Tested resins characteristics from best to worst:
1. SirayaTech Build, super easy print, v. strong, max 100 deg C. My favourite resin by far :)

2. 50% SirayaTech Build, 50% Phrozen Nylon-Green, easy print, a little brittle but springy, max75 C.
3. SirayaTech Tanacious, moderate to print, very soft but not springy, not brittle, max 40 deg. C.
4. Phrozen Nylon-Green Tough, v. good resin, moderate to print, springy, not brittle, max 55 deg. C.
5. SirayaTech Simple, best beginner resin, super easy to print, very strong, brittle, max 70 deg. C.
6. Anycubic UV Tough Resin, very easy to print, medium brittle, max 50 deg. C.
7. SirayaTech Sculpt, medium brittle, a bit elastic, easy to break, ok to print, max 80 deg. C.
8. Liqcreate Premium Tough, hard to print, medium brittle, max 50 deg. C.
9. Phrozen TR300 High Temp Grey, very brittle, medium easy to print, max 100 deg. C.
10. Phrozen TR250 LV High Temp, very smelly, very brittle, hard to print, max 80 deg. C.
11. Phrozen Stiff Rock Black, slow to print, brittle, not really strong, max 70 deg. C.
12. Anycubic Craftsman Resin, easy to print, Very Brittle, max. 70 deg. C.
13. e-Sun eResin-PLA, very unpleasant smell, strong but brittle, easy to print, max 60 deg. C.
14. Liqcreate Clear Impact, Very hard to print, brittle, max. 53 deg. C.
15. Elegoo ABS-Like Translucent Clear, very smelly!, shrinks, brittle, max 60 deg. C.
16. SirayaTech Blue Clear V2, very smelly, difficult to print, elastic, max 45 deg. C.
17. Anycubic Standard Clear, very smelly, very brittle, shrinks, low detail of print, max 50 deg. C.

“You will not hear this anywhere else.” This is said a lot, especially on KZbin. Things like that are used notoriously by people who clickbait and it ends up not being the case in their video. But in this video it’s actually true. There’s actually unique little gems of information all over this video and I’m all for it. Thanks for walking the walk after you talked the talk. Not many people do that and it’s refreshing to see someone who does.

@@sirayatech2 thanks for your answer. can you maybe give me a hint about the differences between BUILD and BLU? your website does not help here sadly
@sirayatech2
@sirayatech2 2 жыл бұрын
@@hugo_bart Build and Blu are quite different resin. Build is high resolution and precision (meaning it does not warp). It has not brittle but not super strong like Blu. The unique combination makes Build tappable and is a great resin for parts that require fit and resolution. A good example would be electronic cases. It is also quite easy to print. Blu is an engineering resin designed for high-strength applications. It has an excellent combination of hardness and impact resistance and is great for functional parts like fixtures and jigs. It is also pretty accurate. Blu is also more challenging to print than most of our resins, including Build. This is why users may mix Build and Blu to create a resin that is stronger than Build but not as challenging to print while still have excellent resolution and precision.

This is a superb video, thank you SO MUCH for doing all the research, so we don't have to! I'm just about to dip my toe (not literally, I hope!) into the resin 3D printing world; the mind-boggling array of available resins and conflicting advice is, well, mind-boggling... So again, thanks! I shall be ordering some Siraya Tech resins for my new printer, as soon as I order the printer! The stand-out one for me was "go for a transparent/translucent" resin; it hadn't really occurred to me that with an opaque resin, the post-process cure wouldn't penetrate to the interior; but the instant you said it, it was so obvious. Really, it should be mandatory for anyone getting into this technology to watch this video!

Extremely informative. Just bought a Gk-two to start prototyping some projects. Will definitely be looking at SirayaTech a-lot more closely, as they ship directly to New Zealand, which a-lot of manufactures ignore because we look quite small. Thank you for all your valuable testing and information, I hope lots more people see this video. Take my like!!!

