Peter B Parker really did mean it when he said Miles was the reason he had the baby. In the first movie he explains that the whole reason he’d split up with MJ was because she wanted kids, and the idea of that scared him. His whole experience with Miles was what gave him the confidence to patch things up with MJ, which lead to Mayday being born. Which, in essence, lends credence to the theory that Miguel either isn’t telling us everything, or doesn’t know everything. Mayday’s whole existence was caused by Miles. If Peter never met Miles, he never would’ve patched thing up with MJ, and they never would’ve had a kid. Miguel claims that everywhere Miles goes, he’s an anomaly causing universes to be destroyed, just like Mumbattan. But clearly that can’t be true, since Miles’ influence lead to Mayday Parker being born in Peter B’s universe.

Fun fact: In Miguel's origin he didnt directly get bit by a spider, he got his genes changed into more of a spider during an experiment so he got all of the regular spider powers but it basically turned him half spider. Instead of sticky fingers he has claws which he uses to crawl on walls and fangs like a spider, he's also naturally nocturnal so he does most of his hero work at night. The Donald Glover scene was a crazy full circle moment. Bendis designed Miles after Donald Glover after seeing Glover dressed up as Spidey on the show Community. Glover had been sneaking in Spider-man references as part of his campaign to play Spider-man, something that started as a gag in his stand-up. Glover would later get to voice Miles in the cartoons and of course, played the MCU's Uncle Aaron in Homecoming who would later become the Prowler as you saw here.

@@staciemiller7465 If you wanted to learn more about Spider-Man 2099, here's some information about his backstory and heroic origin. Miguel O'Hara was born in New York City (futuristically called Nueva York), many years after the end of what his people's history calls the "Heroic Age", which is the modern-day era of Marvel heroes, he was born after his mother Conchata had an affair with his father's boss. He grows up with his mother Conchata, his younger brother Gabriel, and his abusive father George O'Hara. A rebellious boy with prodigy-level intelligence, Miguel is an adolescent when he is awarded enrollment into the Alchemax School for Gifted Youngsters (heavily implied to be a renovated version of the X-Men's headquarters) in Westchester, owned by the powerful Alchemax megacorporation which also controls local law enforcement agencies. Here, he befriends Xina Kwan, a girl of similar intelligence who specializes in computers. Xina helps Miguel defend himself against the bully Kron Stone, son of Tyler Stone: Vice President of R&D for Alchemax. As adults, Miguel and Xina date seriously until Miguel cheats on her with Dana D'Angelo, who originally is the girlfriend of Miguel's brother Gabe. Later on, Miguel and Dana are engaged. Though seemingly arrogant and confident in all walks of life, Miguel is a very private man and trusts almost no one except for his apartment's holographic aide Lyrate Life-Form Approximation Holographic Assistant, or Lyla, an artificial intelligence programmed by Xina. Miguel eventually becomes head of the genetics program of Alchemax, intended to create new controlled super-powered soldiers called "corporate raiders." Miguel is specifically inspired by surviving records concerning Spider-Man and hopes to one day create a similarly powered person. But after a human test subject dies during an early experiment, Miguel tells Tyler Stone he wishes to resign from Alchemax and discontinue his genetics research. Rather than let Miguel leave, Tyler Stone tricks him into taking Rapture, an addictive drug that genetically bonds to the user. Tyler reminds Miguel that only Alchemax is allowed to legally distribute this drug, so if O'Hara does not remain with the corporation then Tyler must assume he is getting the drug from the black market and will be forced to tell the police. Not wishing to be a blackmailed addict, Miguel recalls that he entered his own genetic code into his machine's databanks during initial experiments, using it as a human DNA test sample. Intending to use this older template of his pure genetic code to write over his current biology and free himself from the Rapture, Miguel sneaks into Alchemax and uses the gene alteration machines on himself. After Miguel turns on the machine to rewrite his DNA, his jealous subordinate Aaron Delgado sabotages the machines, causing them to alter Miguel's genetic code to be "50% spider DNA." Miguel survives the process, but realizes he now has spider-abilities. Genetically imprinted with spider DNA, Miguel has superhuman strength (lifting 10 tons under optimal conditions), speed, stamina, reflexes and agility, and enhanced durability. He can jump up to 30 feet. He has enlarged canine teeth (fangs) which can secrete paralyzing venom. His fingers and toes have retractable talons used for climbing walls and rending substances as durable as cinderblock. Both forearms contain spinerettes capable of releasing adhesive strands of a webbing-like substance from the backs of his wrists. Miguel has an enhanced fast-healing metabolism, and enhanced sensory acuity enabling him to see in the dark, at great distances, and track fast-moving objects clearly; however, he is more sensitive to light than normal humans. Realizing that there is now a person with abilities similar to Spider-Man, Tyler Stone sends agents to hunt this person. To conceal his identity while he fights his pursuers, Miguel dons a bodysuit with a mask that he once wore for the Mexican Day of the Dead festival. Miguel chooses this costume in particular because it is the only clothing he has that is made from "UMF" (Unstable Molecule Fabric), meaning it is the only clothing he owns that will not be torn or shred by the spider-talons that now occupy his hands and feet. After seeing him operate in public, a group of Thorites (worshippers of the Marvel hero Thor) come to believe that Miguel is the legendary Spider-Man back from the dead, and that he is the harbinger of Thor's eventual return. Originally focused on finding a cure for his condition, Miguel's further adventures as Spider-Man 2099 cause him to realize how ignorant of the world he was and how he had turned a blind eye to the oppression and pain the corporations of the world have caused. He is also surprised at the effect his presence has on the people who have been oppressed for so long, particularly his own mother, who ironically also hates the man her eldest son has become yet admires the exploits of Spider-Man 2099. After this, Miguel decides to embrace his identity as Spider-Man. Donning his costume, he publicly proclaims himself to be an enemy to all the megacorps, saying he will use his powers to fight for ordinary people against those in power who abuse their influence and authority.

