Secret Santa gives out $30,000 in $100 bills to strangers in need

An anonymous businessman handed out $100 bills to people in need on the San Carlos Apache Tribal Lands. Though the money was needed, his words of kindness meant so much more. Steve Hartman shares more in "On the Road."

I am a disabled Vietnam Vet with no family so every December I go out to eat at three or four restaurants and leave a $100 tip as a Christmas present. It's the least I can do. I wish I could do more. I love this man!

Wow! You have a heart of gold, my parents always tipped good each time we went out to eat, despite not having much to ourselves, sadly my parents passed away from covid, and now I'm all alone, with no other family, and no where to live.. it's sad sometimes, but things like this always bring tears to my eyes.. in fact good people in society, humanity itself not all but some.. you're all my hope to continue living. Even though we might all intellectually know it, it's stunning to see how being recognized is so important to humans. It was emotional to see how those women of different ages reacted so strongly to being complimented and recognized. This is what fuels the human spirit and you can see how toxic social media is just by the terrible things strangers say to each other there. That toxic sludge goes right into the psyche and molders there for a long time.

I am a giver much like this man. But this year has completely broke me I am unable to give any gifts this year and it crushes me. As an ALS patient who received an anonymous gift of a $100 bill in my shopping cart a couple of years ago (back when I was weakening but not yet in a wheelchair), I can tell you it is an amazing feeling. I did not see the gentleman place the bill in my cart, as I was choosing some bread. I was sure someone had accidentally dropped it, so I went to the info desk and reported it. The teller looked at the bill, smiled, looked up at me and said, “It’s yours. One of our regular customers does this, and you were today’s recipient.” He showed me a subtle mark identifying the giver. BTW, this was in Salem, OR, at the Fred Meyer on S Commercial Blvd. So if you’re the generous gentleman, THANK YOU! ☺️🙏❤️💥

Honestly wasn’t expecting that lmao but I think it’s because the kids want the cat inside.. Most pets on the reservation live outside during the harsh conditions and sadly many die throughout the year due to heat, cold or hit and runs.. During random times throughout the year, you can see many dead pets.. It’s sad to see especially when a dog was hit and neighbors don’t take care of their pets so you see them eating the dead dog..
