My best guess is that the pipe was installed by prospectors for ventilation in one of their mines or tunnels. Seems too obvious I know. My second guess is that it has to do with communicating to someone topside, and my third guess is that it's an emergency oxygen or water lifeline, or even a way of piping water or pay dirt to the surface from below.

Read an interesting article relating to sulfides, it basically noted a PHD was awarded to a masters candidate in South Africa when the found that 80% of the gold was left in the tailings due to being in the sulfides so the -CN didn't extract. given The prevalence of sulfides and the difficulty in extracting there could be a lot of gold in the old dumps and tailings... AZ geology is interesting a study showed the porphyry Cu deposits were concentrated due to the action of water as AZ was never glaciated.

That first pan you sampled at 13:0 would have made my day as a newbie. I’m a fast learner, but any of that yella in my pan gets me super excited. Hope it never gets old or boring to me seeing gold show up in my pan. I’ve only been at this two weeks but I’ve already heard several people dismiss what they consider too small to bother with. That kind of mentality is foreign to me, but they can do whatever they like. I just don’t like hearing it because it seems to take this natural resource for granted & lacks a good bit of humility. In reality, gratitude & humility are far more valuable than the physical gold we’re chasing in the first place, whether we know it or not. So in my estimation, a true prospector would never turn their nose up at any yella in their pan. That’s why I appreciate your videos, because you seem to have a rich appreciation for the natural resources you’re hunting & a vast knowledge of how those resources accumulated because of that appreciation. The fact that you’re sharing your knowledge with others shows gratitude as well. After I get up to speed on the geology side of things, I look forward to learning about all the gemstones I’m tossing out of my pans while chasing that yella, since I’m a rock hound also & actually make fine jewelry out of the good specimens. Thanks for another great video Jeff!
