No it isn’t because pitchers hitting home runs is exceedingly rare. All they can do most of the time, if they do anything at all, is sac bunt which of course requires there to be at least one runner on with less than two outs, which is obviously not always the case. I kinda like that the AL has the DH while the NL doesn’t because it means that unlike in other sports, there’s a difference between them. This a a good video. I particularly enjoyed the narrative on pitchers and their batting history and general assumptions when a pitcher steps to the plate. However, the REAL meat and potatoes behind what made this video worthwhile is Big Sexy himself. When he hit that home run on that beautiful May day in 2016 he changed the course of world history. This was more than a home run. This was a celebration of the human spirit. A celebration led by none other than Big Sexy himself. There was nobody more qualified. When he launched that ball 365 feet from home plate the world stopped. For a brief moment there was unity in the stands. People wept tears of joy and dreams were attainable. Six years, one pandemic, several civil rights cases and a Russian invasion later, this home run continues to be the beacon of hope for all who strive for happiness and satisfaction. We all know the play call.... "The impossible has happened!" As epic and fitting as it is, it will forever bring a smile to my face and give me hope for the world to return to how it was back on May 7, 2016.
