Ask your GP to freeze them. Best to get them when they're smaller, in my experience. Occasionally they come back in which case you can get them done again. Best to check w your insurance carrier to see if you have coverage. Mine allows 7 per year.

Thank you for the visuals and medical interpretation. I have several, more than that, but a few that are causing distress. I told my derm they remind me of parasites, creeping out of my skin 😁 now that I’ve viewed these microscopic images, I’m more convinced of that. They are ugly, look and feel, and I’m quite disgusted with them

I had one on my face and got rid of it over night by putting iodine and organic castor oil on it and covering with a plaster. The next morning in the shower it became really soft and simply peeled off!

First of all, thank you for all the quality content and all the work you put in those videos! I was reading about S.K lately and i had in mind this " macular SK".I've read it doesn't have many horn pseudocysts and its not even acanthotic.... and in the pictures from internet, it looks rather flat and i don't know how to rule out such an entity.Do you encounter in your practice such macular SK and what are the features that help name such a flat lesion as SK?Thanks! *ps : not clonal SK, which has nests.But flat, bland lesion that has no other features suggestive of SK.

I’m glad to hear they can be dark in color as these black globular things come off when I do my anti fungal shampoo. I take a pic with a smart phone and they are icky. I wash y hair every single day so I knew it wasn’t dirtI’m so happy I found this video. Can this stuff get in your hair strands? I notice stuff coming out of hair strands - as if it had little cells that hold the dandruff maybe? Ugh. No more sugar. Have to get rid of this stuff.

Thanks a lot, Jerad. How would you differentiate this from a viral wart, when it is acanthotic and papillomatous with parakeratosis, as in the last case in the video?
@JMGardnerMD
@JMGardnerMD 4 жыл бұрын
They can be pretty similar to wart in some cases. If they have in toeing of rete, large coalesced granules, spires of parakeratosis over tips of papillary surface projections...those things make me favor wart. If I can’t decide between wart and SK then I just try to pick one, usually favoring whatever the dermatologist wanted. Wart vs SK usually doesn’t matter for purposes of patient care so I don’t get too worried about it if I can’t decide. ‪my #dermpath Survival Guide discusses how I handle this and other diagnostic difficulties in more detail : bit.ly/2Te2haB ‬

Thank you sir. All your videos are very helpful. I have a question. How to differentiate clonal seborrheic keratosis from intradermal nevus?
@JMGardnerMD
@JMGardnerMD 3 жыл бұрын
Clonal seborrheic keratosis is in the epidermis and Intradermal nevus is in the dermis. My nevus video may be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHy9daSAmt9soNk

How to differentiate with verruca? Because of the pseudo horn cysts and also the pushed out from the surface?
@JMGardnerMD
@JMGardnerMD 2 жыл бұрын
Those are both helpful clues for SK vs Verruca. Some cases overlap a lot and for those I call them “verrucoid keratosis”. You might find my Verruca 101 video to be helpful: kikoxp.com/posts/6126

With these slides, are we seeing a cross section of an entire keratosis? The keratosis has been removed, and a sliver of it is viewed under a microscope, correct?
@JMGardnerMD
@JMGardnerMD Ай бұрын
Yes, exactly. It’s been removed and then we are looking at it cut straight down through the middle.

What is verrucous keratosis , same as sk?
@JMGardnerMD

I don’t use that term very often. But some people use it to describe lesions that have overlapping features between seborrheic keratosis and verruca.
