your example of "smoke pattern"...blurred edge is wrong. You are showing a variation of the oak camouflage

Imagine if this had been produced for the entire Wehrmacht. I suspect it could have had a fairly significant casualty impact. Excellent video , I appreciate the research.

The Rest of the Wehrmacht is equipped with camouflaged clothing like jackets, trousers, smocks, overcoats, caps and helmet covers with the official issue of smocks and helmet covers beginning in 1942. Every German Soldier was issued a Zeltbahn camouflaged tent quarter that doubled as a waterproof poncho. Additionally every Division had the capability to manufacture its own camouflaged equipment with the clothing tailors.

Unfortunately the English translation of "Leibermuster" as "body pattern" is a frequent misnomer in English language videos. It is true: the English "body" translates (into German as) "Leib, Körper", but the term "Leiber" in the word "Leibermuster" simple comes from the name of the Person (a Mr "Leiber") who designed it. Apart from that a very well made video.

ALWAYS amazed... at every turn, Germany was at the very tip of the spear. Always decades ahead of the world. Even in clothing and its uses. Great video.. very cool.

Their research was spearheading in some places, and in others turned out to be dead end (stuff like wind cannon). They poured money into research in all areas like crazy, it's no wonder that some of it was excellent.

These great and efficient camos are the Mother of all modern camouflages. Only because they are stamped nazis that they are not use nowadays. But, are you sure that Papa Hausser did have a role in the choice to camouflage these troops ? I always heard that Felix Steiner was the father of the WSS camouflage. about the pea pattern, I disagree. It was composed of 4 wide stains in various shapes, dark brow, dark green (and not black), light brown and light green. All these stains were doted peass of the three other colours. For example on the light green stain were light brown, drak green and dark brown peas ; on the dark brown stain were light green, dark green and light brown peas. This pattern was used as soon as the Normandy Invasion, and not the Bulge.