Thank you, thank you very much. I had the same problem, spent days and $1000+ on resins to find the right one. I will definitely try Siraya too. I was lucky enough to find your video, the problem is that "Secrets of Resin 3D Printing. You won't hear it anywhere else." sounds like a clickbait and says nothing about the content. The video is very very useful, but thousands of users will ignore it because of the misleading title.

Thanks to my uncle's new-found love of (slash, obsession with) HO-scale railways (after a half-century of general and R/C modelling) and his recent request for my assistance in his builds, I've spent the past week preparing and researching whilst waiting for my first 3D printer to be delivered. This is without doubt one of the best sources of information relevant to the kind of work that I know I'm going to be tackling (for both my uncle, and my own personal projects). You just explicitly stated/confirmed many things that others either glossed over, missed entirely, or I figured out myself. Your breakdown of resins/blends is invaluable, and saves me a lot of time/money before I even start.

Thank you for making this video. I'm going to be buying my first 3D printer, a resin one, in about a month. This was the most informational single video I've seen looking around KZbin. I especially enjoyed your breakdown on the types of resins and how to "weld" them together using the original resin as a glue. I'd never heard that technique, but a lot of the pieces I want to print are in sections. So, this will be a big help.

Just bought my first printer, and the SirayaTech Simple Clear you recommended. I am not disappointed, after doing my first validation test prints for optimal curing time I settled on 2.2 seconds, though 2 seconds looked good too. Everything comes out crisp and clean and very sharp. I print 6mm figurines, and they come out like the were ABS extruded into a mold, flawless. Washing said resin should, in my opinion, be done with a double action airbrush, first to spray off the excess resin back into the vat with air, and then use 15% alcohol to spray off the models getting into all the little spaces and holes. All airbrush. Also, do not blow dry the models like the manufacturer suggests, they are prone to shrinkage, wash, air dry or shake dry, cure. If you UV cure with water on the model, it will have little cracks all over it. Ask me how I know.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen such thorough work put into a breakdown of resins! Great work, and thank you for sharing. I use 3d printing for a completely different application (miniatures, like many do), and I still found this very informative. Awesome stuff! Humorously and somewhat unsurprisingly, Sirayatech is still the go-to for many in my side of the resin hobby as well; for minis, Tenacious often gets mixed in 1 part to 9 of Siraya Fast Navy Grey for maximum detail, fast print speed, and robust miniatures. Great products from that company.

wow this video popped up in my YT feed and I have found it invaluable in my "preparation" for eventual resin printer acquisition. I'm printing FDM and have watched videos here and there about resin, to just be aware of what people use/results/quality/etc. And yes, this video covered all of the other things that I am sure will be very useful, when I will finally get a resin printer. I especially like the trick about the post-wash to get a smooth shiny finish. Also the advice on attaching resin parts. These kinds of details ;) and let's not forget the "cookbook" of resin mixes ;) and such... really illustrate the degree of detail and testing that you have put into finding the perfect solution for your needs. This video was a joy to watch, and I hope there will be future videos like this, to cover the things that no one else does. Appreciate your effort and sharing your pains+success in this video ^_^

Hi Wojtek, very interesting (as usual), especially on a new subject this time. I'm using a Formlabs-3 since one year for professional purpose and printing with Tough-2000 resin which is crazy expensive (€200/liter) and it doesn't mean that it is better than others but with Formlabs there is no other choice than using their own resin, this is why I almost bought also the Anycubic Photon Mono X for hobby purpose. Most resin printers reviewers talk only about figurine results but never about mechanical parts which is what I'm printing with the Formalbs. Now you showed us what we can do with such printer when using the right resin and following good advices, that's great ! Resin printing will give us for sure new opportunities to explore and develop in the RC models and EDF area. BTW I received my BH Viper XL two days ago ;-) Thank you for sharing all your experience, very helpful !
