One conclusion about 99% of gaming chairs, the tilt will fail 100% of the time, its a matter of when rather than if. So what? These are still fun and you make an excellent addition to your setup. that's not true ive had cheaper chairs with tilt not break chairs have used for over 5 years, How are they all exact the same design on the inside or are they different and why do secret lab offer such a low 3 year warranty period compared to other brands, we would need to see other tilts from other chairs to see if they infact are same design and all use same parts

I check out other videos they are not design the same at all possible use the same parts but the poor design on the thin metal wall that locks the teeth into place if that snaps its done for if bolts snap then you can replace bolts like i did at the end of the day a expensive chair where they cheap out on design, ive yet to find a video online with other chairs other than secret lab where tilt has broken

look this up Office Chair Synchro Tilt Mechanism NG013A tilt is complete different and just looking at this would last alot longer again its a poor design from secret lab considering how nice the chairs are and all features it has let down over poor design, I would like to see internals for tilt on titan evo is that the same or did they change it

Thanks for this very helpful video. I would just point out a couple of things: The piston can be removed from the tilt mechanism with a pipe wrench. That part is not difficult to do - but removing it from the wheelbase is near impossible without the use of a sledge hammer. Secondly, it would have been a lot easier to attach the tilt mechanism to the chair first, then fit in the piston and finally the wheelbase and wheels - just an observation. It saves the need of having 2 people (one to hold and one to screw). Thank you again for a great video. Glad you got your chair sorted. SecretLabs customer service was amazing for me as well. They sent me a full replacement even though my chair was 2 years out of warranty.

@mo_at_work great points for assembly! Will come handy for other viewers for sure. Also it would be fun to see Zoe swinging sledge hammer and using a pipe wrench!! How didnt I think of that?!!

The folding mechanism just wasn't working for me, I just had to remove the plastic-brass piece that was stuck there and it worked. Because it was blocking the mechanism.

@@mischief9672 pretty much yes, or get any other tilt mechanism that fits it as these are generic.

It's rare that I actually login never mind comment on a video, but this one I had to... The info was kind of helpful, HOWEVER, my chair is out of warranty and I'm trying to repair it. The part you took out with the spring is all I have to put back together, and at NO TIME in this video did you actually show the entire piece and how that spring is wrapped around it. It's so frustrating to be so close to understanding exactly how that piece goes, only to have you not show it.

@@Sully9939 that's because we swapped the mechanisms, but this is a great idea for the next video! If you ping me on Instagram, I can take more pictures for you of the mechanism inside for reference

@@RomanDoes so i got new bolts m6 45mm length ones i got were 50mm but got new ones today 45mm just come this morning from amazon, It should be info freely avaible because if bolt snaps replace it with stronger one because replace bolt will save entire tilt mech from breaking complete as my first one did, im going herman miller embody for next chair secret lab cant eat dust for price charge with such a flaw to their chairs reminds me of controllers for consoles rather than use magnetic sticks they use crappy ones that stick drift tech there use it, so secret lab use thicket bolts not cheap skinny ones

@roidnerd2501 careful with that Herman Miller chair, a lot of people on KZbin say it's not comfortable. I kinda want to buy it but at the same time really hesitant because of the reviews. I think herman miller became a status thing on KZbin.

@@RomanDoes my brother has the embody herman miller one love it but for bigger people its not comfy I'm around 100kg and its comfy and you can buy atlas headrest, secret lab have they fixed this tilt mechanism with new secret lab chairs or do they still have the same point of failure, Im just lucky because first time my secret lab chair fail it destroyed the tilt system so had have new one sent, this time around only bolt snapped so find exact size perfectly saved my chair from being complete destroyed again as im 4 months out of warranty from what i can see with new secret lab chairs they still have the same tilt mechanism that i assume have same weak design supposed to be rated up to 180kg for XL doubt that very much as it breaks to easy
@RomanDoes3 ай бұрын
@roidnerd2501 that tilt is a generic part used by 90% chair makers in secret lab segment, so I doubt they would invest inot making their own, same as with the rest of the chair, it's all made of generic parts from different suppliers. They only own the skin design on it and maybe a few custom bars made to have a "unique" back rest curve