Hobie created his own watch(es) with the parts he was stealing while walking through headquarters. He did leave his watch there when he quit knowing he would need his own device not on Miguel's network. It can be assumed he made several for Gwen's squad so no one would glitch in other dimensions. It's clever because he keeps you preoccupied with philosophical dialogue of him trying to persuade Miles not to join. It's also a callback to Peter B telling Miles to not watch the mouth, watch the hands.

Miguel is literally insane. He saw himself die so he just took over that person’s life. What did he do with the body?? How did he know anything about his daughters after seemingly never interacting with them before? The idea that he just took over someone’s life as if nothing happened definitely gives off horror vibes, especially with his vampire like tendencies. We’ve also established that the collider can send people not only into different universes but also different times (seen in the first film where Gwen was sent farther back into Miles’ time then the other spider people). It makes sense that Spot can destroy not only universes but can see and go into the past/present/future, causing those glitches in Mumbattan and Miguel’s timeline. Miguel might have also disrupted the timeline by REPLACING A DEAD PERSON LIKE A PSYCHO
@ma.2089
@ma.2089 10 ай бұрын
Considering his past and what’s normal in the future, it makes sense he’d want to find a life that’s got a sense of normalcy and family. While the idea can be freaky, the idea someone can be demonized and called a psycho for wanting a family and a normal life with less hardship is just sad. Miguel knew about Miles life cuz he’s been keeping an eye on the multiverse. He could just know his daughter and that family just by watching and refusing to intervene until he saw that he dies in that universe. We know little about the guy (besides some basic aspects of his comic backstory) so there could be more to it, but we weren’t given much. All we really know about the guy prior to the events of what happened was the ending of Into (where he was pretty normal). Dude is already hurting himself for his mistake disrupting that universe (which also seems like he’s been in that universe for a while, so whatever he did was is suspect to begin with cus it could be literally anything and not the sheer fact he replaced himself), so calling him a psycho on top of it for daring to want more than what he was deprived of is a bit sad. Kinda reminds me of The Day Hikaru Died.

Wanting a family and a normal life is not insane. Replacing a dead guy who looks like him and taking his family, robbing them of even the knowledge that their husband and father died. Well, that is not a sign of mental health. He pretended that girl was his daughter. He probably slept with that man's wife. And that man is forgotten, replaced by a doppelganger. If you really think about it, it's pretty damn sick.

The New Jersey bit is a joke because New Jersey is literally right across the river from New York City and Princeton specifically is a one hour train ride away. But there is a stereotype of people who have lived their whole lives in NY being so insular that they view anything outside NYC as basically on the other side of the world. (I'm not saying that it's true - just that it's a stereotype.)

