Interesting observations. May I add that it is a bad idea to go into the boutiques during their tourist seasons (not when they are on vacation but when great numbers of vacationers visit those cities). They know that people like to buy on vacation, are not all too discerning, and will not travel back to return an item. So this is when the merchandise of lesser quality is on display.

I feel like the general population feels the same - I'm saying that because I imaging only 5 or 10% of people can actually manage to buy bags at that level of frequency. I'm 26 and only started my collection this year because I finally am financially stable enough to. It's insane in the matter of months within luxury resale groups seeing just the select 2-3 people who constantly obtains 5-10 bags from a new Chanel collection the day it's release then immediately resells in the groups for 500-1000$ above RRP. It makes it really sad for people like me haha I'm just trying to have a 5-7 bag collection to have for the years to come but it would take me 6 months to save up for a Chanel!

I have a query though... just bought a classic flap from the boutique.. this month, is there a reason why the date code on the authenticity card / sticker would imply that it was a 2019 manufacture? Thank you Jenn They do sell bags for longer periods of time and some can be a return (but returns need to be done within a short time frame. Sometimes certain bags end up in the stock room because of the fast turn of collections (each one to two months) and so some bags get left in the stock room until there is demand for them again on the sales floor. xoxo

Sadly I’m seeing more and more people with classic flaps in restaurants, shopping mall, and grocery stores now. It seems like the price increase only attracts more buyers. I wonder if Chanel is doing anything to discourage SAs to sell classics flaps and encourage them to sell more seasonal pieces. Any insights on the commission structure for different products?

First hand experience with poor quality on my mini 2.55 from 2 weeks ago. Damage on turn lock and sticker worn. Purchased at 31 Rue Cambon. Currently at US boutique waiting for them to locate another one or send for repairs.

IMHO, I make history and special moments with my bags. The right time for me is when I see a color/combo and style I love and feel will be a good addition to my collection, if it’s during a special event or moment in my life, even better. I think the ones that ruined it for everyone, are those reseller/influencers girls that post the “ it “bag, then turn around and sell it for a profit, SAs working w/resellers etc. As per my spending, it is not about me me me, it’s about the the season/color combo I want and will enjoy for a long time nothing else

This is really interesting. I’m going up to London the first day of April (there’s just been a price increase) and I’m thinking about purchasing a Boy bag (my first and probably only Chanel bag). I’ve loved it ever since it was introduced in 2011 when I was 18 and I’m still in love with it now. I wanted it for my 30th but with all the price increases it’s giving me the urgency to get it this year. I was going to contact Chanel on their website to ask if they have it in stock, does anyone know when the best time to do that is? I was thinking a week to a couple of days before I go?

It's still an insane amount of money for a bag. My husband does not see & want me to buy it so that's what's holding me back. Hi Dixie, this is the classic size. It is not a small. Some might call it the small (it is what used to be called the 225 size). There used to be a size small as well but is no longer in production. Right now there are officially three 2.55 double flap sizes offered: the classic size (which you see in this video), the large size (used to be 226, and you can see it in my other videos) and the Maxi (used to be called the 228). There were more 2.55 double flap bag sizes in the past but we are limited to these three at the moment. xoxo

It's the brand's fault for selling too many and letting the quality go downhill. The manufacturing side is their side and it wouldn't be so overexposed were it not for the cash grabbing. I hear influencers use a bored tone and roll their eyes when holding up certain bags and it's like yeah you're clearly not into this. It's like where's the passion? And they always say 'good quality' based on the brand when it varies WITHIN each brand, they fall for hype. Too many hypebeasts like trainers.
