How I can tell that Miles is a perfect person is by how much grace he gives his callers and how gentle he is with his language even if he has an opinion on the caller’s conundrum. I’ve only felt frustrated with like 2 other callers before this one and probably wouldn’t have been so gracious if someone were asking me for advice about a sticky situation like that. Ngl, Miles low key reminds me and inspires me to be kinder and more empathetic with people and their experiences. Thanks, guy. ❤

Regarding the roommate’s sister crashing for two months…your lease agreement may have a clause that states if a person stays for over two weeks, they need to be on the lease. You can blame the lease agreement and state you’re worried about breaking (going against) the lease and being evicted. 🤷♀️

as a recovering professional grudge holder, that third call (cruise) was like a trip down memory lane lol - down to the disconnected/vague reasons for disliking the person and holding onto 4 year old betrayals. loved your very compassionate and even-keeled advice miles! would also add: part of burying the proverbial hatchet is letting go of your instinct to find things to dislike/be annoyed about. there's no reason to let this old history ruin or hinder what could be a super fun vacation. best of luck to that caller

Omg the girl whose sisters giving handys in the living room even having the nerve to bring people over and then think she has the place or space to put her problems onto others that have nothing to do with her priorities while making everyone uncomfortable is BAFFLING!! She should be worried about fixing her credit and getting tf out not hooking up. I think the sister that allowed her to move in knew her issues and figured everyone would just deal with it. end segment had me sobbing. i’m in my first year of university and already having to choose between working to make rent and having the free time i need, and making compromises about my future career path. i want to be a teacher so badly, and it’s the job that would give me the most satisfaction, but i worry about meeting the base needs of my future kids and giving them a comfortable life so i Know i’ll end up working a well paid job that i barely enjoy. it fucking sucks, and it’s really good to hear other people sharing the same concerns and being also pissed about it. loved the episode sm this week, thank you for all you do and the joy you bring to our lives :)

Miles, your advice about dealing with a former friend/family friend and going on the cruise is absolutely spot on. I wish I had known this in my mid to late 20s. For Secret Sugar Daddy - I think it's probably more likely that the boyfriend would be OK with the sugar daddy situation IF he is comfortable with polyamory (which doesn't technically sound like what they're currently practicing, but you won't know until you talk about it). I feel like it's less likely that a sugar daddy would want to continue paying her rent/buying her big ticket items if she gets married. But he might still be happy with business trip companionship now and then - you never know. Miles is absolutely right in recommending she dole that information out in pieces.

First caller: id talk to the sugar daddy first and tell him how you feel about the other guy. Then tell new boyfriend and what your plan is moving forward. I agree with Miles that the money and sugar daddiness is your business. He knows youre seeong other people. Spot on Miles with that.
@herb_rolls Жыл бұрын
I think it's not about him BEING a sugar daddy it's that she relies on him so much. Regardless of her career status, there is a financial reliance there. I mean, they essentially are emotionally dating regardless of how they label it. I would feel very uncomfortable if someone I was dating wasn't upfront about a year long friends-with-benefits where they recieved monetary support from. That's just messy!

I really appreciated your get real segment, Miles. 100%. its tough to be creative when you're exhausted and overworked and trying to make ends meet. Why I've refused to get a full time job and instead work a couple part time jobs that pay me better per hour and are work that feels more meaningful, and freelance on the side. It's a lot to juggle sometimes in terms of scheduling but I like having more ownership over my time and work and not depending on one sole job/boss for $. Makes it easier to leave something that isn't working. Anyway, I'm probably rambling here. Just really appreciate the message and consideration for others. I'm glad you're doing well :) you deserve it!

To the sugar baby: do not give up this bag if your not sure! You don't owe this bf anything unless he makes things exclusive. And what you did before that to make money?
