My mate is a MOD Police officer for near on 10 years, he says the pay is bad, but he gets a MOD house so his rent is cheaper, you are only armed if you can do the higher physical tests and you are really just a security guard since you do not go off any bases and really do not engage with members of the public unless they trespass which is rare. You normally have to work at one of the ports for a good many years, before you can try to get moved somewhere else and overall very boring. If you don't mind the boredom and working 24/7 and don't mind where they put you then it can be a job for life.

That’s not true mate, MDP police also cover ARV (armed response Vehicle patrolling) to protect the community from anti terrorism and government infrastructures aswell as anyone acting suspicious & being a first response for fire arms incidents and or hostil incidents or high end of public order incidents. There are not just there to protect government buildings….

I was in the CNC when it was the UKAEA Police, it was dead boring, not a job for a young guy wanting some action, I joined the real Police & did my 30, I saw plenty of action, be careful what you wish for folks!

Well that is simply false, £43,742+ a year is not bad pay. All MOD police officers are armed not just some. The MDP do go off bases and will respond to normal police situations if they are close

services police have no powers over civilians only service personnel as they do not hold the office of constable. MOD Police do hold the office of constable and therefore can enforce any laws on any person.

Should we give actual military police constable powers seeing as they're actually deployable and therefore can fill all the roles the military needs them to plus provide effective security and crime deterrence in and around military sites if they were to be given said extra powers, not to mention dealing with civilian trespassers/offenders on their own without having to rely on the local understaffed underfunded and overworked home office police force? Nah that would be sensible, let's force the MOD to have a separate civilian police force to do the exact same job but not be deployable, use different weapons with all the extra procurement and maintenance costs that will incur, and then station them at a limited number of MOD sites around the UK. Top idea 🙃

Erm, good news bad news! these are situated outside the gates at some military sites, they could support internal matters however that's mainly down to site security.. your miss understanding there role as a whole ie armed police at nuclear sites, however a nuclear sub base you'll see armed police outside along side troop security at the base... as teh general military police don't really have enforceable powers outside the site perimeter, it falls down to general citizen powers "everyone has" hence the multi-lays of security positions at such sites etc not forgetting as per the title the MOD police isn't secret, its just not thrown into ppls faces overall its a glorified security guards role.

@@dailygurrilavideos they do move around sites, just as security guards move locations.. overall there their to be the public figure & to deal with the public, MP's done & cant.. overall its not their responsibility to deal with the general public, as all your doing is moving one shoe onto the other foot.. as we can then look at football matches & why they pay extra for hundred's of police to be around during a match & yet the general public have to make do with a very poor police service during that time, why don't the private businesses employ security with policing powers "they do, everyone has such rights ie power of arrest etc" only you have to know what your doing or you could be the one ending up in hot water & then you'd also have the very likelihood of these ppl abusing their powers.. so you end up back at the start police deal with the public MP's deal with service personal private security deal with private property & public access area's with some extra police at cost...