LOL to be fair, when the VERY FIRST trailer for the movie came out, it was billed as: "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse - PART ONE"....... But then, they decided to pull an Infinity War/Endgame, and call the 2nd and 3rd movies two different titles. Totally had chills watching this in theatres, and yes even though I predicted a cliffhanger, I was pissed as hell that the movie was over.

I find it impressive how this Spider-Man series can, like you said, immensely increase the number of Spider-Man fans. The idea that the hero is varied in endless shapes and forms, yet still going through similar struggles, is very metaphorical about humanity in general. It reminds people how we're only alone as we allow ourselves to be. If we embrace others, we will always have a team/friends/family. It's a cliche story when the villain feels like an outcast because they refuse to open up, thus casting out everyone else; some people do love a good cliche, however. It makes me think about a particular demographic of people who come together under a similar pretense... sucks to suck, I guess. They can always be better, but they have to want it.

My favorite funny moment was when The Spot kicked himself and fell into a scary portal before he could finish his sentence. Also, you gotta admit that the one spot that makes up his face turning into a little dot was kinda cute. I also liked how cartoony the first fight was. Between spinning in the car wash to the Foam Party becoming an actual foam party with Miles and Spot “dancing” to the kid taking off his mask, I couldn’t stop laughing the first time around. The Lego sequence was put together not by a team of animators but rather by a 14-year-old Kid named Preston Mutanga. Lenny was voiced by Ziggy Marley, one of Bob Marley’s children. Last time, we basically had Phastos, Kate Bishop, and Agatha Harkness before their respective voice actors went on to portray them. This time around we had actors who already had a Marvel role before recording for this film. Karan Soni, the voice of Pavitr, previously portrayed Dopinder in the Deadpool movies. And yes, he’s returning for part 3. Daniel Kaluuya, the voice of Hobie, previously portrayed W’Kabi in Black Panther 2018. And of course, Oscar Isaac was Apocalypse and Moon Knight. When Hobie says he hates the a.m. and the P.M, he’s respectively talking about the morning and the Prime Minister. Pavitr had been Spider-Man for only six months and had it pretty easy for him up to this point. If Captain Singh was killed in Pavitr’s presence, he would’ve been affected by the loss like every other Spider-Hero. Three facts about Pavitr: 1.) He wasn’t bitten by a radioactive spider. Rather his powers are magic based. Perhaps it’s the bangles he uses for weapons. For all we know, they might function similar to the one we saw in Ms. Marvel. 2.) He fights using an Indian martial art called Kalaripayattu. A small animation team from Kerala, India was tasked to help animate Pavitri's movements. 3.) His Spidey mask has design inspirations from Theyyam, a Hindu ritual from Kerala. Malala Windsor, the Spider-Woman with the hijab, is an original character created for this movie. She was never introduced in the comics, but now she must have her own run. There’s no confirmation whether live-action Aaron Davis/Prowler is the same one from Spider-Man: Homecoming. For all we know, this might be a What If situation. In other words, he’s from an entirely separate dimension/timeline. Speaking of which, the canon events are absolute points like what we saw with Strange Supreme in What If season 1. The way I understand it, the Spider Society is pretty much a Spidey-themed TVA. A major difference is that they don’t prune dimensions. Rather, they try to save them from collapsing. Metro Boomin’ made a cameo as his own Spidersona. He curated the soundtrack for this film. That reminds me: Hummingbird, the song heard in the background when Miles is grounded, was co-written, co-produced, and performed by James Blake. He happens to be married to Jameela Jamil, the actress who portrayed She-Hulk’s rival Titania. Peter is a great mentor but also an irresponsible father for bringing Mayday to a steel mill with all kinds of equipment that can easily harm her. Miguel has the best of intentions with preventing the multiverse from collapsing, but I didn’t like that he called Miles a mistake and blamed him for everything that happened. Miles never asked to get bitten by a radioactive spider, but he’s doing his best and making the most of the situation. And finally, it’s weird but also cool that Earth-42’s version of J. Jonah Jameson and The Daily Bugle would actually support a Spider-Man rather than call him a menace all the time. Beyond the Spider-Verse was originally slated for March of next year. Unfortunately due to the ongoing writers and actors strike, voice recording has been delayed until further notice. The sooner the deals are made, the sooner production can resume.
