 20🤦🏽♀️😫. I found out from a stylist that did a closure quick weave on me because she has it as well. I went to pick up the t gel shampoo by neutrogena. I usually just have a lot of build up. If the shampoo doesn’t work I’m gonna get a subscription from my doctor.

If you get it under control, and treat your scalp with products that work for your scalp and hair consistently, you hair will grow back. Hair loss from sd is not actual hair loss, it's due to the patches.
