Good tutorial James. Love the Tsunamis. Tearing the LOK sound decoders out of my Scale Trains locos and replacing them with Tsunami 2’s.

ESU is magnitudes better. Better recordings, higher clarity sounds, no artifacts when notching. Best of all you can have all 6 of your GEVOs sound unique with 6 different ES44AC sound files

@@Trainmaster909 I'm about to buy decoders for all my DCC ready locomotives, and because of the sound recordings, was leaning towards the ESU version 5 decoders, but this dynamic digital exhaust sound seems to be an amazing feature in the Tsunami 2 decoder.

I've been using DCC for 7 years and love how it opens up a new world to model train operations. I do have a question though. Is there a way to program the decoder to not start the engine sound card when it 1st gets power. I have multiple engines and when they are sitting idle engines off (sound) if there's a short anywhere on the lay out all the engines restart their sound cards. This is very annoying. Any ideas

Hi JLWii. I'm looking to during this virus time do some installations and programming on some older G gauge trains. They include the LGB Forney, LGB Mogul, 1:13.7 scale Forney with an Aristo-Craft Rogers chassis, and a kit-bashed Doodlebug. I was told by an expert that the Tsunami2 is a good option. I plan to use AirWire 900 controls and battery power, and the Convertr for any engines with Tsunami2. I'd need a bit more amperage on many of the locomotives, but luckily the TSU-4400 can handle 4 amps.

Do decoders have anything to do with the actual PERFORMANCE aspects of the loco (such as slow-speed capabilities), or are the differences mostly in the sounds and lights? I just ordered my first (and maybe only) Athern Genesis loco and it comes with Tsunami rather than the preferred Loksound decoder. I'm wondering if it would be worth it performance-wise, to swap it out with a Loksound decoder. This is all new to me! Thanks!

@goaliegeorge6 жыл бұрын
TurbochargedTraction Productions brakes are set in CV117 (independent) and 118 (automatic). The DDE ic calibrated for the loco using CVs 2.503, 2.504 and 2.512. The SoundTraxx KZbin channel has these explained in more detail and how to set them.

independent and automatic brake are totally different. Independent = Engine brake (or engines), Automatic = Train (whole train including engines) brake.
@goaliegeorge6 жыл бұрын
alexander1485 that is correct. You can adjust the rates for each separately for more realistic operation. The SoundTraxx KZbin channel has videos that show how they are set. T2 also has functioning Dynamic Brakes..
