@StarlasAiko2 жыл бұрын
I didn't know that in the comics he inherited the mantel from a dead Peter Parker, so the comics always felt almost like the creators pulled a race swap, riding on the success of the name "Spider-Man". I couldn't understand why though. Miles was an awesome character, he could have easily been successful in his own right with his own superhero name. It was only from this movie that I found out that the creators of Miles Morales line of the comics were not just milking the fame of Spider-Man but that the character actually, canonically, inherited the mantel. Knowing the origin story makes him having that name much more deserved

I always like the subtle hints that if Miles didn't meet Peter. There was a high chance he would have ended up as the Prowler instead of Spiderman. His uncle was one of the few people that encouraged Miles, His dad a policeman is a bit too hard on him and could have made their relationship strained if he didn't have that wake up call, the first time he resonated his spider sense with Peter's it was the Prowler's colors before shifting to Spiderman's, Miles also liked capes which is prominent with the Prowler's costume.

"Are these all variations from the comics?" For the most part, yes! The comic crossover event, Spider-Verse, introduced a bunch of new Spider* characters from different dimensions as they teamed up to fight a dimension-hopping villain family. Miles Morales was introduced previously in a storyline from the Ultimate universe. Noir, Spider-Gwen, and Peni were all from that Spider-Verse event. Although, Peni's version of SP//DR (written by Gerard Way) had a much more traditional mecha that looked more like an Evangelion, so this movie's version of is a reimagining of that duo. Peter Porker was from a comic in the 1980s where he was a spider bitten by a radioactive pig. And also almost every hero/villain is some sort of animal with a pun

Aaron's death is sad because it hurts Miles and Miles' dad, but...dude was a murderer. He was an accessory to the murder of Peter Parker, who knows how many other people he slew on Kingpin's orders, and he wouldn't have hesitated to kill Miles if Miles hadn't unmasked. It's like Darth Vader: one good act--selfishly based entirely on family relationship--doesn't erase years of slaughter. (Somebody's bound to try to "actually" me that maybe Prowler hadn't killed anyone yet without explaining how he became one of Kingpin's top henchmen.) Stuff I didn't notice until multiple viewings: 1. Peter Porker is a spider who was bitten by a radioactive pig. 2. Green Goblin is responsible for all the spider-people being yoinked to this dimension by jamming OG Spidey into the matrix; they're seeking matches to Kingpin's family but that act corrupts the search which instead grabs everyone with the "best matches" it can come up with. 3. All that "tribute" cosplay allows our heroes to take the bus without stopping to change clothes. Nice!
@StarkRG3 жыл бұрын
I think the discovery that he was Prowler only makes his death that much harder to bear. Not only does your uncle/brother die, but you also find out they worked in organized crime and very likely killed many people. They have to come to terms with both unfathomable occurrences simultaneously. Miles must feel particularly bad since him being Spider-Man was the reason Aaron was killed.

This is the best Spider-Man movie, and one of the best comic book movies. Miles' father was a former SHIELD agent who became a cop when he started a family because it's a safer job. Alchemax is the name of the evil corporation that Miguel O'Hara works for in 2099 (Spider-Man 2099). Spider-Man 2099 is one of the most popular alternate versions of Spider-Man and before this movie came out, a lot of people were mad that he wasn't in the movie. In the comics, every dimension has a spider hero, but it's not always Peter Parker, so he does not count as a Nexus being like Wanda Maximoff or Kang. The spider hero of a given universe is called the Spider Totem. All the Spider Totems in this movie are from the comic books. Miles and Spider-Gwen do have an interdimensional romance in the comic books. In the comics, Spider-Gwen is relentlessly pursued by the chief of police, who is her father.

This is my favorite Spider-Man movie, and quite possibly my favorite movie overall. Every single line, every shot, every detail is deliberate and important, even if you don't know why until an hour later into the film (or even until second or third viewing!). It's like the ultimate lesson in Chekov's Gun: *nothing* is excess fluff. Add to that how well it combines superhero action with character-driven drama and humor, and how amazing the soundtrack is, and how they *literally invented new software to create a new art style for the animation* -- and even the technical details of the animation were carefully chosen for plot reasons, a la Mile's dynamic frame rate -- and it's just... perfection. I'm super excited for the sequel coming out next year, but I'm also a little worried: this movie introduced us to so many new things, but now we've seen them, will the sequel feel less original and therefore less amazing? Either way, I'm sure it will be great, even if it's not as mind-blowing as the first.

The black and white Spider-Man is voiced by Nicholas Cage. That might be a good reason why he sounds familiar.

It definitely could be the best Spider-Man movie. We don't have any plot holes, no sequel baiting that doesn't matter like ASM2, the story is unique, the music is great, and the animation is revolutionary

Prowler is definitely a great antagonist for how he is like a Raimi villain with sympathetic traits, same with Kingpin for his sympathetic traits

My favourite fact about this movie is such a tiny, throwaway line, where May calls Doc Ock 'Liv', implying that in this universe, her and Olivia Octavius used to be friends.

Fun Fact: Peter B. Parker may just be the animated version of Toby Maguire's Spider-Man

Did anyone else realize that Kingpin's plan to find other versions of his wife and kid in the multiverse is also Wanda's plan in Doctor Strange MoM.

In some versions (or maybe dimensions?) Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin was a bodybuilder/sumo wrestler before becoming the villain he is here. That's why his body proportions are so crazy. In general he's portrayed as being a very large man but also very strong.

Another fun fact: during the leap of faith, when miles launches himself from the building, the glass breaks as he jumps, meaning that miles was scared to jump but he did it anyway, cuz spider man needs to be brave, and he’s spider man, and it was at that moment that he finally realized it.

you know, you're the perfect watch buddy. I have been feeling quite lonely lately and I often resort to movies for comfort and it gets boring sometimes and even more lonely, but now I just watch your videos; doesn't matter whether I have seen the movies n number of times or never before, I enjoy watching them because you make it fun and let's just accept the fact that it's less lonely. So Thank you very much :)

Brought to from Sony starring Miles Morales. A black Latino student who gets bitten by a radioactive spider turning him into an arachnid-like hero...along with a few others. Winner of the Best Animated Film of that year
